@diadem..

5k bro i think is too little..more like he will be spending enough to buy a new kit if he wants those things in new condition.. :?

better salvage it and clean what you can..sayang lang kasi its either that or just purchase new pieces that will set you back BIGTIME!!!

Grabe malalim na nga!  Parang nag-survive sa bagyo...  Pero masarap i-restore ito.

If I were the owner of that kit, I'll have the metal parts powder-coated.  It would look more distinct and customized.  And just like what guys are saying here in this forum, powder coating services aren't too expensive.

But I'll be replacing the tension rods and some of the hardware - the pedals, in particular.

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions!!!

Pumunta ako sa Perfect Pitch and yun medyo mura lang na part e yung mga tension rods. Mahal na yun ibang parts, the exact same hi-hat stand costs more than 3K kaya medyo napaisip ako. Gusto ko nga sana palitan. About 25K daw pala tong drumset na to. Yikes! Looks like ako na nga lang maglilinis or iattempt ko muna.

Punta na lang ako sa Ace Hardware and bumili ng mga pinong liha, pamunas, yun pantangal ng rust na kinakabit sa drill, etc. Anyway, i'll know this weekend kung malilinis ko o hinde.

I'll try to post before and after pics.

« Reply #65 on: November 05, 2006, 03:12:05 PM »
Meron bang way para mapatagal yung ball ng mga tom mount? me mga nasubukan kasi ako sa mga rehearsal studio na hindi na kumakapit yung ball kahit sobrang sikip na yung screw. cause ba to ng "wear and tear" o sira lang siguro yung nagamit?
salamat sirs

wear and tear yan.

« Reply #69 on: November 12, 2006, 11:20:34 PM »
question lang. plano kasi namin lagay yung gamit namin sa room na narent namin sa isang industrial area sa paranaque. sa pasig pa ko so iiwan lang namin yung gamit dun. baka twice a week lang namin mabisita so walang magmemaintain.  ano ba kailangan  gawin para hindi masira yung gamit? naisip ko lang kasi takpan lang ng kumot para hindi masyado magaccumulate ng dust. wala na kasi ako maisip na iba. just want to make sure. kailangan ba i-disassemble pa o puede iwan na nakakabit? ok lang ba iwan cymbals? ok lang naman iuwi pero syempre mabigat din yun...mahirap bitbitin  8-)  what should i watch out for sa room na ire-rent? ano mga kailangan ilagay para hindi masira yung gamit? need your help. nakakahinayang kasi kung masisira lang yung gamit. thanks

No prob, bro!

As long as your drum equipment are not set up in a room with high levels of temperature and humidity, your gear will be just fine.  Make sure that it's not exposed to direct sunlight.  Covering the equipment with cloth is good, so that it wouldn't gather any dirt and dust.

As for the cymbals, I suggest that you store them on a cymbal bag/case when not in use.

try gettin some drum, cymbal, hardware bags...blankets will only protect it from dust, pero yung corrossion or oxidation ata as they call it (stage before rust, yung di na shiny)will still set in...i have experienced this kasi i used to always leave my kit with blanket cover naka-display sa room ko, whenever i leave town, tapos when i get back after a few months wala ngang dust pero yung hardware hoops, lugs, stands medyo naging malabo yung finish so kailangan pa-linis again, engineers have told me that this happens to metal whenever its exposed to varying degrees of temperatures specially in conditions where patay sindi ang aircon kasi sa moist sa humid atmosphere natin. so what i do so that i wont have to clean it each time i get back is i place the hardwares in old luggages/maletas, tapos yung drums inside different sizes of boxes, tapos yung cymbals inside cymbal bags shempre. yung cymbal bags shempre have to be padded, tapos i pad drums and hardwares with newspapers (good insulator for moisture!) within the boxes and maletas.

i dont know if this sounds convenient for you pero it works for me kasi i leave my kit just lyin around on months on end whenever im out of town. sayang oras ko and money if pag uwi ko kailangan ko pa linisin yung kit. plus i like the feeling of opening boxes to reveal the toy i have been longin for while away.
