They're to blame!...
« on: January 19, 2008, 02:28:18 AM »
...MYMP!

I know covers and remakes have long been born in the local music scene..side A and other bands..they make great covers and promote em as a carrier single. well at least, 10% or less of the time. They launched onto the scene with original songs like hold on...etc.

MYMP, is the most popular, biggest selling duo/band to promote other artists songs...mostly from foreign acts.

a lot have followed their footsteps..Bamboo, Spongecola, Martin Nievera, Christian Bautista....

whatever happened to Pinoy creativity? and friggin' hard work??

the only reason "it sells" is coz its the only thing rammed down people's throats so much that people have no choice but to like 'em... not just covers but backwards pop music in general.

if all the labels took risks and tried to elevate the minds of the masses, we could end up like japan or someday, the US, where diversity and open-mindedness cultivated markets for all kinds of art and music.

but no, the labels can't risk that. its still a business and they have families to feed. reality check for the idealistic.

bang napupusuan?
Pare2: Meron.. Manhid ka lang!

heegad.multiply.com

i like MYMP... "come on and get me get me get me, baby im yours cmon and get meeee!"

*lol* but seriously ... if i was given front row tickets to their show, i would watch and then talk to juris and chin afterwards.

-*-

if you really hate pop that much you wouldnt watch TV, read pulp or listen to the radio... those who do that, and then complain how much they hate pop are either hypocrites or just ppl who need to get out the house and play gigs.

Ika nga ni Ely

"Well I knew I couldn't take all that dog food that they make I'd just as sooner put myself on a stake and burn...I saw it coming around...I saw it coming around yehehehehe..."

If we don't like it, then don't buy it. As my friend in the recording industry confided in me "wala kang kikitain ni singkong duling sa CD's". It goes for them, as it goes for us.

So I guess the solution for our happiness is just to ignore what we don't like and do what we do like. If it means going Indie Underground for the rest of our musical careers...then SO BE IT :D

Peace :D

Di rin siguro natin sila masisisi. :-)

Talaga namang magaganda ang mga lumang kanta. :-)

people need to make money, less risk yan para sa band at label. narinig nyo na ba yung boys do fall in love ng parokya? hehe

maganda naman yung ibang revival e, kung di ko trip, i just change the station. :-)

haha if you really want to change the economic landscape of the local music industry, buy 1,000,000 copies of every local album that you like and create a demand for the artists that you think should be tha shizz. maybe that'll make them record labels keep up with your vision
