« on: October 19, 2007, 05:42:13 PM »
guys, bigay naman kayo tips kung pano maglinis ng parts ng pc...ano ang pinakamura o effective na products para mapanatiling malinis ang pc iniside and out...

ako may itatanong, ok lang ba gumamit ako ng can of compressed air para linisin at tanggalin ang mga dust particles sa loob ng pc?

Yes, eraser, but only for the gold metal contacts. Ako, I prefer to use acetone to clean the contacts because it removes finger/skin oils. I also use acetone to clean off the Arctic Silver thermal paste from the cpu whenever I have to reseat the heat sink, along with a healthy supply of tissue. Don't use rags because AS is very hard to clean out and AS can be conductive.

Use long haired artist's brushes to clean off dust buildup. You can also use a can of compressed air. DO NOT use any vacuum, especially whose armature is exposed to the airstream. Dust is a very good conductor of static electricity and a spark from the armature can travel from the vacuum to the motherboard.

They usually recommend 99.9% isoprophyll alcohol. Di pwede ang Green Cross and other similar brands because it is 70% isoprophyll. What's the other 30%? Water.

So far, walang nabibiling 99% isoprophyll sa mercury, puro 95% lang. That still has 5% water. Kaya acetone gamit ko. One advantage of using acetone, you can spot a fake, remarked cpu kaagad... natutunaw at nabubura ang mga markings!

Mangangalawang in the sense that it can cause the copper traces to oxidize. Some chipsets also have a slight airgap underneath them that water can seep under since when the alcohol evaporates, water is usually left behind. Since may compressed air ka, always use it to drive out the alcohol from underneath components. A hair dryer also helps.

.
