I also do the slide/heel-toe technique when doing doubles on a single kick pedal.  It's not perfect, but it works for me most of the time.  Practice practice & more practice lang talaga...  8)

Hey there.  I was wondering if you do heel-toe strokes when doing those blast beats.  And if ever, what pedals do you use?  Do you recommend Axis Longboards?

let's not forget, he mentioned last EB na gibraltar beaters ang gamit niya. kasi gusto raw niya medyo mabigat.

I believe the Axis may have a different feel to the chain and belt driven peds.  But it will do.  It's pretty fast.  The feel that may throw you off at first is that it has great playability.

questions:

#1. Are you leaving the beater on or off the drum skin?
#2. What technique are you using? sliding/heelup or down/etc?
#3. Which of these technique is versatile meaning madaling i handle, accurate if you need to those triplet, 32nd note going, easy to incorporate dynamics with? salamat po!

it would be better din to show a video, pwede post sa you tube. so that all of us will see the motion of the foot! tnx Godbless

I've seen Thomas Lang's Creative Control and he explains his foot technique quite well.

If your after the dynamics on your feet. Try playing or switching between Heel up and Heel down. A good Exercise is playing 16th notes singles with one feet playing heel down and one playing heel up. Then switch every 2 bars or something. It will give you a good sense of dynamics and coordination. :)

But if your after speed.. Like Death Metal speed. I suggest practicing with your ankles. It goes like this, Raise your leg. The whole leg floating. Then just "tap" the pedal. using your ankles. Thats the technique most death metal drummers use. George Kollias, Flo Mounier included. Takes a while to get used to but once you get it. You'll be doing 16th Notes Singles at 240BPM while watching TV and not having a bit of Smirk or "asim look" on your face.
