the idea is cool, almost bought one last year but found out that it limits your "left foot technique". cant do side to side hihat heel splashes because doing so will engage the double bass mode. another down side is that you cant play your hihat at the same time with the left foot bass which i also normally do

it would still depend on the final costs when it arrives but in my estimate on the usual 5-pc set........, M Series would be in the 34K -38 range, the M-Pro Series would be in the 50-60K range depending on color and accessories
unfortunately, the Black panther snares will be a bit late, about 3 weeks. There is a huge back order on the BP Snares due to an overwhelming demand.
The guys at TMS set-up the Q, QR, VX, M-Birch, M-Pro & Saturn. The hardware is pretty impressive and the supension system too on the Toms. We have had some interested parties that have hung around.

haha. ay sorry. ako nga ang nakabili nung phosphor bronze. maganda ang tunog. actually, i was telling jp, from the point of view of the drummer playing it, it sounds strikingly identical to my chad smith snare, but from afar, the difference is quite dramatic.

Okay na okay yung hardware, mukhang very durable, cute din yung lagayan ng drum key sa ilalim ng pedal hehe. The tritonal beater adds character and uniqueness sa pedal na ito. And not to mention na double chain pa ito. Got it for only 3,500 php (kinard ko kasi kaya no 10% off hehe)

walang difference yun pre. the best thing about mapex, kapag bumili ka ng pro m, high end na yun kahit na mid-priced kit sya! pareho lang ang maple shell ng pro m, saturn at orion. nagkakatalo lang sa outer 2 plies nila dahil decorative veneer yung outer part na yun.

I haven't really tinkered with my new cat yet. Out of the box, it sounds warmer and more crisp than the PDP Popcorn drum. The PDP drum is 6" deep, while this new BP is 5.5" deep. Give me a few more weeks, then I'm gonna write my review on my blogsite. Thanks for appreciating! 8-)

To answer this question, yes I am making it my primary snare. Why not diba? who said that we drummers should limit how we use our gears. I have seen a lot of people using the same size as their primary snare, although most them are acrylic snare, still they used it as their primary. Maybe it will be new to you at first because of the size but you'll get a hang of it. Hope that answered your question...thanks po mga sir for the for the infos and tips. i tried using mine once and ang problema ko dito is medyo mataas lang siya so i need to adjust my seat height more. pero oks nga siya sarap din ng ganung set up na snare.. astig yun sir Suspendead! :-) tama ka bro Black Panther! love ko na rin i primary yung 12x7 ko! siguro i just need a snare stand na lower height para oks na! :mrgreen:

Looks like the the 7x12 Pro-M has got a lot of fans! Lemme join the bandwagon. :-D I was in the market for a wood snare. After giving it a lot of thought I headed to Forerunner and got my baby panther from JP yesterday buti nalang since it was the last piece ata. I was pretty surprised at the sound that this drum gives out. When it was taken out of the box it looked like a small tom due to its depth and diameter. I was hesistant at first to get it 'coz of the size having owned 6.5 x 14 (Rogers) and 7 x 14 (Yamaha) steel snares I was worried about hitting the rim instead of the drum. After a quick tune up by Mr. Panther I was sold. This snare is (insert expletive here) loud! Even with the stock heads it sounded pretty promising. Looking forward to the shipment of die-cast hoops! :-P Road tested it sa studio, to my surprise it wasn't as hard to hit as I thought, though cross sticking will take some getting used to. Loving it already, it'll make make its debut tonight! :mrgreen: Thanks to Mr. Pogi (JP) and Forerunner for giving us affordable alternatives which are at par with their more expensive counterparts! Mabuhay! :wink:

there are some stagg products at dagupan audio and jil's, i suggest you check it out also, they can order mapex from us since they disrtibute stagg also,well just in case the stock you are looking is not there, then they can order it from us, at least you wont travel to manila anymore and you will have that comfort of getting mapex products there, cheers man ... :wink:

yep 15k siya. kaso problema eh special order pa yan... meaning may 50% downpayment, tapos mga isang buwan (or more) na hintay bago mo makuha yung snare.
kaso p*cha, ang ganda ng 13x5.5 brass BP. perfect blend ng power, crack, tsaka sensitivity. ang musical pa ng brass, hindi kasing harsh ng steel kaso andun pa rin yung pagka-bakal niya.

I just got my Mapex Brass Piccolo snare and what can I say... it was a blast!
The first time I hit it it was really piercing... Wow! it sounded like it could cut to anything in the mix. Ibang-iba ang projection nya kesa sa steel snare (I tried both). I really liked how it responded very quickly sa 32nd notes at my quickest BPM... galing ng definition (parang HDTV ba? hehehehe).
The brass was definitely louder but I am not sure if it is because of the metal used or yung timpla nung drum. It must be the brass.
Sino pa sa inyo ang nakatry ng ganitong brass snare drum? Any tips sa tuning or usage? Do you tune it high or low? Pag folk-rock (Baguio kasi) ang setting, siguro Maybe I will tune it mid-tension lang.

pearl target series was intended for the asian market only, if you will look at the pearl website hindi kasama ang model na ito, the mapex q series is way way higher model than the target series, soundwise and hardware wise lamang and q seires sa target, i am saying not becuase i am biased with mapex, but since i was able to handle before the marketing area of both pearl drums in yupangco and mapex during my stint in forerunner tech.. :wink:

I'm not really familiar sa mga BP snare though. Anong BP snare marerecommend nyo for metal genre? I need something that cuts through the mix, can be tuned low, and has a really LOUD crack.

ako i do, sir. my mapex mayan has die cast hoops and my sledgehammer has sonic savers and i can say na sa feel palang kapag nahawakan mo na, alam mo nang mas tatagal ang sticks mo sa sonic saver hoops. i used a new pair of sticks when i first tried out the sledgehammer and after a couple of hours of playing, it's pretty visible na less yung uka sa sticks. still feels like a die cast hoop kaya sarap parin mag rimshot. :)
