since limited ang table space, mas madaling inavigate using the trackball. pati sa studio na pinagrerecordan namin, trackball sila.

+1

Question:

May dalawa akong rhythm guitar tracks, acoustic, playing the same chords but with variations (say yung isa barre na G major tapos yung isa open G). Each is mic'd basically at the same spot with the same mic, mono lang. Of course, phase problems happen. I tried delaying a track up to 20ms and/or flipping the phase. I still get either a comb filter effect or a trippy wave effect. Any suggestions?

standard drum kit parin, pero use a wood snare tapos mejo loose yng tuning, less velocity, no open hihats, ride and hats lang tska splash.

tapos reverb. para soft sounding.

si SuperiorDrummer meron siyang patch for jazz/cocktail kit. solid na yun paps.

pan one to the left, pan one to the right. mahirap yung ginawa mo kasi same micing technique na nga, same guitar pa.

next time magkaibang mic and positioning na gagamitin ko

if so, any tips for widening the sound stage? since a lot of my stuff is close miked, i don't really know how to make reverbs work the way it should. di kasi nagccreate ng space yung mga reverb ko. I must be doing something wrong  :-(

also, if anyone knows how to do that delay on the other side to make a wide soundstage trick, please teach me! I tried it once, puro mud lang ang nangyayari  :-( I'd like to use it on rhythm acoustic guitars, which is one of the most common applications of the technique.  :)

get a better reverb plugin. particularly, yung may room simulator.

yung sa delay, i used to pan left and right, pero not too extreme, tapos delay ko yung right by 10ms. check mo si voxengo stereo, it does that for you by a knob.

also, next time, try to position mics differently, or use a different mic, or use a different guitar. mahirap talaga pag same na same ang equipment and technique, hindi lilitaw yung pag ka multi track ng guitar.

ako, i use a TAKAMINE EG340C, miced and then the piezo is on another track as well, I get extra Treble lang from the piezo, then the main guitar sound is via the AT2020 condenser, mic'ed on the soundhole.

next track, I mic my YAMAHA F310 Acoustic on the 12 fret; or if it calls for it, i mic it sa bridge lalo na pag strumming para makuha yung attack.

then same technique, slight panning, tapos reverb. I don't delay na.

walang phase problem yung pag mix nung micd at DI signals nung Takamine? konting tipid pa tapos bibili na ako ng Phoebus

wala kasi different sounding talaga sila in general. still considered electric guitar signal so may inherent brightness yung DI sound, so kinukuha ko lang yung treble or sparkle nung DI Track. yung sound niya galing parin sa mic-ed.

i just had this wild idea of using electric guitar > aco sim > aco body impulse response as the second guitar to the F-330. Hmmmmm...

unless the electric guitar is equipped with a piezo pickup, i would advise against this dahil nagiintroduce ng noise ang mga acoustic sim dahil sa increase in treble. pag nagnoise gate ka naman mawawalan ka ng dynamics. so... boom. painstall ka nalang ng elliot lemi haahha

Try mo 'to bro. Very useful if your panning doesn't help create a stereo effect.

^Left, Center, Right.. ibig sabihin yata nun is almost always hard panning or don't pan at all. haha

Re: LCR. Maganda rin maghard pan, pero siyempre, as usual kadalasan mas maganda pag not totally by the rules hehe.
