The problem with Dan Brown is, you read one book, you've read them all.  All throughout his four previous books (i've read all of them), he used the same plot points, and simply changed the characters and the scenes.  There would always be the main character in a dream, an event that puts the world in danger, a person who got killed, a bad guy you least suspect, and a "bad ass" cop-like character.

The advantage of ebooks is the physical space that you can save. But yeah, I still prefer the so-called dead trees. Sunday morning at the porch, reading a good hard cover or a paper back, endless coffee and occasional chat with the wife. :) (I'm getting old, damn it!)

The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain
Kakatapos lang. Hay! Grabe para tong libro nato. Ang hirap intindihin! Akala ko pambata hindi pala. Siguro mga 25% lang naintindihan ko sa pinagsasabi ni Mark Twain  Hindi siya easy reading. Not recommended for beginning readers. (So beginner pala ako )

I'll put in the cliche +1 (because I'm a Gaiman fan), he he he. His latest is The Graveyard Book. Premise is that a boy was raised by ghosts (much like Tarzan raised by apes).

Jonahtan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach
A very simple book with a very powerful message. I would recommend it to all as well.

Take note, though.  Most people think this book is about religion, when it's actually about spirituality.

A good way to start reading F. Sionil Jose's works. (Baka ma-nosebleed ako pag sa Rosales saga agad ako nagsimula.) Tsaka sinisimulan ko na rin basahin ito:

question, e-books or hardcopies?

Hard copy kasi iba pa din ang feel ng may binubuklat ka, yung tunog ng papel as you turn the pages, and yung paglalagay ng bookmark. But I have to resort to e-books sa iPhone ko because the nature of my work requires me so.
