One of my long time buddies owns an Ibby with an EMG 81/EMG 85 pair and an EMG expander circuit. I played it during sound check during our Christmas party last year and it totally owns at high gain. Definitely for metalheads. The cleans are a bit lack-luster but that's not why he set it up with those pups anyway. If you're into metal you should definitely go for it bro

CTS pots and Import/Alpha Pots





so i found a few cool offer for new A500K CTS pots in ebay for 2.00usd each, so i got a couple since my usarg's old CTS pots for the volume had seen better days..

pots arrived and they look really well made than our normal alpha/import pots..i got the usarg completed and its like new again..so i figured why not change the j.customs pots as well..i would thought that the j.custom would be routed to take CTS pots..but alas..it only takes ALpha/Import pots and to fit a CTS pot..would mean widening the whole..fine if it was a pickguard..but im not taking any chances in doing that..

Tone-wise i dont hear any thing different between CTS to Alpha..and i would still continue to use alpha pots if the guitar doesnt have a CTS pot routing..(cts being wider in a few mm than alpha pots)..if there was it would be subtle and wouldnt even be noticed..

Feel-Wise if you didnt know it was CTS or Alpha you wouldnt know..

so it doesnt matter really..IMO
