If you wanna learn, I think TESDA has a short term course on basic electronics. Basic skills lang naman ang kelangan, how to read resistor and capacitor values how to ID components (what does a diode look like etc), soldering and desoldering skills. Kung gusto mo naman self-study, bili ka ng Electronics Enthusiasts Projects and Circuits Volume I sa Alexan (5th floor Megamall or beside Deeco in Raon or Cyberzone @ SM North Edsa). Most of the info to build electronics projects are there. Of course, you'll have to bolster book reading with practice. Ako kasi gaya-gaya ako sa Kuya ko and he was there all along to teach me. I started assembling electronics stuff when I was 11 years old

Yup lahat ng parts are locally available for the Daga. Even the case (cast aluminum metal case @ alexan) and footswitch (kita ko si Bunyok meron, bibili ako sa kanya hehehe). All in, mga less than 1 thou lahat ng gastos I can foresee the most expensive parts are the IC (70 pesos) case (mga 200) and footswitch (baka nasa 400).

sir you can shield it temporarily using an empty foil pouch (yung lalagyan ng potato chips) while testing. no kidding.

I forgot to install a small capacitor pala on the non-inverting input of the op-amp. Kinabit ko na. Okay na sya ! Yung natitirang hiss, sa amp na nanggagaling ! Baaahhh...kahit mumurahing parts lang gamit okay na din sya ah !

Tapusin ko muna i-case and all. Actually, pinangarap na namin kung pano i mass produce to. Nasa prototyping stage pa lang kami, dinig kung magaganda ang tunog ng mga sari-saring sirkito.

. So far, okay tong Daga. Next ay yung tubong tumitili.

Actually, meron din syang kasabay, parang mas gusto kong unahin kapag natapos ko na i-case tong Daga :

Yung mga nagkaroon ng Rat, question.

Mataba ba talaga tunog nito? Ang ganda e. Pag ginalaw mo pala yung gain saka yung filter, meron syang tunog na "brown sound". Ganda. Pero di ko alam kung "authentic" yung tunog.

yung filter affects your midrange. at least that's how it sound to me. yep, kaya nya manipis to fat tone.

dapat sensitive to picking din, cleans well when you roll off the guitars volume

very very versatile pedal. ngayon nanghihinayang ako kung baket binitawan ko yung Rat2

Natapos ko na MXR Distortion + clone ko.

Hindi sya kasing aggressive ng DS-1, medyo bilog at "warm" ang tunog nya. Dinig na dinig ang pick attack. Execute ko naman exacto, except ang ginamit kong clipping diodes eh LED na ilaw.

Bandang "Classic Rock" ang tunog nito.

Yup mura lang. Half the price of whatever pedal it's emulating

. Me budget version pa, plastic case which is even cheaper (for students and guys who don't wanna spend much on pedals). Me boutique version din, low noise caps and resistors in the audio signal path. Yun, kasing-mahal ng commercial pedal pero boutique quality na sya.

Nagpasilkscreen na ko ng boards. I'll be done with the prototyping stage in a week or two. Punta kayo ni guitaraddict dito (he's already heard the Boo-Rat) para marinig mo pati na din yung distortion plus. I'll be finished with the JCM800 emulator tonight. Pero with the boards done, baka lahat ng prototypes matapos ko tonight...mas madali kapag me PCB's na
