anyway, sana may makadiskubre. ganto rin sa opis kaya pinagbawal ang P2P apps  - not because they are usually not work-related pero dahil napapatay ang HTTP.

could this be something intentional with PLDT's set-up? or does it have something to do with router and/ or firewall and antivirus settings? im using netgear wireless router. as for security, im using avast and zonealarm as antivirus and firewall, respectively.

hopefully, a techie can shed some light on this  :-)

oh and yes - the best and utorrent - sooooo lightweight pero sobrang galing!

its Peer to Peer.

actually, p2p applications like limewire, bearshare, kazaa and the likes uses a LOT of your bandwidth, kaya sumosobra bagal ng connection. kaya hindi kayo makapagbrowse, i used to download using limewire pro. you can control the alloted bandwidth sa settings nung program. para makapagbrowse pa rin kayo while downloading.

yup, lakas talaga kumain ng bandwidth - that is if you really let it (esp pag nakaset na unlimited ang bandwidth na gagamitin both for D/L and U/L). pero i guess meron talagang nagagawa ang mga P2P that kills the http/ web connection other than slowing it down.

It's very common that for the first few minutes, ok pa - pwede pang sabay (medyo mabagal lang ang http dahil nga very active ang bandwidth sa P2P) pero after a while nawawala talaga - as in zero na. even if patayin mo na yung P2P, minsan, di na makakabalik sa http connection.

usually, re-start na lang ng both modem and router ginagawa ko, hehehe.  :-D

i forgot to mention, most p2p softwares, lalo na yung mga unpaid versions, have bundled spywares.

yup, marami ngang P2P apps ang bundled with adware/ spyware/ malware.

ingat especially (do not install na lang!) sa Kazaa and Morpheus.

guaranteed safe and recommended P2P apps are Limewire and uTorrent (that is, yung basic program - depende na lang sa user kung magdownload sya ng file na may virus o malware)

recommended progs din for scanning and removing (freeware ito) adware/ spyware/ malware:
- Spybot Search and Destroy
- Lavasoft Ad-Aware

livewire basic is preloaded with free spyware, kaso hindi sya nadedetect ng mga antispywares. in my case, i use limewire pro.
