2ndary hi hats usually come in 2 variations:
1. fixed setting (i.e. sonor x-hat around 2.5k pesos)...either fully closed or semi-closed
2. remote hi hats (i.e. pearl rh2000 around 15k)... as the name implies, it is remote controlled, it usually comes with a 3meter cable, common issues of concerns with such types are its responsiveness (specially the DW5000 remote variation, may konting delay daw despite adjustments), the elims is by far the most responsive and customisable there is out there at the moment.
3. a more recent addition to the remote hi hat variation is DW's 9500 universal remote hihat (around 15-20k)...but i find that its more of an extension or geared towards people
with concerned with the position of their main hats rather than a secondary hat.
catalogue says: Using DW’s Universal Linkage Assembly, the 9550 achieves lightning-fast response and a smooth, effortless feel. It can be placed on either side of the kit, making it a multi-position primary hi-hat or a versatile auxiliary hi-hat for secondary hat sounds and effects cymbals.
