to the jp6 users...which pickups to you prefer...the original or the new liquifire and crunchlab pickups...i prefer the original pickups...the ones he used in the scenes from a memory tour...the ones on the first jp6 releases...the new pickups are too heavy sounding for me... :?

Di ko pa naririnig yung bagong pickups so I can't compare. Sorry. I think the first JP's had dimarzio Steve Specials and Air Norton then D-Sonic and Air Norton and now the Crunchlab and Liquifire....  tama ba? Ano gusto mo, yung Steve special na tunog?

i prefer the tone fomr the scenes from a memory tour. on his prototype ones.
i think the pickups are the same as that of his ibanez JP models.

lo pro edge ang gamit ni john sa mga ibanez nya dati...for his ebmm jp6 he they designed a modern floating trem na based sa vintage trems and wilkinson trem...i think the prototype of his ebmm guitar bago sya lumipat sa musicman can be found sa ibanez desert camo jpm...naka wilkinson trem na yun na may piezo...yung unang version nung ebmm guitar nya wala pa yung arm rest sa trem...i like the new trem...madali magpalit ng string and maasahan mo na di nawawala sa tono...i don't do that much steve vai whammy tricks kaya it's the trem for me... :-)

laking pinag bago ng  musicman guitars..yung na try ko lng gamitin kasi sir yung old type na parang kahawig ng steve lukather silhouette model pero naka floydrose...yung mga lumang klaseng floyd...

Using my Music Man (yeah I know hindi siya Ernie Ball but what the heck):


Make sure to turn down the volume at the video. Camera used for this is not very good for capturing distortion - it usually clips.

I do hope to get my hands on a Sterling Ball JP50 in the near future!
