adam from KSE uses a maxon OD808 into a hughes & kettner triamp. basically a dimed tubescreamer into a high gain amp set for midgain. nothing against boston, pero i doubt it.

OTOH, i've heard pretty good high gain sounds coming from a DS1/MT2 in front of an overdrive. depende nalang sa OD, kase some pedals can't really take a hot signal from just anything.

If I put it on my board I have the crunchbox first, then the Blues Pro. As for settings, just try them out yourself. I also have the CB running at 18volts.

I'll answer your question. BM + DS1? That will work. Put the gain to O on the BM and Use it for boosting. Put the DS-1 infront of the BM. Adjust your tone and gain according to "taste"

i'd do it differently though. i'd set the BM on unity volume with gain set midway (or wherever there's breakup). i'd put the DS1 infront of it, set the DS1 level to 75-100%, and adjust the gain on the DS1 to the point where i get a decent chugging sound.

of course i've never done it, so i guess wala palang kwenta yung sinabi ko (nyek). but i've done it with a modded DS1 (made louder by bunyok) and a TS9.  i'd probably never do it with a stock DS1, though, kase mahina volume ng stock in my experience..

that's worth a shot. try mu din yung 3 dirtboxes in a row. pero lahat sila mababa lang yung gain. parang 3 distortions used as cascading overdrives. i've done it with a DS1, a marshall drivemaster, and a.... naku hindi ko na maalala yung pangatlo hehe.

ang ok kase sa cascading gain stages, for me, is the relative ease i can go into a controllable feedback. basta alalay lang sa gain levels.

actually, it's quite the reverse. dialling the contour knob to zero maxes out the mids, not scooping it.
