Tru-oil guitar finish
« on: December 23, 2013, 09:45:54 AM »
Yes, I know, the inevitable question: where can I buy Tru-oil in Manila?? Before I go through the long, complicated and expensive process of importing this myself. Surely one of the many guns shops catering for the thousands of firearms-loving Pinoys has this liquid?

Thanks guys.

Ikot sa mga gun stores, dre. Merong birchwood casey na gun stock oil para sa wooden body ng rifles. It's the same thing.

Hahn used to have a limited supply. But the branch I checked last month didn't have any. Importing is not easy either, as it's considered a flammable substance. I didn't even dare buy some and put them in my baggage last time I was overseas. Mahirap na.

You're right. Upscale outdoor sport and firearms stores would be your best bet right now.

Boiled linseed oil (BLO) on the other hand... True value used to stock cans of those.

The brand Outd'Or "maintenance oil" they stock beside their varnishes is also linseed oil. If you check out the ingredient, and google that scientific name, it comes out as linseed oil. I've used it to finish a 2x12 cab. Very nice to use.

If you're looking for oil finishes, try these as well. You could mix it with laqcuers andother clear finishes as well to create your own oil/varnish blend.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
