yep pldt dsl is ayos na ngayon... pero 2 years ago grabe ang init init lagi ng ulo ko... lol! sa area namin sa makati minsan nawawala ang net pero pag on/off ko lang ng modem ayos na ulit... i just hate their customer service though... kakapikon... hehe!

fyi lang. SmartBro kami before and used to get around 200 to 300/kbps at best. switched to BayanDSL the other day and this is what i'm getting today...

Ayy. Teka it must be like 3 years na ata ako sa Bayantel DSL ko. Very happy na. Nung una nga lang, halos araw-araw ko murahin yung mga Customer service nila. But when they got it right, they got it right.

Ang napansin ko lang dito sa BayanDSL, medyo intermittent or fluctuating ang speed. Does this happen to you also?

It's had its problems din. The modems they supply, if you're a "walang patayan" user like me (meron kasing ibang computer at ibang user) will last only a year or so. Mga ZTE e hehehe.

The speed is supposed to fluctuate. Slow in the afternoon and early evening, fast in the late evening and early morning. That's true for all shared-bandwidth type of broadband services. Parang nung panahon ng dial-up.

Globe DSL!

Medyo madalas ma-disconnect, pero lately swabe ang connection. Smooth surfing and downloading. Ambilis.

Dapat pldt kami eh, pero unavailable service sa area namin because of their fiber optic cables (sorry di ako technical with these things).

So our options were smart bro, or globe. Parehong around 1k a month, pero speed was 384kbps VS 1.5Mbps... so no-brainer decision for us.

Try pinging Singapoire or Los Angeles. You're pinging the Bayantel server in QC from Bayantel itself, so you're only benchmarking the "last mile" connection, not their overseas Internet pipe

So far eto lang ang pinakamabilis na inabot ko sa SmartBro. And na-acquire ko lang yan nung time na nagrerepair siguro sila ng server nila. Soooobrang bilis eh.

Ngayon ala na. Gutom na ulit ang speed ko

20kb na lang ang D/L.

Planning on switchin either PLDT or Globe. Yun lang yata ang meron dito sa Bulacan eh.

di ito fixed bandwidth...so pag peak times bumababa ng 512kbps...gabi ako lagi gumagamit so ganito lagi speed nya...

if youre planning to switch to this ISP, wag ka maniwala sa "Unlimited Bandwidth" advertisement nila...its just marketing BS...karamihan ng users nito ngayon ay naka cap sa 1.5 mbps...sir Dindin is lucky to have that unlimited bandwidth connection dahil totoo yun sa kanila...o baka pag old rates ang binabayaran mo eh mataas talaga sa 1.5mbps...

Rant.

Langya tumawag ako sa *1888 kanina lang. Kasi yung tropa ko nagpakabit ng SmartBro Plan 999. So pumapalo yung speed nya ng mga 384+ kbps. Yung sa akin naman Plan 788 yata yun and ang inaabot ko na lang nga yon ay nasa 128kbps.

Ngayon ang siste, pagtawag ko sa *1888, tinanong ko kung ano process ng pagpapa-upgrade ng Plan 999. Ang sinagot ba naman sa akin ay "wala namang magbabago sa speed so hindi advisable na mag upgrade ng plan." So nagtaka ako. Sabi ko "bakit ganun? Ibig nyo sabihin magpapaupgrade ako para lang tumaas ang bill ko pero wala akong makukuhang speed difference? Ang sabi sa akin ganun daw kasi kaya 788 yung binabayaran ko dahil una-una akong nag avail ng service nila, and ganun ang price dati. Now yung mga bagong nagpapakabit 999 ang binabayaran.

Ang labo, kasi yung speed ng sa tropa ko di hamak na mas mabilis kesa sa akin. Kaya parang hindi ako maconvince na hindi tutulin connection ko kahit mag upgrade ako ng Plan 999 from 788. Kung sino man nakaka-alam about SmartBro (sir Jim Ayson yata) pakilinaw naman sana. Totoo bang pag nag upgrade ako sa Plan 999 tataas lang ang bill ko pero hindi bibilis ang connection ko?

parang panget ang globe sa area ko. so far ilang beses na nagdodown at wala pang isang buwan yung service sakin. pero madali tumawag sa kanila tapos medyo prompt naman yung techs sa pag ayos ng problema. naka pldt yung sa house ng dad ko, pero di naman sila madalas down.
