this looks great for the price. the present Dave Mustaine signature G2 already costs 15k at JB. adding a bit to that price to get all those goodies is just insane...

Meet the Zoom G5, which combines a stompbox pedalboard, multi-effects pedal,USB audio interface and more into a single sleek machine.
With four stomps and one pedal, the G5 has four LCD displays with three knobs under each one, so you can quickly tweak your parameters and navigate through the effect chain. The G5 has 20 built-in amp models with its own distinct cabinets, and you can have up to nine stompbox and amp effects running at the same time – allowing you to intricately shape your sound how you want it. You’ll also have your pick from over 120 built-in DSP effects, such as wahs and flangers, and you can save up to 297 (99 banks x 3 patches) custom presets for quick recall later on.
The G5 also features a unique Tube Booster, which can amplify your sound with up to 16db of overdrive, which is perfect for highlighting solos or adding a few notches of volume for recording. Zoom claims that they’re brand new sigmoid curve-clipper faithfully emulates true tube amp distortion, and the realistic sound produced is due to the 32-bit floating point processing via the brand new ZFX-IV DSP effects processor. (But that still remains to be seen, or rather, heard.)
Additionally, this hybrid machine has a Z-pedal, which can detect sideways movement, providing you with multidimensional control, which is supposed to allow you to build even more intricate sound patterns. The G5 has a built-in drum machine and live Looper, the latter of which allows you to record up to a a minute of live phrases and overdubs. It can also double up as a USB audio interface which you can use in tandem with your favorite DAW, making this new stompbox/effects pedal from Zoom, an all-in-one package.
Freshly unveiled at NAMM 2012, price is to be announced soon, and is expected to be available later this year.

ang pogi ng kulay. silver white tapos light green LCD. nice. sana maganda tunog at isang pindutan lang yung tube boost function.
at sana iba na rin yung processor nito. medyo bitin kasi yung power ng G3 tapos parang g2 lang yung tunog. dapat kasi kung bago malaki yung leap from the previous generation in terms of sound like what line6 did with the pod then the pod hd.

They sure are--for people who don't know what they're doing.
The same goes for virtually any other modern multi-effects unit in the market today. Basta marunong kang magtimpla, makukuha mo yung tunog mo. Sa features na lang talaga nagkakatalo. Kailangan mo lang piliin yung babagay sa structure ng songs na tinutugtog mo.

Nagkaroon ka na ba ng G series sir? I use to own G2, G2.1u, G1 and G7.1ut....at nakakuha ako ng magagandang tone. Kung di lang nasira after 3years yung foot switch hindi ako magpapalit.

.... ang hirap lang sa ibang user or new user sa multiFX, gusto pag-saksak lalabas na malupit na tunog na hinahanap nila... :eek: mga factory setup yun ang yung ibang nakaprogram dun ay galing zoom mismo with their own amp & guitar or mixer.. kaya malayo talaga ang difference nila kung sa amp at guitar mo.. or kaya sa store... ... you need to read the manual ang long process of tweaking.. yun lang...

yeah. was quite disappointed with the amp sims of my G3. hindi nila nakuha yun tunog nung mga amp e, though i liked the VOX AC30 amp sim, yun lang :)
as for the mods, delays and reverbs, malayo na yun tunog nila sa mga lumang zoom :) mas malinaw and tweakable PLUS ang friendly ng interface, andali galawin. i dare say it, yun mods/delays and reverbs kaya sumabay dun sa lumang M13 ko possibly even better :)

One bank = 3 patches. 1 patch can have upto 9 effects. So if you'd be playing it live, i suggest you put one or two sequential banks for one song. Unless the songs you play need multiple patches each, it's gonna be hard.
Per bank, you can select one of the three patches by stepping on the 1, 2, or 3 buttons. So when playing a song for example, intro goes into patch 1 of bank 1 and first verse goes into patch 2 of bank 1 and chorus/refrain goes to patch 3 of bank 1. Then go back to patch 2 of bank 1 when it goes to the 2nd verse. If the song progresses and you need more effects, store them in the patches of bank 2.
Hope it makes sense and helps you. But that's one way I would do to make switching patches easier. I'll look for a video for a more visual example. :)

nasubukan ko na. had 3 hrs with a unit. tried through a power amp. ok naman. you can get close to a pod hd sound with minimum tweaking. the best yung boost function. line 6 should have that too. down side is pangit pa rin yung wah sounds. at kulang sa volume response through the power amp section. mas maganda tunog niya sa g3.

Walang anuman, sir. Hehe. Anyway, i don't think it would be that hard to step on two footswitches at once unless you're doing it barefoot. Pero oo, minsan may sablay nga kahit nakasapatos. Pero naisip ko, since I hate stepping on pedals with dirty shoes (I actually prefer doing it barefoot. Total, sa bahay lang naman ako nagiingay eh. :-D), I might use two strips of metals long enough to touch the top of the footswitches and glue them there or whatever. One strip for bank down (footswitches 1-2) and another for bank up (2-3). So if i'd just step on the middle of the strips, sabay mapipindot yung dalawang footswitches diba? But it would ruin the G5's aesthetics.

Ahhh. I had a G1XN before kasi. I don't know what was wrong with it pero I didn't like the wah. Though I'm still a bit of noob. I'll see na lang. Hehe. Thanks for this bit of info. :)

ah ok sir,, gustu ko din bumili, kya lng iniisip ko pa mabuti kung di ba hassle yung process nang pgchange bank habang tumutugtug.. sayang kasi pera kung may mga hassle about effects.. post uli kau sir pag nagamit nyo na G5 nyo.. thanx..

I know it switches the z-pedal function on or off when the it's pressed (just like the foot switch underneath most of the wah pedals). But my pedal can't reach the switch even when it's fully pushed down. Help please.

..at first hindi ko din alam bakit hindi umaabot sa switch yung pedal.. turned out kelangan mo lang talaga diinan yung apak sa footpedal para "mapisa" yung rubber stopper para umabot and mapindot yung switch sa ilalim. Check mo yung rubber sa ilalim, hindi solid rubber yun, hollow and may cuts para 'bumigay' with enough pressure.
anyway - solved na pala ng nag psot ng question.
..anyway ulit.. i love the G5 :)

Yes bro maspipiliin ko G5 over sa HD300/400. Iwan na iwan kasi sa function yung 300/400 eh. Yung G5 kasi halos same na sila ng function ng HD500. Pero soundwise Line6 HD series pa rin ako. :-)

actually masmadali gamitin ang hd300/400. masbusog lang features ng g5. usually ang down side kapag busog sa features is nagiging complicated na. tipong ang dami nang parameters etc. pero sa mga mahilig magtweak, panalo yun! :-D
