UP for this thread! :D

I've been watching the gospelchops.com bass sessionz recently and all I can say is I'm inspired to be excellent in my craft.

Special props kay mark peric (planetshakers), he is very good as soloist pala.. Pag sa tugtugan kasi nila sa planetshakers, mostly dikit sila ng guitars sa areglo and madalang sya mag solo. very inspired din ako sa testimony nya.

Anybody here, who have same thoughts? :D

Sometimes we concentrate to much on the technical side of our worship service, giving priorety to sound, equipments, visual aids, quality of voicing, technique in playing, dynamics...etc. we forget why we are there in the first place! To give God His glory! God first! God has His way in reminding us when we tend to loose our focus on Him, and He reminds me in His own way "batok sa ulo... Ang yabang mo ahh" hehehe.. This teaches me to look and treat people around me in a loving and patient way, always uplift not to put down, especially doon sa nahuhule. Never forget to pray before and after service. God first before anything else, then everything will fall in to place.

I fully agree but we should not offer anything less to Him, at all times we must give the best we can.

Yes! very useful, naka full band kami sa Mass before worship, iyng nga lang we try to keep the mass portion as solem as possible, and some songs we just let the keyboard go solo.

Pwede.. i play bass guitar sa Holy Mass...naka full band set up din kami with keyboard, acoustic guitar and cajon..
pero depende din sa line-up of songs..We're doing this in some occasions like Christmas Season (Dawn Mass), Fiesta, Wedding Mass... Pero for Lenten and Advent Season.. Keyboard lang gamit namin.  :)

Nagaalanganin lang kasi kami, baka hindi rin marinig. Kailangan pa ba namin ng high watt amps? O direct connect na sa speaker ng church? . Yun din kasi yung iniisip ng Moderator ng choir kung possible bang i full band set up namin ang mass.

Eto set-up namin

1. Keyboard + 60W Amp
2. Bass Guitar + 60W Amp
3. Electric-Acoustic Guitar + 40W Amp
4. Beat Box + 40W Amp
5. 2 condenser Mic For Choir - direct to mixer

Oks naman para sa size ng simabahan namin.. Pero mas maganda kung naka line-out pa din sa mixer.. then try to balance the volume level..
Also we use chimes and shaker..

But take note.. hindi lahat ng line-up sa HOLY MASS e kailangan naka-full-band..

Share lang ako ng blessing

Several months ago we had a Religious activity, so on our first practice day sa house ng one of our memebers, I brought my promethean 5110 bass amp. When I switch in on, Umusok! the smell of burnt wiring filled the room! I immediatly switch it off. Felt so disappointed, cause the same thing happen several months ago and I had it fixed sa service center ng Audiophile. Then after a few months sira nanaman! I felt down, asking my self "Lord, what is it Your trying to tell me? what lesson are Your trying to teach me?". Anyway a few weeks ago I was invited to be a guest bassist in another sister community for their thanks giving concert. And sa bahay lang ang practice so I brought my "sirang" 5110 to use its speaker ang plug it with a small 60watt Karoke amp, "I did not bother to take out the 5110 detachable amp". I decided to leave the 5110 amp w/out the karoke amp for the next practice. The guys I left the amp with decided to try the 5110 for their worship on sun, and guest what it worked! and its working without any issues! I was so thankful that the guys tried it out, I may have never used it and have just had it fixed. Pero what a blessing! Just when I really need it. Our Lord works in mysterious ways!
