haha. i always use a fuzz pedal. i have 3 fuzz pedals on my board at one point. at solid state amp ang madalas ko gamitin. may point is unfounded yang sinasabi mo na sa tube amps lang lumalabas ang ganda ng mga Fuzz pedals.

Thanks sa input sir! haha 3 fuzzes? wow

Thanks po sa mga input mga sir! how about what type of fuzz to achieve the violin-like tone? muff vs. fuzzface vs. tonebender type? definitely octave types can't (tried yung sa nick nitro, not my cup of tea).

So you either use a solid state amp from now on or you don't jive with fuzz pedals?

Well, sa solid state amp, siguro ok yung tweakable na muff type. Traditional fuzz face types work better with cooking tube amps.

my muff sounds glorious on a loud clean amp & terrible on small amps.   :) the only difference i notice when using a tube amp is the dynamic, nag iiba yung attack, you must dig in more..

It doesnt sound good by itself, i liked it stacked with a dirt box.
This thing is rude, nasty and tracks terribly on the lower frets.

Loads of fun.

This probably showed up here before, but this is worth posting again!

Major standout for me is the Dizzy Tone. But I did find the Ruiner, FF and Probe veeery interesting. Special mention din and Meathead.

Thoughts?

Not to be controversial but, i tried the sun face nkt yesterday with a blues jr. And a strat and was moderately bored. I don't know if it's because i started out using fuzz with a big muff and a fuzz factory. I think what made it more unimpressive was the inflated price.

Just my opinion. YVMV.  :-o

Yup me time na ganun.
Fuzz pedal tsaka single coils di ko trip lately pati fuzzface style pedals.

Really digging buckers with the zero, tonebender and the blender.

^are the NKTs high gain or med gain? ang alam ko kasi sa FFs usually importante low gain yung transistors na gagamitin para litaw yung pagiging dynamic ng fuzz effect (swipe lightly and it's clean-ish, dig and it growls). general notion is that FFs are meant to be played using your volume knob or variation in input gain.

For me, i like fuzz and single coils naman, especially low output or vintage pickups. I think it brings out the character of the fuzz as opposed to making it sound like an over drive or a distortion.

That being said, ok din yung muffy fuzzes on buckers.

Pero, i don't know. Maybe i was expecting something more from the sunface with all the hype. It's not bad naman just a little too vanilla for my taste.

Mas sulit fuzz factory or even a fuzz face. Naka try na rin ako ng germanium na fuz face, mas okmpa nga e kasi dunlop has streamlined the product already.

Again, just my opinion. Not bashing the sunface. It just is too much money for too little fuzz.

Not only ok, but definitely ok ang muff type fuzzes sa buckers. Ang nipis kasi kapag single coils (my observation with the gear that I have), you can't get that much wall of a sound.

Hey Lyle, tagal mo di nagpost ah. Been busy?

Yeah, busy man. Pero looking for the next cool fuzz. Hey, kita ko you bought the hyperion a. How  does it compare to the pig mine? Is it muffy or more on distortion? Walang tone knob e, diba?

Aarrrgghhhh no, no. Hindi ako yung nakakuha ng hyperion bro.

Dibs on the fuzz factory!

Sorry man, fuzzfactory is a keeper. Although daming nag unload nun dito a. It really shines through a slightly boosted/gritty amp. I run it through a low gain shred head. \m/

I think the fuzz factory is good on its own. But there is always room for some experimentation. Fuzz on fuzz! Haha.

I find it too sharp on some amps e, so i set it on a drive channel pag solid state or run it through a very low overdrive. But that's just my own preference. I like it dark kasi.

Big muff is great on it's own. But you can push it with a drive pedal before it para umangat sa mix.
