Title: peeves' DIY Electronic Drumkit
Post by: peeves24 on July 10, 2007, 02:11:20 PM
panoorin mo to

tapos basahin mo to http://www.drumjunction.com/ret_percussion.html

ok ba yun? OKEI??????

sige bro, good luck!

keep us posted.

interested ako dun sa performance / sensitivity ng trigger to midi and the triggers themselves.

Ayos yan. Tapos gagamit ka ng ableton live? :-) he he he...

dami na info sa net about making triggers at available dito yung parts. pag sinipag siguro ako gawa ako blog ulit

I use DIY drumkit at my studio. Visit the link at my sig to see the pics.

Me and my friend also made a DIY trigger to midi converter found here: www.edrum.info (http://www.edrum.info) which is kind of like the alesis trigger io at a very low price! hehe

pag cut nung foam cylinder:

im making 2 sizes, one using blue soft foam to be mounted on the pan and will isolate the piezo from vibration. the smaller pipe will be used to cut a denser foam which will be on top of the piezo and will have contact with the head

parang ganito

Grabe and tiyaga mo Peeves!  :-o

Wala akong talent to do these things. I have toyed with the idea but was discouraged by my wife. Baka daw gumastos lang ako at di ko mapagana he he.

What module are you planning to use? May Alesis DM5 sa classified ads for 8.5k pero mukhang nabenta agad.

madali lang, minimal electronics knowledge (soldering lang kailangan) tapos research sa internet. nabili ko na lahat ng kailangan ko, di pa umabot ng 2k kung hindi kasama yung hoops na gagamitin. i was thinking of making plywood hoops too to further lessen the cost but i think regular flange hoops will be more durable.

is that my triggers Pao? Hehehe!!

Get a TD3. I just got one.

di na ko makakabili ng drum module, the force was not with me yesterday and i could not resist the dark side: naibili ko ng dslr yung pera ko

this little baby works like a charm...i highly recommend it!

mura, gumagana, nakakaaliw

ginawa ko na yung piezo assembly kaninang madaling araw (di makatulog, nag aadjust pa sa time zone ng pinas ulit). velocity sensitive yung trigger io kaya pwede nya macapture yung soft to loud hits. di lang yun, kaya nya rin makuha emulate yung parang kaluskos na tunog kapag ginuhit mo yung stick mo sa ibabaw ng head or parang brush stroke

BFD Lite yung included software nya for drum sounds. very impressive yung tunog at yun na gagamitin ko ngayon (dati dfh ako). yun nga lang kailangan mo ng asio soundcard para gumana yung BFD lite.

cheapest asio sound card is the behringer uca202. download nyo lang yung asio driver sa behringer website. like i said, works like a charm...

Uy Alesis Trigger IO! Same module ng Alesis USB Pro with Surge Cymbals. Ganda ng reviews niyan. Buti BFD Lite ang kasama. Mabigat daw sa system resources ang BFD2. Enjoy!  :-)

something stupid...

14" fiberglass cymbal

tapalan ang butas
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3260/2660404588_1c99089e0e.jpg)

ihanda ang kapaligiran
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3292/2660406992_2b8dc1b370.jpg)

dual-zone drum testing

isang piezo sa taas to detect direct hits
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3088/2668952181_d973a0b98c.jpg)

(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2208/2668951997_1945b31c16.jpg)

this small circuit makes it happen. my own mod to the keith raper piezo switch.

found at last!!!

(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3172/2682435756_50d6304b93.jpg)
foam para sa trigger

cutting na
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3273/2682436046_375ffc6e37.jpg)

at eto na
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3100/2681617715_79b6c18907.jpg)

(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3082/2682429504_e1d6141480.jpg)

o di ba sukat na sukat sa head :-D
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3006/2682429526_c2a3a8547d.jpg)

trial
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3296/2682429516_8c3d4b8779.jpg)

pwede wiiiii
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3271/2682429512_7ebb2129a1.jpg)

kaya lang may problem ako. nagfleflex yung paso kasi plastic at masyadong maliit yung base nya kaya bitin dun sa trigger frame
(http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3238/2682429524_5da3886c7f.jpg)

now i have a touch sensitive (not squeeze) choke

a thin plate of metal over a pcb board. no other thin separator material needed and it works like a charm.

i didnt have ferric chloride the other night and i was so anxious to test the idea that i literally "etched" the pcb with a knife.

im still looking for a small enclosure to clean this up.

its one butt-ugly snare and im not proud of it. pantawid gutom na muna until sipagin ako para gumawa ng mas maganda. importante gumagana sya.

(http://imageshack.us/a/img6/7584/cdhy.png)

stereo inputs po sya so me rim shot po talaga no?

last question na lang sir, ano po ang magtrigger sa rimshot? kasi diba me dalawang piezo? isa sa side, isa sa head... kelangan bang simultaneous sila magvibrate para mag trigger sa rimshot or yung piezo lang sa side?
Title: Re: peeves' DIY Electronic Drumkit
Post by: peeves24 on September 12, 2013, 03:16:54 PM
depende sa module. di ko alam sa td5 pero sa alesis trigger io ko dati dual zone is just 2 single inputs. makikita mo to sa midi kasi magkaiba yung midi note nung main pad sa rim. for the trigger io, there's no such thing as hitting both pads simultaneously, isa lang sa kanila yung matritrigger.

kung dual zone snare, tapos 2 inputs from module gamitin.  Set yung 2nd input sa rimshot sound. Sacrifice nga lang isang input obviously.

Peeves, anong monitors yung nasa pic?

dati may medeli dual zone snare sa tms di ba?

now i have a touch sensitive (not squeeze) choke

a thin plate of metal over a pcb board. no other thin separator material needed and it works like a charm.

i didnt have ferric chloride the other night and i was so anxious to test the idea that i literally "etched" the pcb with a knife.

im still looking for a small enclosure to clean this up.

Title: Re: peeves' DIY Electronic Drumkit
Post by: peeves24 on July 05, 2017, 11:30:25 PM

Title: Re: peeves' DIY Electronic Drumkit
Post by: harmonicconverger on July 06, 2017, 11:56:49 AM
Title: Re: peeves' DIY Electronic Drumkit
Post by: peeves24 on July 06, 2017, 08:00:48 PM
hindi raper kailangan mo. kung diy yung cymbal, improve mo lang yung isolation ng mga piezo dun sa ride to avoid false triggering and crosstalk. dual zone naman input nung trigger io kaya di mo kailangan yung raper circuit

Ahhh. I see. Salamat sir. :) Thank you thank you po..:)
Title: Re: peeves' DIY Electronic Drumkit
Post by: peeves24 on July 06, 2017, 11:37:58 PM

yung raper circuit, dalawa purpose nya:

1. yung old piezo/switch input pwede mo saksakan ng piezo/piezo so pwedeng dual zone cymbal e.g. ride and bell o kaya dual zone pad isa center at isa sa rim.

I have a question sir Peeves. I have an alesis dm7x and yung toms nya is dual zone. right now, yung middle portion is for the toms but the edges are for my additional cymbals.

I am planning on diy'ng para may seperate cymbals talaga. Not sure where to start but I think from the cable na nag coconnect sa isang tom, need ko ng splitter para meron pa akong input sa tom and for the diy cymbal. tama ba?

thanks!

yes tama. Y splitter lang kailangan mo

thanks for the response sir peeves.

sorry ha, confused pa rin ako. noob regarding electronics.

pag dual zone ba stereo yung cable? if thats so, kung iisplit ko sya, dapat may specific wiring yung pagdating sa stereo cable from the module itself. tama ba?

thank you again!

yung raper circuit, dalawa purpose nya:

1. yung old piezo/switch input pwede mo saksakan ng piezo/piezo so pwedeng dual zone cymbal e.g. ride and bell o kaya dual zone pad isa center at isa sa rim.

Thank you so much sir. Clear na sya saken ngayon. Akala ko ko po kasi nun ang raper circuit is to avoid crosstalk for dual zone pads. Ngayon malinaw na po. Salamat po ng marami sir. Napakalaking tulong.
