I don't claim to know it all about LPs since I also just got mine recenty a few months back but in defense of the LP custom, I think it really sounds awesome. Well, of course it's nice to look at and all but the sound is just wicked (to my ears at least). It is even my girlfriend's favorite among my guitars. A few of my more experienced and tone freak friends found mine to sound and feel nice. Nakita na rin ni sir Micsis to and it also even came from him that had he seen this posted before, sya na kumuha. I brought it to him when I was trying out the pedal I was buying from him. I dream to get a Gibson but the price is too expensive for me. Mine looks and sounds just perfect. Money well-spent. Now I don't know if it was by chance that I got a really nice sounding LP custom since I haven't tried others... though dubista's alpine white is something I'm drooling over... hehehe

I have yet to try out a Gibson but for now, I love my LP kahit Epi pa 'to.

I meant yung back.. is it black or can you see the wood? I saw an ebony before with a natural back ... ganda ng effect.. it looked unique

a plus top indicates the use of AAA+ grade figured maple with heavy quilting/curling/flaming/striping for the 2pc maple top of the body

a plaintop is the opposite, with little or no visible wood figure

hindi ko alam history nyan eh, basta ang alam ko eh ako ang nag-palit ng hardware nyan, hehe. nasakin pa nga yung orig na tuners, bridge at stoptail nyan eh, hehehe.
