This is actually my ideal situation. When I already have a nice drumkit, I would love to bring it along with me on our gigs. By doing this, I have the advantage of using my personal instrument, so that means I'm very familiar with my equipment and I'm gonna be using my personal sound. If not the whole kit, I would bring most of my drumkit's components (such as toms, some hardware, etc.)
In my opinion, if we drummers are very particular with equipment, I think it's just wiser to bring our personal kit. There are some who complain so much to venue techs and crews about the house kit's condition. To stop the complaining and in order to satisfy one's self, why not just bring our own instruments? So that if ever something goes wrong, we have no one else to blame but ourselves. It will be a little extra work, but I think it's worth it.
Koko Bermejo frequently brings his own kit. Gerd of Freestyle and Paul of South Border also do this occasionally, especially when they know that the venue has a poor house kit.
I would only bring my personal kit if the venue has an unfavorable house kit, and if we'll be the only group performing on that gig (so that setup changes wouldn't become more difficult and time-consuming). Pero kung kakilala and kaibigan naman yung kasama sa gig, no problem.
