kasi ang karamihan ngayon ng band sa school ay Drum & Lyre Corps, (no note reading....)daming talents sa atin  pero limited resources....teka meron ding mga marching band talaga,sa QC,dati  sa Lagro, sa school malapit sa SM city, sa Manila sa Arellano high at sa Magsaysay High (where i used to be the Band Director before i went abroad) etc....

anyway, those who wants to learn band instruments.. i got some books saved on pdf files..bk 1 & 2...ok ipamahagi from the author/publisher....got it form a band director site...so no worries.....pero... u need someone to guide you personally... iba rin kasi ang may totoong teacher......

Self toture ang tawag sa ginagawa mo sis.... di ko maimagine kung paano natatagalan ng lips mo ang pressure between the mouthpiece and your teeth... but I admire you coz you have the guts, the eagerness to learn, and the initiative to do what you really want. it's unusual to know individuals like you.... keep it up....  8-)

UPDATE:

ordered a beginner bach trumpet from a guy my friend referred. that guy is known for importing brasses and supplying local major orchestras. will get it by 3 weeks time.

in the mean time, i've been practicing with a mouthpiece and occasionally borrowing a trumpet from orchestra mates.

truly, it was very hard to make the trumpet,or mouthpiece rather, sound with braces. i've only got the hang of it by the 3rd day.
Now, (its my fifth day), i am able to consistently make the trumpet sound and little by little, creating a fuller tone. My problem is that i could not hold a note long enough when i play. hehe. and i do not have control of the notes i play. hehehehe.

basically, thats it. cant wait for my trumpet to arrive.

why torture? dahil sa braces? actually medyo sanay na ako sa pain. including na rin ung numbness ng lips after. gusto ko talaga eh. :)

buti ka pa this week na ang dating..... yung sakin sa november pa....

big time ka talaga sis.... sa CCP ka pa kukuha ng titser....

nung ako pinagtry magtrumpet(i think it was 18 years ago), they gave me a match stick. dapat daw ganyan lang kaliit ang butas ng lips to blow to the mouthpiece. i did not pay much attention pero effective. the sound is clear but they did not push me to learn the trumpet and gave me the sax instead...

try ko rin itanong kung available yung isang teacher ko.... he is from parañaque... san ka ba located? you can send me a PM so we can arrange the session and the location.... but of course, it's still your call if you want to try...

hahaha. nahihiya nga ako magpaturo dun eh? :p I DONT KNOW ANYTHING!! haha.

mahirap yata kung sakin gawin ung match stick thing. I have a protruding set of upper teeth kasi plus ceramic (thicker than metal) braces. So yeah, its quite crowded. hahaha. Hindi daw pang trumpet ung natural form ng mouth, lips and teeth ko. Oh well!! PILITIN!!! hahaha.

im located... FAR from paranaque. haha. and I, i mean my parents, prefer music schools over private tutors. :(

no problem sis... I understand.... but just to give you an idea, the teachers from a school are also band members outside the school. siguro ang difference lang is that they might give you a class card and the teaching will be held @ school....
also, there is a big chance na i-recommend nila sayo na tutorial na lang ang gawin to  cut the fee a little lower.
at I haven't heard of any school that offers special courses on music. ang alam ko, the music teacher making a sideline in the school which he/she is in but the offer is only good for the students of the school.... tapos amy recital pa para feel na feel ng bata na marunong na siya.... ... but I won't hinder you with your way. I am only giving you ideas coz i've been there...

about dun sa match stick, pinalagay nya yun sa center ng lips ko then I closed my lips and relaxed. tapos dahan-dahan pinaalis sakin so that my lips will form a hole... then patong ng mouthpiece tapos buga ng hangin and a little pressure... that is when I had my first note.... SOL......

,White Dress
Choose to marry off-season
The wedding season is between May to October each year. Therefore, in addition to the time period, such as January,Karen Millen Dresses, because you do not have to face the shortage and rising in tandem with the price, but have the opportunity to find affordable sellers.
Popular festivals to avoid
Valentine’s Day flowers must be the highest annual price you will pay the price several times higher than usual; and Christmas Eve there will be many families and friends looking for a place to celebrate, the hotel booking rate of a certain high,Blue Dress, your wedding was compressed hours, dresses, overtime costs will double.
Strategic point of wedding dresses
when you need to find the right bridal gown within the budget, try not to pick that too much luxury fabrics and decorative wedding. The silk organza, silk faille fabric are good choices because they look better and the actual price is worth much more.

Yes, I agree and wonder what is happening to this section of the website. More than 50% of the posts are for advertisement of horns for sale and there is even one about ordering goods abroad  which have been repeated over and over again. It seems na wala naman pumanpansin!
