First question, does your motherboard have a PCI-e slot?

Next... budget? :-D

Eto yung mga gaming cards na pasok sa budget mo:
ATI HD4830 / HD4850 or Geforce 8800GT / 9800GT / GTS 250

Take note: dont get a videocard that has lower than 256 bit speed, huwag matukso ng mga 1GB na videocard tulad 9500GT dahil 128 bit bus speed lang yun at balewala ang 1GB dahil maliit ang daanan ng data.

Basta 512mb and 256bit or higher ay pwedeng pang games na high settings
Yung GTA IV bulok talaga, kahit Geforce GTX 260 naglalag dun eh.

get one of the cards that edalbkrad suggested above. they're really good, that is if you can find one that's within your budget.

Happy Video Card hunting!  :-)

Sila yung pinaka top of the line videocard ngayon. Basta wag lang DDR2 kasi sigurado mabagal

8800GT > 9600GT

And for a 5k php budget, the Geforce GTS250 (essentially a rebadged 9800GTX+) beats that.
http://www.tipidpc.com/viewitem.php?iid=3682251 - 5250 bucks for roughly 15% more power than the 8800GT.

Or for 4.2k, you have the Radeon HD4730, which is just slightly weaker than a 9800GT.

Kung di naman mapili ehh you can also opt to scout for 2nd hand 4850/4770s or if luck strikes, you might even find a 8800GTX with a custom cooler on tpc but that's pretty much saying na mag antay ka.

Around 5k ang prices ng 4850/4770 na 2nd if I remember seeing a few correctly and around 4k for the 8800GTX. If ayaw ng 2nd hand, well GTS250 is the way to go.

Gilmore has the shops with the cheapest prices. PCHub and PCOptions in particular. But sometimes the other stores try to beat their prices - so look around and canvass. There's over a dozen stores there.

As for videocard brands - most of them are reputable. XFX, Palit, MSI, ASUS, Sparkle, Inno3D for Geforce cards. Gecube, Palit, Powercolour, Sapphire, MSI, for Radeons. As long as the brand's been in the business for a few years, good na yun.

Besides, most of these cards are exact copies of the reference card, only differing in software bundles. There are, however, OC versions of cards (slightly boosted), as well as ones with bigger, better coolers (Inno3D's InnoChill, Sapphire's Zalman).

You could always go for the cheapest. You could also spend a few hundred more for OC'd versions or ones with aftermarket coolers. Your call. :-D

Basta may PCI-E slot ka, OK na yan.

The only trouble I see with buying a powerful card is your PSU. Kung generic/stock yan, it might be insufficient to power the card.

Check the PSU brand, wattage rating, and the number of amps on the +12V rail (14A = bad. 25A or greater = good).

check mo nga po ito

hmm... it's of poor resolution. But I think it says +12v= 14A

You might want to consider buying a better PSU.

I read the same thing. 14A.

If you're gonna get an 8800GT or better, yeah bgomez is right. Get a new PSU - kahit yung ACBels or HECs na 2k PHP lang, those will do.

Gilmore for the cheapest prices. Kung medyo tinatamad kang dumayo, PC Express stores will do. Basta wag sa malls. Taga.
