huh? Portnoy/Bozzio? I dont think Terry Bozzio is on the right category on your poll because he has a lot of toms/drums as well..but Portnoy is on the right side for his massive cymbal set-up  :?

none of the above for me..ang gusto ko basic both drums and cymbals

parang kulang sa detalye yung post nya at yung poll eh....  kung ako tatanunging siyempre kapag madaing toms dapat madami din cymbals. pero yung tama lang ayaw ko nung sobrang dami..

i like both. marami at konti dapat kaya mong laruin yan.
kaso dito sa pinas mas practical ang maliit na set-up and simply play
it big hehe.

Likewise.  I think it should go "more is more" or "less is more".

The way I see it, I let the music dictate which drum equipment I should use.  If the music requires me to use plenty of sound sources, I'll go for a bigger kit with all the things I need.  If not, then I'll stick to a basic set-up.  Simply use what's needed for the music.

i think what he means is "more drums/cymbals=less good for a drummer" or "less drums/cymbals=more good for a drummer"

..taking into perspective siguro what the old drummer legends say "less is more" in drumming

less is more para sa akin kasi mas natural yung lumalabas na patterns/fills. pag maraming drums for me parang kailangan ko pa mag-isip nakaka-taranta.

mas comfortable ako sa 5-piece set-up (snare, bass, 2 rack and one floor). with 1 ride, hats and 2 crashes left and right. ok rin pag may 8" or 10" splash above or near the hi-hats. medyo hindi natural sa akin yung masyadong maraming effects cymbals. actually hindi ako sanay gumamit ng china. medyo alangan ako kung saang part ko siya ipapasok eh.

korek! aprub! apir!  :-)

depende sa genre, style at skill level ng drummer. pero pagnaninigurado o nag play safe ang drummer, eh di sa pocket na lang siya at magposte.  :-)

in my opinion, i'd go larger setups if it is required musically, pero pag hindi naman, syempre dun na tayo kung ano na lang ang kinakailangan.  :-)

Less is more... hmmm... Frank Lloyd Wright nga ahahahaha! anyways... for me it depends upon my mood... sometimes I use my big kit setup so "more is more" or maybe venturi's "less is bore" ehehehe, but when I get tired of playing around with the big kit sometimes I take time to remove more than 50% of my kit and play with a 4 piece kit with 1 crash, ride, hihat, splash but still have the double pedal on it! ehehehe...

Still, it all boils down to the drummer...

More nga, u suck nman, concentrated so much with the kit and not sa skills, the kit wont mork as good.

Pero a good drummer can turn a basic kit into a large and better sounding one.
