Ladies & gents, meet "Maria".
E-Series MIJ Fender Stratocaster, so that put's its production date somewhere in between 1984 to 1987. According to micsis, model no. ST-456 ito.
Alder body
Bone nut
Rosewood fretboard
Gotoh tuners
C-shape neck, I think (no skunk stripe)
5 springs at the back, so parang fixed bridge din. I removed the cover at the back.
Gauge 10 strings
Marvel straplocks
If I'm not mistaken, everything's stock except for the pickguard, plastic parts, strap buttons, & nut. It's in great condition, considering its age. It's at least 3 years older than I am. A few dings here & there.. and a few scratches. Nothing major though.
Here's the story. Unang lumitaw ang strat na 'to sa classifieds when micsis posted it for sale. Back then, it had black plastic parts, & had the option of a set of Seymour Duncan staggered pickups. And I think for a short time, it was to be sold with a vintage-style bridge installed; I don't remember if it had a steel tremblock.
During that time, I couldn't afford the guitar yet, even if I chose the cheaper option of buying it with the stock pickups. Eventually, Russell (aka scofield) bought the guitar.
After a few weeks, Russell PM'd me, asking if I was interested in the strat, coz he could sell it to me at a slightly lower price. I think it was due to his GAS for an Epiphone Dot. Hehehe. Sakto lang yung cash ko actually. So I went for it, I wanted a strat ever since I started playing guitar. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Here's how it looked like when I bought it (minus the SD pickups):
And here it is now:
Sooner or later, I'll install a push-pull pot so I can get 7 sounds out of this baby. Hopefully I get to upgrade its pickups in the near future, & get a tube amp to match as well.
