playing as loud as he possibly can
playing all over the place (just saw a dude hit every tom and cymbal on every line of STP's Plush just to do the same fills in all the songs in their set)
- doing fills after every line in a verse an chorus
- doing the same fills for every song
inappropriately playing double bass
not bringing his own set of sticks
borrowing other drummer's gear
no water supply on stage
clipping flingernails just right before a gig

and...

no extra shirt to wear after the set..  :-D

nagc-crash ng malakas using the tip ng drumstick... causing it to...
break...

after more that 1 year, ang drumstick na gamit ko mula 2nd year nabali na rin...
(not only the nylon tip... putol talaga haha)

Umaasa madalas sa adrenaline.

Walang dynamics, laging malakas ang palo!

Limited ang pag hinga habang nag da-drums.

Nalilimutan mag warm-up bago tumugtog.

mental block.

pagsunod sa gitara kapag tumututog, its a bad habit...
always remember ikaw dapat ang sinusundan, never skip the neccessary fills at covers, and dont add unnecceassary fills especialy at mellow songs

there are rich kid type newbies who buy really expensive equipment but not knowing what they are for, its a waste of money and a bad image, carrying around double pedals when you cover songs from hale and mellow types

there was this kid who once thought i was showing off to him during our set, nagmadali syang umuwi kinuha nya yung stock pedal nya chaka sya nagpaparinig na main pedal nya daw yun.

yung isa naman naka gibraltar intruder sya na double peds pero hale yung covers nila, he never used the slave pedal and consumed too much time setting up

to the newbies; never try to show off, maraming humahanga sa ganung tipo

Nuff said bro. di na mapapaganda pa yang sinabi mo. sobrang totoo.

there are also some newbies who claim to be the best, pinaka kasumpa-sumpa sila!

well eto cguro nasa list: being a liar just to be able to show off; mga ibang newbies mga bastos kinakausap mo ng matino isasagot sayo kasinungalingan!

you know who you are!

If you just stick to one genre, yeah gagaling ka nga dun. Pero you don't really add anything new to it. You simply are good with what other drummers have been doing for the longest time. Pero let's say you a rock drummer, with a show band background..isipin mo ang bigat nyo pero ang ladkit ng tunog..Sarap!

HAHAHAHAHA!! Nagpapractice sa ilalim ng pool?!

ako sa kanal.. san ka pa?

not learning the basics of drumming... just playing anything he/she can... oo nakakatugtog ka nga kulang pa rin kaalaman mo.. yung mga drum exercises, etc... madali lang tumugtog... pero siyempre kailangan rin talaga ng formal drum lessons... drummer namin ngayon may lessons sa tatay ni drumbi... i forgot he's name, eto drum video niya sa youtube (yung tatay niya ang nagtuturo sa drummer namin ngayon baka kilala nyo hehe)
(when he was 7)

After the jam session, bumanat ang gitarista nang ganito...

Andoon ako habang sinasabihan nya ko.  17 years old ako nito.

I learned.

From that moment on, tuwing may mapapanood ako or maririnig akong drummer, inaalam ko kung sino ang influence nya.

WAKAS...   :-D

@peter

then me one time na from death metal band ako biglang jump ng showband me isang song akong pinaluan na mental block ako almost at the end of the song bigla akong huminto...waaaaahhh!!! kahiya na ito!

Newbie mistakes...

no rudiment foundation
no metronome orientation
no ear protection
