Title: What to do when shipping your Guitar
Post by: Screamous on May 16, 2017, 02:16:00 PM
Hi

I'm not sure kung naitanong na ba ito, kaya itatanong ko nadin po,

ano po ba ang dapat gawin when shipping your guitar from different country?

(assume na check-in sya and in a hardcase)

some people told me you need to loosen the strings of the guitar to lessen the pressure.
^give na floating bridge need din ba i loosen yung screws sa spring ng bridge?

some people told me need mo tanggalin yung neck (depends sa gitara, i think..)

some people told me let it be

so ano po ba ang dapat and safest?

thank you po sa sasagot

here's what i personally do.
1. hardcase is a must. if you love your instrument its always a must to invest in a hardcase. if the guitar doesnt come with a case, hiscox cases is what i buy.

2. has been my practice for years, i loosen the string tension. regardless if it has a fixed bridge or a floating bridge.

3. i dont take off the neck. for me atleast.

4. i fill up the case with foam peanuts. this will ensure zero movement of the guitar inside the case itself.

5. i wrap the case with bubble wrap. sayang din if ma dent yung case. :)

6. i then wrap it with a box. usually the box that came with the case or the guitar box itself.

tl;dr: wrap it like a tank.  :)

Take the neck off, use bubble wrap and lots of tape.
