Feedback from cables?  Maybe it's your pickups that need potting...

Used self-assembled cables since I was a teen. The only time I had a problem was when I used TV coax cable lying around in the house. But then again, it was tolerable, if not usable :D .

Try to keep your cables short...within 20 feet or less. Long cables suck tone.

RJ strato copy -> Jekyll & Hyde -> MXR Micro Amp -> amp

sana matulungan nyo co.

bro, natural na sa strats ang may hum. lalo na pag binoost mo yan or overdrive or distortion, lalong lalakas hum nyan. kaya ako, since puro strat ako, i opted to use multieffects because may built in noise suppressor na. i tried the stomps setup bro, didn't work for me, maingay eh. usually wala sa cables yan. mostly sa guitar.

As in, Atoy Co?  :D

Maybe masama and solder joints sa guitar plugs.  Baka ang amp mo kailangan ng ground.  Or baka may ground loops sa gitara mo.

yup, yan. i'm not sure about the white version, yung black ang gamit ko e. sobrang ingay ng pickups ng Strat ko kasi handwound '54 CS lahat pero tanggal lahat ng noise sa Smart Gate! recommend ko yun for you :)

sa umpisa, kasi hindi madidiscriminate ng Smart Gate yung signal as efficiently kung ididistort mo na agad then imomodulate pa bago ifilter. chances are, hindi mafifilter yung hum/noise na gusto mo matanggal or baka sumobra yung mafilter na signal. it's better to let the noise gate work on the clean sound instead.

have u tried na ba bro na gumamit ka ng ibang cables? if u had tried pero andun pa din yung ingay then the guitar is the problem mostly the PICK UP. my suggestion is try mo lahat ang lakas ng pick up mo from neck to bridge. First plug in ka sa amp medyo lakasan mo, todo mo ang volume ng gitara, wag ka muna mag effects, just a clean tone, pinch a note then mute then observe mo ang tunog for example asa neck pickup ka, single coil kunwari if may naririnig kang konting ingay (grounded ng konti) kahit di mo na ginagalaw yun ang INGAY O LAKAS NG PICK UP MO natural lang yun bro, dapat di ka masyado ma gain you must mingle with your effects or experiment para pag nag fx ka di ka uunahan ng ingay o feedback. kung saan wala o pinaka minimize ang ingay o lakas ng pick up mo yun ang gamitin mo sa distortion passage. o kaya naman ang output jack yung kabitan ng cable ang may problema minsan kasi lumuluwang o may natatangal sa loob dahil sa pagpapasok mo ng bigla ng cable. hope that it helps bro.. ano ba ang mas maganda (meaning hindi maaapektuhan yung attack ng tone, just eliminates the damn buzz), MXR Smart Gate o Boss Noise Supressor?

@katzenjammer: bale napurbahan co 'to nang tumugtog kami sa kolumn kagabi. yung bassist namin ginamit nya house jack yata or other band's. alang problema. pero kami ng vocalist saksak kami ng cables namin, *bzzzzzggkk* aray! jahe kasi other bands are so smooth whilst soundchecking eh kami, hindi talaga ma-eliminate to the point na masakit man sa loob co, hininaan co na ang Dist ped co, ala talaga ayaw maalis so sige tugtog na. hindi co rin naenjoy yung pedal co kasi pigil ang paggamit co last nite. :(

figured out the hassle: guitar cable nga.

this is what i got:
1. deeco assembled cable
2. long-time "patakbuhin" cable
3. tele of my bro
4. strato co

first i tested the deeco cables (on both guitars), *bbzzzzgkk* grounded. and mas malakas yung sa ken (since i heard strats have this all along depending on what pickup you use)

then, i tested the other cable (patakbuhin na nabili co sa bayan long time ago), tried it first on the tele, NO HUM OR BUZZ at all.

tried it on my strat, MINIMAL HUM nalang! (suggestion on how to eliminate that dang buzzing please)

i thought it was our pickups (RJ guitars kami), pero parang hassle naman kung ganun lagi ang gawa ng RJ diba? ang to think November lang na-acquire ang guitars, so hindi agad maluluma ang parts nito.

so my only (and last) worry here is how to eliminate the final hum on my strat. some suggested RJ Alnico pickups, some Smart Gate / Noise Supressor.

and what's with the Neutrik jacks? are these good jacks? anong kable gagamitin co with it? maraming maraming salamat po!
