Ganda boss. hows the sound? is this the MIC or MIJ version? wanted to try one of this.

Salamat bro!  It's MIC. This video was taken with a GoPro Hero 4 at 720p 60fps pero it still doesn't do it justice. Iba talaga when you are in the same room with the guitar and amp. Pero anyways. Let me know your thoughts on the tone hehe. Cheers!

NGD! I can't wait for this one to arrive. I recently acquired a Japanese Fender. And I think this one is very rare.

It's an STR-1150LS M.

It retailed for 115,000 Yen 25 years ago. Which makes this one of the higher-end Fender Japan Strats produced back then. Very limited run and it's not in the catalog. A 2-piece solid Maple (really) body with an American Standard-like neck with the contoured heel. It has Gold and Red Lace sensor pickups with the clapton boost circuit. It's in pretty good condition thankfully. I hope it sounds and plays decent. I'm excited to know what a maple-body strat sounds like.

I've seen 2 other strats like this but they've got a rosewood finger board. STRs usually come in rosewood I think. I guess that adds to the rarity. Both of these have rosewood necks, I can't seem to find a maple neck one posted online.

Hello Stratocaster enthusiast!

Can you legit check this fender stratocaster MIJ for me, I'm not expert on identifying original and fake.

I'm planning to buy this one. I'm just being careful. Thanks guys!

looks legit..
you can also check the serial number here.
http://www.guitardaterproject.org/fender.aspx
click "Japanese Made" then the serial number and hit submit.

or request for some pictures of guitar's neck pocket and heel.
hindi ko sure kung meron dn naka sulat sa neck pocket ng standar series ng fender strat jap,
but mostly meron naka lagay na st-### sa mga reissues series nila.

This looks like an ST-STD.
Not a reissue I'm afraid.
54, 57 and 62 reissues have a vintage style truss rod on the opposite side of the neck.
The 72 reissues naman should have a bullet style truss rod.
ST-STD strats have 22 frets, most reissues 21 lang.
This looks legit in my opinion.

Hi guys,

I'm having difficulty acquiring a strat similar to Eric Johnson's although it seems like a common strat look -- sunburst, maple fretboard so I am considering Tokai. Question is, how will a Tokai strat fare compared to a Fender? What other brands would you guys recommend for a strat?

I'm partial towards the Squier Classic Vibes over the Tokais.

another question:
how do I fatten the sound or at least not make it too treble-y at the bridge and higher registers without losing the brightness at the lower frets? i can't seem to find that sweet spot on the eq.

sorry but i've been a les paul guy for 14 years and i've just started using strats about 2 mos ago.

its usually the post mids. if you're looking to have a chugchug sound, you need a different pickup. but to fatten, just add some bass on your eq.

what i did was to wire my strat with the tone control to the bridge. so taht I can roll it off to decrease highs.
hahaha ako binibiyak ko muna yung wetpaks para makita kung may yellow thingy hahahaha
