Then do your hobby... which is music... Have FUN with it!

When you don't think of money... and you think of music first... then go indie!

Hopefully, hindi ka pressured dun... kasi hobbie siya you can come up with a great poem/song... some people may or may not appreciate it but still you're having fun!

I-Clarify ko lang po:

Chong, wala po akong sinasabi na gusto ko mabawasan ang mga banda.....

Sinabi ko lang na medyo marami na ang mga banda sa panahon ngayon to the point na overcrowded na ang music scene... It's just my observation. Please don't jump into conclusions my friend. Wag po tayo mag-assume kaagad sa mga bagay na hindi naman tayo sigurado.

Paki-basa nalang po ulet yung pinost ko at hanapin nyo kung meron po akong nasabing ganoon..... Sa katunayan, may nakasulat pa nga doon na "Wala naman pong masama eh..."  8-)

Pag-isipan muna po natin yung mga ire-reply natin sa mga opinion ng iba bago natin ito i-post. Baka po kasi mali na ang mga nasusulat natin. Yun lang po.  :-)

And yup, I do support Indie bands... especially yung mga underrated ones.

ok. answer this. Since your so called observation reveals that the local airwaves are overcrowded, what do you think should be done then? if you support the local "zene" what can you do for the local airwaves now? or you are just observing?

i guess you should also watch the way you post rather / or more than you see the way other people post.  :-)

Chong, hindi naman po literal yung meaning ko nung "analogy" ko eh. It's just a simple metaphorical analogy na WALANG HALONG MASAMA.  :-) Kanya-kanya po kasi tayo ng opinion/perception kaibigan. Wag nyo po sana ako pangunahan. Opinion-bashing na po kasi ang nangyayari eh. I'm just posting my opinion based on my own observation. 8-)

Kung na-offend man kayo sa pinost ko, siguro NEGATIVE lang yung pagkakaintindi nyo sa post ko.

Uulitin ko rin po na sumusuporta po talaga ako sa mga indie bands naten. And I'm proud to say na marami na din po akong naibigay na tulong (maliit man o malaki) sa kanila.  8-)

Anyway, My answer to your previous question is:
Since marami na'ng banda ngayon, sana mabigyan ng adequate airtime (if possible) yung iba para may chance na marinig ng tao yung mga kanta nila. Hindi na kasi katulad noon na konti lang ang banda kaya mahaba yung exposure nila sa radyo. So sana, mai-share man lang yung kaunting airtime sa nakararami.  :-D

I should say that I cannot generalize by filling the blank, but, most of the bands that go mainstream don't impress me musically and artistically speaking. Well, that's just my opinion and I am entitled to it. Hahaha.

...sounding more and more like Urbandub. Hell, Urbandub is one of my favorite local bands (I own all their albums except Southern Lights), but it's kind of unsettling hearing 8 out of 10 given bands in any given lineup composed of college students-cum-hipsters sound almost like straight-up carbon copies.

...very diversified.

May mainstream bands. ("If nobody sucks, nobody would be cool.")
May indie bands. (Who really deserve the money)
May underground bands. (Who really need exposure.)

Kaya basically, we have a healthy music scene, because may challenge pa rin kahit na sobrang dami ng mga banda.  :-D

Let's Face it... The Indie and Underground Bands Today are (FMHO) the one we should get more exposed and listened to, because I think they do compositions real good, way better than doing a remake.
