If you can pull off for a nice Gibson LP do it as early as you can...just buy it, yung mga bagay bagay na nasa palaisipan ay mawawala nalang sa isang iglap once mabili mo....and it will age well, and it will hold its value and price well..so mas sulit gamitin ng gamitin at alagaan..

nowadays, hirap na magbagsak ng over 50,000 pesos on a guitar na ..kaya my GAS is limited to MIM, MIJ nalang 20-30kish .. haha practical tito mindset na....panginvest nalang ilaan yung budget...

I could still pull off a 6 digit guitar purchase (Lalo na ang dream GAS ay nag shishift na sa mga customshop, boutique builder stuff) but, I need to sell a a few of my other guitars to offset for it...

By the way, may nakita ako sa FB, Les Paul Traditional 67,000 lang yata benta..ganda ng burst..hehe I think hes also from Philmusic..

It never ends really. Delay mo gas or be enslaved by it. Wants and needs are endless.

Good points sir. Totoo yung as long as napapasaya ko nung gamit na binili mo or namemeet yung goals ok na yun.

Same story here. Went abroad for work para mas magkaron ng spending power, ending, nawalan ng bandmates at ng konting time. Nakakapag-noodling pa naman pag gabi dati.

Ngayon mas maayos ang work ko, salary wise and time wise. :-D

Those who have the power to buy those "unicorn" guitars and gears are indeed lucky but I also believe that those who find happiness and fulfillment with their not-so-expensive yet decent gears are lucky too.

By the end of the day eto lang naman tanong nga sabi ni sir randy, "ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?"
Instead of searching for what to buy next, why not search for what to learn next?

My point in this long post is that a musical instrument is only valuable if it is fulfilling a purpose set by the player/owner. No one should dictate you why you should not be happy or content with what you have. You should set your goals when searching for the right tone. Be HONEST TO YOURSELF and ask the question, ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?

Quite true. I can pretty much relate to your story. Though the gear I've acquired doesn't really reach the level of your collection. I also asked myself this question, "Are you happy now?"
For the most part of my active times in Philmusic I was always GASing, always looking for the next best thing. But I came to this realization that I don't really need a lot of gear to be happy. All I ever really needed was a good and comfortable guitar a decent amp and some form of OD/Dist. I began to downsize the gear I was using and kept a very minimalist setup. After that I didn't really crave for anything else. Perhaps that's why I've never really visited Guitar Central anymore(I can't remember my last post/visit perhaps around 2010ish. Quite honestly I'm just here browsing again cause I recently moved and left my amp and pedals at my old home so I'm in the market for some new replacements.
