Isa pa is you try the pedal first then decide if its the right one for you. Hope that helped...

kung yan ang bibilhin mo, super sulit na rin yan. kasi mga avengers cost around 3-5k pa. pero, if you have more money, siguro more better kung bibilin mo yung mga high-end pedals like pearl and tama. hehe, IMO lang.  :)

yup Sir Jun, ganyan na ganyan.

Super bago pa ung quality.

Medyo tight ung budget ko e.  Kasi one time I went to Raon to look for an affordable pedal.

Ung mga Sonor na single peds is aroung 2,600 php.  Ung mga generic na pedals naman is from 700 to 1K.

Tama (Iron Cobra) naman is around 7K.

And this Gibraltar peds un nga nasa 1.8K lng.  And this will fit my budget.

Kaya lng di pala Avenger, Prowler pala sya.

Single chain cam lng di double chain.

Pero natawaran ko ng 1,300 php.  Pwede na rin ba iyon?

Sobrang kinis parang di nagamit. Ung mallet nya maputi pa rin. In tact lahat ng mga knobs and screws.  Pati ung ilalim walang ganong gasgas.

Good deal na ba ito?  Nabili ko na e.

Thanks

Title: new hihat toy - gibraltar hot hat
Post by: peeves24 on December 28, 2006, 01:13:06 PM
id love to get me one of these:

"Gibraltar’s Hi Hat Off Time attachment adds an additional layer of rhythm to your sound. When attached to an existing hi hat stand along with a second set of hi hats, a ‘chick’ sound is created on the off beat, keeping time with your hi hat foot. The HHOT fills out your sound for all styles and grooves.

Each HHOT features an instructional DVD produced by HHOT inventor Stephen Marnell. The DVD includes set up and playing instructions and groove examples for all styles of music.

SC-HHOT Hi Hat Off Time Attachment Retail: $92.50 "

That's a nifty invention.  And we can play the Off Time Hi-Hats with both left foot and our sticks.

I hope it can fit on virtually ALL brands and styles of hi-hat stands.  And another possible limitation is, how can this be fitted on a drum set-up with stuff mounted on the left side of the hi-hat (ex. - second snare drum, left-side tom, timbale, etc.)?  Better move the left-side percs, if ever.

It would also be cool if there's an on/off control or level or knob, so that we can choose when and when not to use the Off Time Hats.

Hehe sorry... My designer mentality is up and running again.  :-D

Ok yan ah!

Makes sense diba!? :-D

Doupeds yan diba? Hm, pwede na. Brand new is around 8k before discounts. If it's in good condition, then it's a good buy. I have the single Prowler pedal myself, and it's really not that bad. Solid footboard, metal base plate, and dual-sided beater. The only problem I have with it is the lack of adjustment possibilities.

I agree. If your gonna splurge out that money on Doupeds that isn't Lazer or Generic, at least get one that isn't single-chain. Maybe you can wait around for a second hand Avenger, or save up.

Title: Re: help.
Post by: sjon014 on June 21, 2007, 03:18:05 PM
Double-chain = Added stability, more responsive, solid feel. Plus the footboard might not wobble as much.

The pedal I own is a single, and it's got.. what.. a lighter feel?  :-D
Title: Re: help.
Post by: peeves24 on June 21, 2007, 03:21:01 PM
but double chains will wobble like a single chain too. the hinge is the problem not the chain

single chain lang din lahat ng naging pedals ko, nakagamit na ko ng ilang double chain and i dont feel any difference kaya na curious lang ako
Title: Re: help.
Post by: sjon014 on June 21, 2007, 03:27:15 PM
Whoo! 1,600th post si sir peeves! Hehe. Even single-chain Pearls and Gibraltars have high-quality hinges and springs. But I used this single-chain Fernando on a bar gig, and the footboard wobbled from side to side. Really bad since my toe tends to wander around the footboard. Generic double-chains feel better (still not by much though).

In conclusion, I'd like to say that... most branded single-chain peds are solid enough anyway. :-D

Title: Re: Question regarding Gibraltar hardware...
Post by: jeva on June 24, 2007, 12:46:39 PM

In my own analogy,
1. Pag single chain pwede ma misalign ang chain pg sobrang bilis ng footwork, tama ba?
2. Consider na tama ung 1, then pag double pedal at masyadong mabilis
2.1 Ung isang chain pwede lang ma disengage to one direction, kasi sa kabilang side nya may isa pang chain
2.2 Because double chain sya, ma dislodge man isang chanin nakakabit pa ung isa.

Title: Re: Question regarding Gibraltar hardware...
Post by: autoexec on June 24, 2007, 04:15:41 PM

hehehe.. chances are nangyari na siguro before.. coz you would also wonder, why add a chain wherein maggiging expensive you product mo. First, price ng chain, second, labour to put in that extra chain, third is the time to assemble.

Title: Re: Question regarding Gibraltar hardware...
Post by: harugrugrug on June 25, 2007, 01:27:33 AM

mejo mabigat.. although mabilis ung attack..

direct drive... sarap.. parang sapatos mo ung pedal..

repeat steps 1 to 3

diko sure kung sobrang higpit or i need to replace the springs itself.

nka medium tension sya ngayon.

Post by: intake on September 14, 2007, 12:43:32 PM

@intake

pinatesting ko un peds ko kay sir john carpio(drummer ng end of man) nung magkasabay kme sa gig, he liked how it was responsive enough sa pitik nya, knowing sir john... mabigat ang tension ng springs nya i guess, pero he enjoyed my medium setting(palakpak tenga!)

ano ba magandang lube sa 6611? wd40? signer oil? or castor oil?  :-D

Title: Re: Mga Sir Ask po ng advise if Gibraltar pedals are good?
Post by: plep on November 21, 2007, 10:38:20 PM

hope it helps

just went to jb music sa sm megamall this afternoon looking for a 6607 hi-hat stand. there were no stock and so i just asked and close the confusion about weather it has a rotating base because my "gib. hardware booklet" said it has a movable leg base, so the staff told me it doesn't though i strongly believe it does have a rotating leg base.... a little unjustified, i asked the lower series the 5607.. the same staff told me "sir ang alam ko pag lower series, lalong hindi rotating base un".

well that's possible but how could it be? i got the little gib. hardware booklet with all the description, saying 5607 has a rotating leg base.

then i asked about the pearl hi-hat stand if it had a rotating leg base, cause it does look like one... then he said "pwede po sir basta pipilitin mo, pero kung natural, hindi po"
well, with one look i know it does have the rotating base, i could be wrong but it does looks like it does.

mejo nabadtrip na ko and a slight feeling of napilosopo, so alis nalang kame ng kasama ko...although i did not forget to say thank you even with the "i know my products" attitude of that staff.

AFAIK, hindi talaga kailiangan ng sleeve or tape and hihat clutch kasi hindi naman naka-tilt ang top hat. Dahil dito, walang friction between the hihat hole and the threads on the clutch.

Each yan ah. Basta around 3k ang 5600 series hardware, before discounts.

I think kahit saang branch walang stock kasi the last time, I was looking for a 5610. Ayun, ended up getting a 6610 instead. Same thing sa snare stand.

If you want something even cheaper, try the Gib 3311s.

Kaso walang rock plate, so I'd assume it's less stable? The 5611 Prowler is built like a tank kasi eh.

hi guys,

this is what we do to prevent screws from loosening. learned this from another hobby of mine, R/C helicopters and airplanes.

for metal-to-metal contact (i.e., metal screws screwed on to metal parts), use a threadlock solution. just dab a few drops on the thread and tighten as usual.

this will prevent the screws from backing out. the good thing is, this is not permanent. when you need to remove the screw again from maintenance, apply a little heat to soften up the threadlock and loosen the screw normally. you can use the tip of a soldering iron, touch the tip to the head of the screw to heat it up.

this can be found in some hardwares, but moslty they are abundant in R/C hobby shops. there's one in parksquare 1 makati, Lils hobby shop. there are also a couple of hobby shops in the Hobby of Asia Mall Macapagal. it usually costs around Php200-600.

hope this helps.  :-D

2nd is lumilipad yung beater ko kaya after 1 or 2 songs kailangan ko ulit higpitan which is nakakaasar minsan

one thing fo sure is sulit na sya for a tight budget (lalo pa kung nagsale sa jb/salonga)

sir mambo,..

alam mo yung parang thin carpet thing na parang sticky ??

parang baller ID yung texture in sheet form,..

yun i double sided tape mo sa ilalim ng peds,..

then gupit ka ng exact shape or any shape you want,..

kapit na kapit sa carpet,tiles,wood

note: wag mo hugasan,.. mababawasan yung friction or kapit nya  pag moisted

punasan lang yung tiles kung tiles man,.. leave is squicky clean before installing

sa carpet make sure dust free yung lalapagan, same sa wood ^^,

para todo kapit  :-)

Sample Pics

Haha... DYOWK!!!

sir, just want to ask kung san makakabili ng screw para dun sa link ng double pedals for the 5611 prowler model?

Try mo tabi sa "ruler" or "tape measure" then post mo...

1st of all, mali po yung magpost ka na lang ng tanong sa pinoy drums...
Dito po dapat yun, http://talk.philmusic.com/board/index.php/topic,206691.0.html

2nd, "velcro base" yung tinutukoy mo...
Sa main pedal (right) talagang wala...
Kaya no need na for a "velcro base" so if I were you i-allign mo sa pader like others do...

Pedal Attached (imaginin mo nalang double pedal)

If di mo afford... Do It Yourself... :-D

APIR!!! SAME LANG TAYO!!!
College level pa ko tol...
Masikip din house namin so...
Bawal ang drumset dito...
Pero kahit 100 ang baon mo...
Di mo pwedeng sabihin "100 lang"
Ipon-ipon lang or mag-part time ka...
Most pinoy drummers walang kit..
Puro drumsitck & accessories lang...
Drum keys, Drum stick bags, Ear plugs...
Like me...
Hahaha... :-D
Balak ko bumili ng 2peds last december...
Naunaahan lang ako eh...
Nauwi tuloy sa ibang gamit...
Balak ko after ng pedals...
Snare naman...
Then 1 by 1 bubuuin ko yun...
From 200 pesos a day... :-)
Tuloy ang praktis kahit "Air Drums"
Or kung di ka kuntento like me...

Eto sayo...

and natanggap nila na dun talaga ako  :-)

technique:

and last kasabay noon ay

para same nag iimprove ang gears and skills

BTW para ma-inspired ka

here's the history of my kits "Buy n Sell" old->new = bottom->top

@Topic: in my opinion, as a beginner ok din po yung double bass pedal agad, kaso pwede ka pong maging dependent na sa double pedals and yung progress might be slower than using a single pedal, maybe mag concentrate ka po muna sa single pedal ,..

example:

imagin the sound of "dug pag dudupak dudupak" (can be easily heard at the song of "MCR" Helena at the verse)

if you are using 2 peds, what you're  going to do is just "one right foot, one left foot, Snare" butin single peds you are forced to practice your foot to do that sound in single pedal.

BTW i'm not saying that you need to sold you dpeds,.. after all its a 2 single pedals  :-)

practice more on your left foot

Just saw your post form this thread...
http://talk.philmusic.com/board/index.php/topic,181895.new.html#new
Haha, I'm glad to help you out tol (di sa pera pero sa information nalang sana...
Gibraltar pedals cost around 7k and above (brand new) anything below that must be on sale, or maybe second hand. Second hand items, pedals in 5611 or 6611 series cost around 2.5k - 4k...
Most Philmusicians use the Gibraltar pedals as a spare pedal alongside their Iron Cobras, Demon Drives & Axis pedals... Some of them mainly use it as their main or their "gig" pedal... So they won't damage their Iron Cobras, Demon Drives & Axis pedals while "on the move" to the gig or while playing in the actual gig... I haven't read any stolen pedals here in Philmusic, yet I can assume this decision or move also minimize the risk or your valued pedal (Iron Cobras, Demon Drives & Axis pedals) getting stolen... :-D

Salamat Sir!

Goodluck in searching your future Pedal :-)

but lately, when i tried their heavy duty hardwares, i would say angat talaga ang quality, its even close to pearl 1000 and 2000 series. i recently bought heavy duty boom arms, the liquid drive no leg hat stand and the heavy duty ball tom mounts and i'm 100% satisfied. pati price nila very reasonable.  yun lang masasabi ko, matibay ang heavy duty class ng gibraltar at malayo ang agwat sa mga gibs na usually naka display sa stores. +1 sa gibraltar hardware --- value for money hardware.

Gibraltar 9608OS = Oversized Motorcycle Seat with EXTRA Soft Foam
(http://i1128.photobucket.com/albums/m494/musicianurse/DSCN1804_zpsd38d2dfc.jpg)

Langit sa piling ng pwet ko! Malaki, malambot, masarap..

Malaki = Sakop niya lahat, may sobra pa.

Take this from me, magandang investment ang may sarili kang high-end throne. For your own comfort na rin. Less fatigue, less stress, more fun in playing or practicing. Mas mahihikayat ka pa mag ensayo lalo.

Invest na! :-D Maganda yung DW(kay Bagets), Pork Pie Gel Throne(Napakalalim, siguradong napakalambot), etong Gibraltar, at yung Ahead Spinal Throne.

Anyway mga paps, balik tayo sa topic. This is one thing I like about Gibraltar. Hindi sila drumset or anything, they are hardcore hardware especially for drums na talaga namang reliable. I back read itong thread, and yes marameng natutuwa sa Gibraltar.

Pwede siya pero wag mo isagad, pero why out a 19 inch there? Anu yung katani niyang cymbal?kung mas magaan e dun ilagay ang mas maliit na cymbal, and if you are trying to do that dapat heavy duty ang cymbal stand mo,baka mabengkong yan Kung generic lang.and I think it's around 2k maybe less
