weve seen the professionals' studios..how bout the non-pros?? mga hindi masters dian, post nio pics ng home/not home studios nio!para masaya lahat! :mrgreen: anybody wana take a risk?? :-D

eto, to my fellow philmusic people, i humbly present my personal bedroom-size recording setup, equipments, etc. :roll:
The serious, personal, DIY, recording working station (http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll33/jamming_papu/003.jpg)
Basically its a pc, mixer, monitor speakers, headphone amp, headphone, condenser mic and keyboard. The keyboard also functions as a midi controller. BTW, im using M-audio 2496. Dun naka link yung mixer saka yung headphone monitor or the monitor speakers.

just the same as above, yung nasa pc screen e Ableton LiveLite DAW. Pag marami-raming tracks ang kailangan e Sonar ang ginagamit ko.
Well, syempre kelangan isama ko yung mga 'to. my guitars and their respective amps (http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll33/jamming_papu/004.jpg)
mga entry level guitars lang ung mga yan. same as the amps. fender, line6, ibanez. pag nagrerecord ako ng guitars e condenser yung ginagamit ko or ung record out ng amp.
for additional percussions mayron din akong cajon, chimes, shaker, rainmaker. (no pics available, pamparami lang kasi yun)
with this setup e kayang-kaya na gumawa ng full band song. pati acoustic band na rin. yung mga drum tracks e pwede kunin from Session Drums Midi sa DAW or sa bank-voice ng Keyboards.
still gassing up for a pre-amp. the samson c-valve would be next to be included :evil:. Recording rate is 8 san mig + 1 inihaw na liempo/hour... joke :-D. personal, friends and my band use only :-D.

headphone amp yun. Behringer Miniamp 4 channel headphone. Ginagamit ko while recording using a mic with simultaneous headphone monitor instead of the speakers. Pwede rin sya na signal splitter.

heres my veryvery humble home studio na semi portable..hehe :-D
this is how it usually looks like when im at the condo, since i go to school far away from home.. (the instruments are put away,{yamaha electric, yamaha acoustic, and an old yamaha keyboard-also used as a midi controller}i only have one small peavey amp and no guitar effects, i use guitar rig or amplitube for effects)
but when im home for vacation kasama na drums and meron akong dual monitor daw(very old crt monitor) :-D
-instruments-->mixer-->bbe sonic maximizer(sold)-->audiointerface(uca200)-->laptop with Adobe Audition 3 i also have a m-audio midiman 2x2 then im still saving up for studio monitors, im using audio technica ath m30s for now..(i might have forgotten to name some stuff..)and, i use a behringer c1 studio condensor microphone
heres how it looks like right now :-D (my new toy, korg electribe A) -pasukan nanaman so nasa condo ulit ako
disregard the baygon sticky paper :-P thats it :mrgreen: sino susunod? :-D

mali ka dude. madame pa ako kulang. drum mic set, condenser and dynamic mics, drumset, 8 outs na pre-amp, outboard compressor and equalizer and ang malapit na na mabili biling monitors. hehehe.
unless na mag DIY e-drums na lang ako. (parang mas tipid eh noh? )

i use the c1 as an overhead tapos mga very cheap dynamic mics for the toms n bass. dpa ako nka successfully record ng drums, puro experimenting pako..hehe..i wont be able to get good drum tracks until ive bought a drum mic kit.. :mrgreen:

ganun din dito. puro experiment pa... sa mic, sa DAW, sa soundcard, blah, blah, blah. pero marami na akong nagawang mga multi-tracks.
di ako gaanong makapag-record ngayon at makapag experiment sa DAW kasi busy sa office pag weekdays. tapos pag weekends naman e may mga naka-sked na gagawin din. haaayyy.... :-P
kelangan ko pa maglagay ng drum set, drum mic set, preamps, instrument/amp mics at compressor para makuha yung gusto kong full power and quality ng mga recordings ko. besides that e mas marami pa akong gusto kong ilagay na equipment at software para mas asteg home studio ko... oh well, at least na simulan ko na sya. :-D

welcome!!! sobrang asteg ng mga gears mo dude. from your previous posts here in pro audio and recording i imagine and it seems na high tech and top line yung mga gamit mo. im very impressed with your mics. ang saya! ingit me. :-D
asteg! btw, di pa pala ako nakakapagcomment dun sa last record mo. naghihintay kasi ako na may mauna na mag-comment.
@xjepoyx pimp control room and recording room yun. galing na ako dun 1 time. nung 3rd seminar. i learned so much at that seminar. well, i second the motion na nasa 'master' class na si sir jepoy. :-D

Pasali rin! Mula noong umalis ako ng 'pinas, wala na kong banda kaya nahilig nalang ako sa recording. Closet guitarist na lang ako ngayon at lagi na kong solo flight. thanks for the insight. naramdaman ko rin na lalabas din ang point na 'to on this thread. dito kasi sa pinas, experience ko lang ha, naaasar ako kasi pag nag-reresearch ako (usually sa net) ng item na gusto kong i-add sa gamit ko eh i usually find the better and best items not available locally. tapos pag-kinonvert ko pa sa peso yung price from US based shops on a same item eh mas mura pa sa states. parang unfair. :-P

Just to add ang pagtratrabaho dito eh sa tingin ko eh mas intense kasi masyadong result oriented ang kano, gusto nilang me maipapakita kang pruweba hindi lang sa papel at yun ding nakikita. marami ding puyat at pagod ang pinuhunan para mabili yang gear na yan. 8-)

you can't avoid customs and freight charges. we have to pay those as well on item we in the US have to buy from Japan, europe and elsewhere.

I have to agree with this misconception. It's true na hindi madali ang pera sa US and not all have good paying jobs. My nephew, for ex., needs to have 2 jobs just to make ends meet, so all is not roses in the land of opportunity.
The only difference is that the gear most of us GAS for is usually quite readily available in the US and more often than not, I even read about european citizens complaining that prices are usually cheaper in the US compared to their own countries. Aside from accessibility, there is also the fact that you can order an item over the internet quite easily, with shipping often being free when the purchase goes over a certain amount. Consider yourself blessed in the US. I don't think we still have a credible paypal option here and most US retailers don't ship outside of the US. There are options for us here, but it usually involves having relatives and very good friends in the US, plus the occasional balikbayan.
I would like for more audio equipment brands to be locally available, but it still boils down to whether the local retailer will earn anything from it. Its often a case of importing a known item vs. a very good unknown brand (locally that is), for ex., Shure mics vs. Gefell condensers, ART preamps vs. Studio Projects, or even soundblasters vs. Echo soundcards. Since the market is small, it's pretty hard to justify the expense knowing that only an informed few have any knowledge about such products.

may kakilala akong musikero... nasa 45K USD na ang utang nya sa credit card kabibili ng mga studio equipment kaya ayun... nandito na sya sa pinas para kahit papano makapagtago sa utang nya...

basta may trabaho ka... at may credit card...
madali bumili ng gamit...
madali din kasi magpanggap na maraming alam sa recording yung ibang maraming gamit na wala kami dito sa pinas... tulad na lang nung ibang nakilala ko sa cubase forums. sangkaterba gamit nya talo pa mga gamit ng mga bigating studio dito sa pinas. Pero pag napakinggan mo mga gawa nya... talo pa ang demo quality sa pag ka demo quality.

I am more of a musician than a recording specialist as such my recordings are not professional grade.
i think yan ang isang malaking reason din ng mga merong home studio. Mga musician na hindi nakukuntento sa pagita-gitara o pa-piano piano lang sa pag-gawa ng kanta. at nangangati ka marinig kung ano ichura ng kanta mo as a finished product
mas lumalabas kasi ang creativity kapag walang bayad. kapag hindi mo kailangan bumyahe at kapag ora-mismo ay pwede ka magrecord.
sayang lang wala akong quicktime!!! gusto ko kayo marinig!

you know people can be very passionate about their work, your accusation of stealing music from the internet is seen as an insult not only to the integrity of the musican/artist but also to the people here in this forum. why don't you post that said " music" you downloaded in Limewire and the people in this forum be the judge to verify if indeed there was stealing of other people's music. you are quick to pass judgment and ridicule other people's work. as a passive/active participant in the recording process, i have seen them ( sessionist) labor over the musical piece over and over again just to get that sound and melody that the composer has envisioned in his head. i think you have to read the FORUM RULES AND REGULATIONS before you post something in here..

That comment is uncalled for. Baldo has been recording professional American musicians in his home recording studio basement for the past several months. After laboring for so long, Baldo just recently finished recording a whole album for his Caucasian neighbor. He is just about to master the tracks that's why (if you read the other threads) he's looking into buying an Apogee Rosetta and Genelec speakers. Baldo, Rosetta ka na pala? congrats:) maganda yan na investment. just make sure to get a good master clock as well. I can vouch (and recommend two that I've used and currently own) for the Big Ben and the Antelope OCX. Gusto ko ang Big Ben pero it has been getting long in the tooth. After 6 months with the OCX, I prefer it. I don't do video stuff as much anymore but i understand that they just came out with the 10M and a video optimized OCX-V which are very nice.

i don't know about that pero they are good monitors and they really stand out for mixing jazz, downtempo and ambient IDM and acoustic material which has been my main bread and butter these days. i have genelecs too which I have had for close to 5 years now and they are an excellent choice for well rounded monitors talaga. i had the ADAM S4Vs on loan for mixing and I really liked them so I would like to get a set eventually down the line. i've been busy with projects but i check the posts on here every so often to see what has been going on with the crew. it is good to see that everyone is busy and productive as always:) congrats again!

don't congratulate me yet..wala pa yung project na imimix.. my Event speakers is dying a slow death hehehe including my Alesis Amp powering my NS10 Yamaha.. malapit ng magpaalam after years of service.. kaya mabibitin pa yata ang project ko... hayyy hirap ng wala sa budget. :-(

naka 20/20 ka ba? yeah, i retired mine a couple of years back as well and replaced them with the newer version ASP8s which are pretty good improvements of the Events, IMO. i find them great for rock and dance genres but I still rely on my ADAM A7s and Genelecs for more subtle material. keep me updated, pare.

ayos kanta nila diba? haha. idol ko din sila eh! (bukod sa banda ko syempre! haha!) kung nagustuhan mo yan, mas magugustuhan mo iba nilang kanta. maglalabas sila ng independent album. remind mo ako 1 month later. bigyan kta. first song nila yan, karerecord lang three days ago.

OT na ito : pare oo 20/20.. siguro maganda yung series na yun kasi yun ang pinaka una nilang model..alam mo na para mapansin ng recording world. actually me mahihiram akong Mackie na HR..ano..nakalimutan ko model pero 8 inch spkrs sya pero medyo bassy yung tunog kaya nagtatyaga ako sa Event kong bulok :lol:..
yeah..i agree. i heard a lot about the 626 and 824 but ended up not liking them. the bass was overwhelming for me but i hear they really shine for rock music. thing is, i don't just work with rock and i wanted monitors to span different genres. i recently mixed an ambient and glitch record and the Event ASP8s really handled the bass and detail well. I didn't even need to use my sub to check as often as I thought I would! For some of the more subtle stuff, I relied on the genelecs to smooth out the tone a bit. I didn't get a chance to use the ADAM loaners on the record but I did try em out on a live jazz mix and I was sold on them within a few hours of mixing the set of songs; the detail was excellent!

congrats. maganda yung Rosetta talaga, lalo na pag naka-attach sa quality na clock. fighter ang mga hardware sa Apogee...yung Big Ben ko at Rosetta have always been in constant use and I can't remember ever having a hickup with them. Ditto sa OCX na clock ko which I like more than the Big Ben with my Mytek converters - i guess they just work better together *shrugs*.
I just got done tracking for a local band and I have to do my own gigs quite frequently which is why I haven't been around on the forum much. I do check every so often though for valuable tips:) congrats again and I hope all is well.

with all the gears you have right now, maybe you need a more universal and flexible interface than your guitar link interface. that depends on your recording needs. :-D
then maybe you could go for nice instrument mics tapos reference monitor speakers. and of course, start learning and mastering a DAW. :-D

i was supposed to do an upgrade last july, i wanted buy an 8-input firewire interface but got a dslr instead (which is equally self-satisfying for me). trying to do an upgrade again this coming october, sana matuloy na (at wag mapunta sa lens)

I do not have any pictures of my latest acquisition, but what I am toying around with now is a Zoom H4 4 track digital system. It is capable of different resolutions from 96 khz to MP3 128. Maganda siya. The microphone is good enough to capture srisp and clear recordings. You just have to watch out on your SPLs because it only has low, mid and high control for volume (fader?) control. I've tried recording an acoustic guitar and it sounds very nice. The mic configuration is that of x-y, so you can record stereo sources with no problem. Its media is an SD, capable of up to 2 gig, more than enough to do lots of recordings. It also comes with a Cubase LE program which you put in any computer for editing or manipulation of files. The unit can also accept guitar or keyboard inputs, thus, you can use it as an interface. With firewire, it connects directly into your computer. Mr. Jerico Fernando of JB, the distributor of Zoom, was nice enough to give me a nice price for it. I am truly enjoying this gadget.

I see you've got a triggerfinger and you're on sonar. may auto-mapping ba yung triggerfinger for sonar? hassle nya iset up sa ibang DAW. ive been spoiled by korg's excellent auto-mapping on the microkontrol pero bulok naman yung pads nya.

actually its an akai mpd 16 and not a trigger finger. no problems sa mapping. may 1 pad lang ako na binago sa ezdrummer para dun sa tom 1.
alesis trigger io yung nasa tabi nya, connected sa drum kit.
i dont really use the mpd that much since getting the trigger io. im thinking of using it to trigger samples pero wala ako idea kung anong software ang maganda. any ideas?

Ah, an akai pala. That's a much better unit than the Triggerfinger, also better than the PadKontrol.
To trigger samples when gigging? I'd go with Ableton Live. It was originally designed for live use, and it's audio time stretching properties are great once you get the hang of it. Great midi implementation too IMHO, and its session view provides the perfect workflow view for clip triggering.

i agree with this one... mas maganda nga ang acoustic settings sa sala compared sa mga personal room, unless sinetup mo yung kwarto mo for this one. :-D
kung pwede nga ako mag-record sa sala namin gagawin ko eh, mas maganda tunog ng acoustic guitar saka ng mga amps dun. :wink:

with this setup e kayang-kaya na gumawa ng full band song. pati acoustic band na rin. yung mga drum tracks e pwede kunin from Session Drums Midi sa DAW or sa bank-voice ng Keyboards.
still gassing up for a pre-amp. the samson c-valve would be next to be included :evil:. Recording rate is 8 san mig + 1 inihaw na liempo/hour... joke :-D. personal, friends and my band use only :-D.

I have both Sonar and Live, and I find Sonar better for midi composing; having a great audio engine is a big plus as well. For me, Live is better as a remix tool and it interfaces well with softsynths but has some tricky implementation with hardware midi. It's mostly a personal thing but I like Sonar's piano roll view and implementation better than Live's. Live does excel with loop manipulation and I find it better at that than Cakewalk's own Project 5V2.5 (which I also own).

Yeah, Live's piano roll in the clip view space is pretty cramped. it would be great if it had a detachable sequencer window. Still my baby tho. :-)

well, as i may say, full MIDI features, synths and capabilities of Sonar vs. Ableton? of course winner ang sonar.
however, i primarily use midi in my drum rolls which i find ableton much easier to use. very rare ako gumamit ng midi-synths like fx sounds and keys. in which sonar has dozens stored in it.
im more of an audio track user, in which i find ableton more intuitive to use. :-D

kaya lang, 1 item lang dun yung galing sa in-tune shop. alam ko kasi warranty lang meron. pag-nasira beyond that time ala na. kaya sobrang ingat ako sa gamit at storage... :-)

yung sinasabi mo na P4k most likely yung transit or yung jam lab usb yun. yung jam lab design pang-gitara... sorry, im not using that item so i can't say much. :-D
sa pag-record ng guitar technically lahat pwede. :lol: assuming na mic ang pangrerecord mo. usually the faster solution is to get usb items like the jam lab kasi plug and play saka they come with a tone processing-simulator software and drum loops.
kung gusto mo ng mas general function recording e malaking GAS attack yun. :-D

not always the case. even soundblasters are capable of 24-bit 96 khz operation. the most important difference of a 'professional' soundcard are in the A/D and D/A converters. often, the more inexpensive the soundcard, the less features or the less capability... you get what you pay for.

medyo OT pero hindi. Im in the process of acquiring gears for my home studio and sa ngayon ilang amps and drumset na lang then im good to go na. ang problem ko ngayon is yung lugar. Im renting a stuidio type apartment sa makati and hindi advisable na gawin ko syang recording studio kasi:
1. masyadong madaming bintana. Mahirap magsoundproof. 2. masikip yung lugar. Wala na kong tututugan if ever hehehehe 3. i dont think the owner will allow me.
Baka pwede naman ako magpatulong humanap ng place. kahit 1 bedroom apartment lang as long as may kwarto na pwedeng convert into a studio. May work ako dito sa shaw so sana yung malapit sa area. Maraming salamat mga sir.

I used soundblasters in the past and I can tell you that they work... to a certain extent. If you are serious about your music or your mixing, you will use cards other than soundblasters.
Depending on your cpu, you can use mid-level video cards or higher, but it's better to use relatively low powered cards. For comparison, I'm presently (typo) using a Radeon 2600 Pro (in hindsight, wrong choice, but it was fanless), my cpu is a quad Q6600... I can theoretically use a Radeon HD 3870 or 3850, but I will not stress my system with the newer 48xx cards. Hope this clears it up for you.

Yup, dual monitor system here. A godsend when you alternate between the track and mixer windows a lot. This is more evident during the mixing stage than during tracking, though.

I can name so many cards that it will make your head spin, but recommending one? That's another thing. You can still get by with a soundblaster if all you want is demo quality (and limited I/O options among other things). But if sound is critical to you, and you should be, there are far better options to soundblasters. You can only go so far, sonically and functionality-wise, with a consumer soundcard.
The main problem is local availability of audio interfaces that you read in magazines and catalogs. I suggest checking M-Audio cards at JB stores; Forerunner has their Native Instruments Audio Kontrol if you want other brands, and Audiophile has a selection of products from Lexicon and Tascam (their new web page is disappointing on info, though)... it all depends on your budget.

Or get one of those for sale here on the pro audio classifieds. There are several ones which should be more than decent I think, like the Presonus units. Someone's selling a Fast track ultra din. Depends on your needs and budget.

Nolit, I got a new HP computer na may HDMI and DV for dual monitor setup. I agree with you na nakakainis pag bukas sara yung mga plug in windows :-D.

great studio! you have a Line6 Guitar Pro Rack!!! is it really a nice gear? Im planning to buy one. by the way, is it here in 'pinas? :-D
The line6 PODxt Pro is a great piece of gear sir. There's a new one actually (Line6 POD X3 Pro). Wala pa kasi sa yupangco. I use the PODxt Pro sa recording, then Vetta 2 combo sa live. I distilled all my patches from the podxt to the vetta :-D

I see, thanks. Btw, the Vetta 2, that's probably the the closest thing to an amp version of the Pro Rack Amp. And yup, may newer version na nga yung Pro Rack according sa website nila. IMO, it looks like the ultimate all-in-one guitar recording gear.
Im also into Line 6 gears din kasi. I'll upgrade my amp to a Line 6 Spider III 75 this month. Sale kasi... They really have nice simulations of a wide array of Guitar Amp tones. Great for recording purpose talaga. :wink:
I was quite inspired by your setup. :-D Actually, im relatively on a beggining stage on the Home Project Recording. I get very interesting info by hanging around in this thread. :wink:

That's great sir. I'm glad you're into Line6 din. Para sakin, Ultimate recording gear yung new POD X3 Pro. You can use it for Guitars, Bass, and Vocals. Great and warm sounding naman ang Line6 IMO.
You're right when you said that Vetta 2 is the closest thing to an amp version of PODxt Pro. Kaibahan lang is sa vetta, you can run 2 different setup at once. Sa POD X3 Pro na nila nilagay yung 2 setup at once.

Thanks for the compliments sir. I think you're referring to the keyboard part in the backround. It's a patch from my Triton Extreme. Naka on ung arpeggiator and naka synch yung tempo sa song. Aside from that, may nagmu-mute guitar din dun, and a lead guitar na naka whammy (aside from the main melodic lead guitar part). :wink:

Sir Stilljey, what I usually do is while I'm mixing, parang nagmamaster na din ako. I'm lining up (or chaining all my fx) na agad sa master out. I'm using SONAR 7. I know some people want their files mastered by another experienced tech (and great mastering tools). But hey, IMHO ako ang mas nakakaalam ng gusto kong sound :-D.
After mixing (and mastering :-)) in SONAR 7, I'll then go to SONY CD ARCHITECT 5, open my files, put some final fx at the master out, then write the master cd. That's how I do my projects. Ok naman sa mga clients.

Here WAS my studio setup 3 yrs ago. It served me well and I've let go of a lot of items here already (also here on the forum) and , these were taken pre-philmusic days ko kaya my next update marami nang nagbago since I'm also currently doing a major renovation in the studio as you can see it's pretty basic in terms of the room.

Crappy pa kasi mga gamit ko hehehe. I make use what is available tapos nageexperiment ako sa mga connection. Napaandar ko yung apat na berry uca200 giving me 8 simultaneous inputs na nakalink sa aking chinese mixer.. hehehe.
By accident lang itong pagbuo ko ng studio, before kasi sa terrace lang kami sa bahay nagrerehearse at nagrerecord kaya yung mga unang records namin pati tilaok ng manok ng kapitbahay narerecord! hahahaha At syempre nagagalit din kapitbahay dahil sa ingay.
Isa pang rason eh sa pagaakala ko na kung meron na akong studio sisipag na yung ibang kasama ko sa pagpractice! ayun awa ng Diyos waepek! Mahirap talaga pag me mga rockstar kang kasama! hahahaha
Buti nalang at meron pa akong natisod na dedicated sa paggawa ng music! at least di nasayang yung mga pera kong nailabas sa mahiwagang medyas!

The purpose of my set-up is for musical collaboration with my bandmates. I record the basic stuff and then iisipan nila ng sarili nilang style... all routed to M-audio 1010 lt then to my sony 5.1 surround and to a sony dj headphones, bose noise cancelling head phones and a sony wireless headset
my drum is a really cheap 6k drum set i got here, i just changed the heads, emperor on top, ambassador on the bottom part (yun sabi sa kin dati sa guitar center and so far okay naman)
basically yun na, tapos i record using Adobe Audition and tons of plug-ins...
so mostly simple entry level gears lang naman gamit, pero masaya naman kami. hehehe. motto nga namin is "wala sa pana yan, nasa INDIAN!" hahahahaha!

ok lang :-D. nagsstream line ako ng mga gamit ngayon. in other words, yung mga talagang important at magagamit ng matagal ang itatabi ko sa kwarto ko. ang dami ko nang binenta pero may mga ibang items pa rin ako na isasama pa sa mga equipments ko. kasama pa dun ang mga upgrades. :-)

ok lang :-D. nagsstream line ako ng mga gamit ngayon. in other words, yung mga talagang important at magagamit ng matagal ang itatabi ko sa kwarto ko. ang dami ko nang binenta pero may mga ibang items pa rin ako na isasama pa sa mga equipments ko. kasama pa dun ang mga upgrades. :-)

from the demo na-pinakita sakin nung suki kong Perfect Pitch shop, i know that this model is a very nice e-drum set.
but i also have a problem on SpAcE. the thing is nag-upgrade ako, hindi ng recording item kundi ng "bed" sa personal size studio which is also inside my "room". having a queen size sucks up almost all floor space in my room. sa kama ko na ako nakaupo pag nasa harap ng pc or playing keys ... and you can just imagine it. :-D :-D :-D
i really can't include a drum set yet. di ko naman feel yung compact e-drum types. post mo na lang sa classified drums. you wouldn't know if there are people interested around. :wink:

i havent been here for a while, yung last post ko ay nung 2006 pa ata. well here's my bedroom studio, i make beats and record indie artists here and there, now im getting more in to mixing tracks.
ako kahit di nyo na tanungin... sabihin ko na lang... yung pinaka lumang yamaha ds2416 gamit ko.... wala pang budget para sa bagong interface...
Kung nakukuha mo naman ang gusto mo from your gear, then that's it. In the end, nasa talento at tenga pa rin ang magandang music. I started out borrowing a pc sa kapatid ko nung nagstart ako mag computer music. Step recording lahat sa cakewalk dahil ala ako keyboard for a controller. Onboard sound lang din gamit ko dati but still, nakuha ko naman ang gusto ko. Yung mga unang raket ko sa arranging yun lang gamit ko talaga.
Maganda nga tong thread na to e. Nakaka inspire talaga. Post pa kayo!!! :wink:

DAW and Computer: Mac Book Pro Apogee Ensemble
Compressors: FMR RNC and RNLA
That's it!! i do not have any keyboards, drums or effects (a few pedals only) but I do have a lot of guitars including 2 guitar synths - Brian Moore and Godin, a lot of mics and old vintage fender amps. I'm more of a guitar guy than anything else. Thanks for viewing.

P.S. mukhang special talaga yung Ramirez. frontline na, may bukod pa na stand :lol:

yup those are made by Auralex. Avalon 737s are a lot cheaper nowadays as there are a lot better preamps than these ones out there. EBay offers 737s around 50% off the actual price. I think a lot of people are looking for preamps that give you a lot of coloration and a sound that's in your face. The 737s have a very clean sound and don't give a lot of coloration despite them being tube preamps. I like them for classical guitar music. For a thicker sound and for that in your face sound, I use the Vipre by Groove Tubes.
I will post some sound clips recorded using the Avalons tube pre and the UA 110 solid state pre in the next few days. Thanks.

yes maganda kasing gamitin ang Sonar sa MIDI, yung PT 8 ok na rin talaga sya sa midi.

malaki ang chance na masira ang soundcard. try to get a microphone and connect it to your soundcard's mic-in and record your amp by that method.

'lalo na kung yung souncard ay built in sa motherboard, pati yun pwede ring masira, :-P

may mga mic na pwedeng gamitin straight sa PC. example nya eh mga desktop mics na nabibili sa computer shops. gagana yun pero yung quailty ng recorded audio e hwag mo ng i-expect na ganung kaganda.
pwede ka gumamit ng mas magandang mic basta magawan mo ng paraan na ma-plug sa line-in or mic-in ng PC/soundcard.

hehehe pero may panahong kulang pa rin yan. yung nuendo at reason kasi may sinusundang resolution. malaki lang pero di ko pa rin ma-maximize ung screen size. mas gusto ko pa rin dual monitors kaso bagong gastos na namn un.

ive seen studio images on the net with NS10 on their monitoring system... dami klase and style ng placement and positioning... meron dun yung vertical model, na nakahiga... may horizontal model, nakavertical naman... likewise the distances bet the left and right vary.

kanya-kanyang choice ang panning ng drums... but you may prefer not to pan it too hard. pan the toms, ride and crash. isipin mo na lang, lahat ng makikinig ng mix mo ay drummer. which means, they are not the listener. ganun din sa mixing... imagine you are the drummer when mixing the drums..

Napilitan akong gumawa ng quick setup 2 weeks ago para picturan at ipakita sa dati kong kabanda para pakita na may gamit pa ako. :-D Oh well, pardon the quality from my camera fone pic. :lol:
Electric guitar and bass now run directly to Hi-Z input of interface and runs with Amplitube 3. Removing my room from the need of amps. Korg Nanopad on the right for drum trigger. Mixer on the left for pre-amp and line-in before interface. SM57 for acoustic instrument and vox. A vintage Korg M1 synth on far left. Not on pic are other pre-amps, outboard effects, other guitars, percs and my favorite PX330 88-key. Incoming is a new bigger computer table fit for my setup and for further expansion. :-D

Some of the studios shown here on this thread are really nice. And impressive.
Hindi kami nag-rerecord sa aming "studio," which is just for rehearsals for our amateur band. Dating garage. May mga kaibigan ako sa acoustic-treatment business, so tinulungan nila ako sa treatment nung cuarto.
Hindi photo ng buong studio, kundi "tight" shot, pinapakita lang ang acoustic treatment panel na nakakabit sa pader.

Meron nang Scarlett sa JB? Magkano daw? Hindi ako sa JB bumili nito eh... Ok siya, very user friendly yung Cubase na kasama niya.. Sundan mo lang yung demo nila sa youtube, ganun lang din talaga mga gagawin mo.. :)
Unang recording interface ko rin ito so hindi ko macompare sa iba. Pero maganda ang nakukuha kong tunog. Sabi ng karamihan maganda talaga preamps ng Focusrite. Kaso yun nga, hindi ko pa natry yung ibang A/I so wala akong experience sa difference nila. Basta natutuwa ako sa tunog na narerecord ko gamit itong Scarlett.. Pang vocals at acoustic guitar ko ginagamit yung condenser na CM25.. tapos pag amp, naka Shure SM57 ako. :)

Rei, I see na na sa headphone out galing yung signal papuntang S-Amp. Para saan mo ginagamit itong S-Amp?
Sir Rey, para maraming pwedeng sabay-sabay na nakaheadphones na nakikinig silently.
Parang mas madali kasi mag record na naka direct monitor lang muna sa headphones tapos dun namin muna pinapakinggan yung mga narerecord habang may pre recorded track na kasabay.. Nasa isang kwarto lang kasi yung mga mic at monitors, mahirap mag record ng vocals pag kunwaring hindi rinig yung pre-recorded na instrumental. :-)

time to sell the krks. hindi ko talaga makasundo, hindi kasi marinig ng tama ang mids nya. everything sounds muddy compared to the ns10. ayos pa rin naman yung krk for checking bass pero i will replace it with something better...

it took a long time for me to admit pero wala talagang midrange detail ang mga krk rokit at boomy ang bass. parang may V shaped eq sya internally.
im realigning all my 2014 gear budget, im going for broke or nothing this coming march/april - dynaudio bm6a o kaya siguro kahit 2nd hand genelec
nagresearch na rin ako kung gagawa na lang ako ng 3-way monitors using beyma drivers kaso aabutin din ng 2500usd lahat kasi bibili pa ko ng 3-way digital processor at 3 amps - isa dun sa mga amp probably nasa $1k to drive the mids

gusto ko rin sana matry yung avantone mixcubes baka sakaling yun yung magandang seconds monitors para sa mga naka rokit.
my new vintage gear: sony str v4/yamaha ns10 combo is a good complement sa lahat ng pagkukulang ng rp8. i still the use rp8 more than the ns10 because i only need the ns10 to tweak the crucial mids and to check the vertical placement of instruments on the sound stage. i can do all the rest on the rp8 tsaka hindi nakakapagod pakingan for long mixing sessions.
not yet, ganda ng reviews pero ganda rin ng reviews ng rokits nung lumabas - kaya medyo wala na ko tiwala sa sabi ng iba hahaha. my future monitor will have to be tested first inside my room - so i need to beg or borrow from someone who has

I'm currently reading lang about different kinds of setup and ito yung hindi ko pa masyado naiintindihan. Pamilyar lang kasi ako kapag audio interfaces/computers and stand-alone multitracks.
alesis adat and tascam da88 ba nasa isip mo? if yes then avoid those modular multitracks. just get a 24 channel hard disk recorder instead.
then yung mixer na kailangan mo dapat may A/B inputs: A is for mics and then if you switch to B is for the multitrack returns. of course pwede rin naman yung regular mixers pero hassle lang kasi kailangan mo mag rewire everytime mag rerecord ka o mag mimix. huhugutin mo yung mics for mixing kasi kailangan mo gamitin yung inputs to plugin the outputs of the multitrack. or buy a 48 channel mixer so use channels 1 to 24 for mic inputs and their direct outs to the multitrack inputs. then use channels 25 to 48 for the multitrack returns
kung medyo naguguluhan ka sa description, hanap ka ng old manuals ng mackie 1604 meron dun 8 track setup na gamit yung 1 to 8 for mics and 9 to 16 for multitrack returns. maiintindihan mo na siguro sa diagram nila kung pano yung setup during tracking and mixing
