Metal Gear Goes Hollywood
« on: August 30, 2012, 04:36:41 PM »
At today's Metal Gear Anniversary event in Tokyo, photos show banners with the slogan "Metal Gear Solid Hollywood Movie", along with the Columbia Pictures logo. Columbia Pictures is, of course, owned by Sony Pictures. During the stage presentation, Hideo Kojima confirmed that, yes, there was still a Metal Gear movie project in the works with Avi Arad producing.

Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, Christopher Nolan... The Prestige!

Kinakabahan ako para sa project na ito. Pero excited ako dito! :-D
Ows?

Silent Hill for me was a close one to a true adaptation.

Agree. Madalas nga pag movie adaptation ng game sablay. But knowing Hideo Kojima, di nya pababayaan product nya.

On a related note...

Sana nga. Hehe.

Ang kulit lang ng clamor ng fans for David Hayter na gumanap siya as Solid Snake dito. Producers ought to include him at least in the writing team for this project.

in fairness, MGS always kind of lent itself to a movie-like presentation given how cutscene-heavy most of the games are. i'd be disappointed if David Hayter wasn't involved in some way; i read somewhere that he proposed that the movie be done in CG so he could voice Snake, but i don't know how that ended up.

Yes, Hayter should be in... someway, somehow.

yeah...my very first playthrough of MGS4 lasted about 16-18 hours with the cutscenes. when i went for the Big Boss ranking (you have to skip all the cutscenes because they're counted towards the final time) i clocked in at 4-5 hours. grabe talaga.

i don't care much for the movie or for Revengance, but Ground Zeroes is a whole different story.

Will check Ground Zeroes... pero hirap talaga pantayan ng MGS4, from hype, gameplay, story, overall content.

pang next gen pa ata yung ground zeroes. mukhang maganda kalalabasan nito.

i understand why everyone doesn't like the concept of revengeance. as a fan of hack and slash and beat em up games, parang sakto lang na magkaron ng ganitong game si raiden.

i think it's comparable to ff7 and dirge of cerberus. dirge was within the same universe and story but the gameplay was different.

yeah, i dont outright hate Revengance but i can understand where you're coming from. despite MGS being over-the-top to begin with

Will check Ground Zeroes... pero hirap talaga pantayan ng MGS4, from hype, gameplay, story, overall content.

i was expecting them to put out a version of MGS4 that was like MGS2's Substance or MGS3's Subsistence after a while, but all we got was a patch that introduced trophies four years after the game actually came out. not to mention the servers for MGS4's multiplayer already went offline. Substance and Subsistence added a load of new stuff to their respective games.

i think as far as overall content goes, MGS4 is still the weakest (it just seemed like they wanted to tie off the entire story) and if the "open world" nature of Ground Zeroes is anything to go by, then it will still beat out MGS4 in the content area hands-down.

(or kung magkakaroon pa siya ng 2 or 3 or 4.)

"Raiden in MGS4 was received very well, and I wanted to keep going with that direction in Rising. The people who liked him in 4 will like him in this, but it’s a personal preference."

Sobrang astig.

Until they abandoned MGS: Rising for MGR: Revengeance which in IMO is a big downfall... parang Devil May Cry kuno na... again ang pangit unlike the previous project MGS:Rising. Again my opinion only, I'm a big big Raiden fan BTW.
