better from a technical point of view, better specs, better design, better to hang on your cab  :-D

but better sound? no, just different.

yan masama when you have choices, you will always want to compare. me too. that's why i have both and a few others. kung magcocompare lang syempre may kanya kanya rin tayo bias at yun nga, i favor sm57 for the warmth.

kaso pagdating na sa recorded output, di mo rin naman masasabi kung anong mic yung ginamit sa amp. if it sounds good, its good and its usually good because of: good player+good guitar+good amp regardless of mic or preamp used

Thanks for the input. Good point. Both are good mics but that would always depend on user preference.

If you mean by wet is with distortion, effects and modulation then my answer is dati, oo. Ngayon, with all the free amp sims, impulse cabs and vst plugins laying around, not anymore.

^oke!

you'd be surprised. daming pro studios ngayon, VST nalang din ang gamit for guitar prod. mas madali kasi icontrol kesa mag mic pa ng amps.

recording dry is de weh.

pag nagrerecord ka ng acoustic, do you still mic it kahit may pickup na?

I just mic it. Wala ako pickup for acoustic and I haven't tried it yet. Though in my experience in tracking acoustic guitar, mas maganda yung gitara mas madali ihanap ng lugar sa mix.

I have two inputs. 1 condenser mic and the piezo/pickup input. then I blend.
the mic will ofcourse capture the character and all the nuances, while the piezo will give me a somewhat dry signal that will help me provide highs without noise. dagdag brilliance kumbaga.
jan ko nahihit yung sweet spot.

I'd like to believe I output decent acoustic tracks, or so the plays of my tracks say hahahaha

I tried the same setup once. Naka kabit yung piezo sa interface pero naka co3 parin to get the air/crisp ng acoustic + the sound pag pagpapalik ng chords.
Pag straight from the piezo/pick ups kasi parang puro tunong ng strum maririnig though I never had a chance to record those high end acoustic. Yamaha and sigma pa lsng napaparaan dito sa bahay.

Sex is like pizza: there's no such thing as bad pizza. Sure there is cold pizza, pizza that makes you sick, unenthusianstic meaningless pizza, and pizza that you won't get a second time. But nothing will ever make you stop wanting pizza.

^uy salamat. Actually marunong naman akong magprogram etc. More like "programming drums for non drummer" tutorial ang hinahanap ko. Well I guess more practice is the key. :)
