Hehehe! I think I know who will get the best & worst rating here, but anyway, everyone's encouraged to post their comments, experiences in this thread, positive or negative.
You may also include music stores from abroad!
Simulan ko na!

Yupangco Music (Main) Best customer service from JP
Buduan. Although most of their products are on the higher-end, sulit  naman sa freebies!
'sarap pa tumambay, kasi youre not refrained from testing their products.

Tom Lee Music (T.S.T.,Hongkong) Widest range of brands to choose from, Instructional CDs/DVDs of all sorts, Play-testing is allowed, better price (compared to local dealers here in Phils.) Customer service is ok,but not better than pinoys :-D

Parson's Music (Festival Walk,Kowloon tong) Play-testing is allowed, wide range of products, and brands specially Instructional CDs & DVDs. Customer service is passable :-)

JB Music (Alabang,SMsouthmall,Main office) Poor customer service most of the time! Mabagal, palpak na quotations, impolite shop attendants sa (main office)and not knowledgeable enough about the products they sell.

Walang feel.
Yung shop nya parang museum, di basta pwede mahipo yung gamit..and yung price.... buy one for the price of two, whooooaaa!

IM not a drummer pero sali rin ako.

I went there liek 8 times and tried several guitars even the electric drums before i made a purchase. Service though was not that good but the price is very competitive.

top 5 sales person and music stores in metro manila
« Reply #8 on: February 14, 2007, 07:06:53 PM »
hi there.

i had this bad experience and very bad feeling
after ko mag inquire sa kilalang music store in the metro.
i'm just a starter and willing to buy nice cymbals.
i really don't have any idea kung pano
and their websites.
i'm now familiar with the brand and the model because of the reviews

or yung iba naman after asking many questions and many trials sa cymbals nila
pero hindi mo binili on that same day, pag balik mo at nakita yun pagmumuka mo,

it's normal to compare cymbals to one another kaya parang mag store hoping  ka.
first to that store, try and then try another store until makita mo yung gusto mo.

as a sales person trabaho mo ipakita lahat ng hinahanap ng customer mo
and let us try everything.  hindi man bilhin on that particular time

who's selling new brand also. they let me try every single cymbal na ituro ko
na walang time pressure. and because of that very kind and very nice sales person

just sharing my sentiments. peace :-) :-)

PEACE MAN

i dont know if i can still trust them sa mga ganitong bagay.. napaka hassle... walang guarrantee ang after sales, big time store pa naman.. and yung mga sales person nila lalo na si tanda, nakakainis..

Ugali ko din yan whenever I go to music stores.

So Be It.

....sa JB Makati noong 90's ok sa orayt yung customer service nila. Bebot yung dating store manager nila na very accomodating.

Last year, around January,sa JB makati ulit.

amen to that sir Bammbamm :-) :-)

So the next day nagpanggap ako na japanese ako, naka suit kasi ako nun pero nung una jeans at t-shirt lang and alam nya pinoy ako. Aba nung nalaman hapon ako at medyo baliko ingles at japanese accent, todo assist at ang bait. pag sinabi kong i'll be back aba walang palag. ok lang ang nasabi.

yun bagong store where i bought yun cymbals ko, sana pag nagtagal sila at dumami na customer nila
wag sana sila magbago. stay humble and accomodating lang sana and more branches pa sana. layo kasi samen eh.

peace to everybody :-D

i was at raon last month, went to the "sikat na music store" in that area for amps.
im wearing my favorite outfit pag pumpunta me sa raon.. shorts and tshirt.. mukang wala talagang pambile..hehe..
i didnt waste my time dun sa store na yun and dun ako pumasok sa tapat na store..

For me, nothing could compare to the service that I got from Richard and Phin of The Music Source and Sir JP and Bea of Yupangco Main...ASTIG!!!

I try to understand na lang na the reason for that is that they are still learning. And most often the managers pa ang tumulong talaga sa need ng customers, kasi nga managers na sila and they know how to deal with it.

I admit, I'm one of those customers na madalas lang magwindow shoppin, but once I find an item na talagang gusto ko, ndi ko na bibitawan...as a customer, ofcourse, you have the right to choose what you want regardless of how long it takes for you to decide...ndi lang kasi napapapraktis dito saten sa Pinas yun...we're not that aware of our rights...consumer-wise...I'm not saying that we should over-practice it...I also work in the customer service myself...often we don't confront these bad experiences para lang ndi na gumulo ang usapan, dba? but it makes matters worst in the end. Bumabawi na lang tayo from the bad experience by word of mouth or like this...thru threads in forums...

Share ko lang experience ko...I really had a hard time looking for a 12" Pinstripe from JB last year...out-of-stock daw...tanong ako ng tanong every week, pero to no avail...Then one time, I went to Perfect Pitch in Megamall...you know what happened? I ended buying a whole set of batter for my kit which is a Pearl Protone 2ply. You know why? kasi yung attendant nila is napaka-accomodating...I'm sorry to that guy..i forget his name...ndi ko tuloy ma-special mention...12" lang hinahanap ko...napalitan ko tuloy buong batter ng kit ko...PLUS!!! he gave me some catalogs from Fender and Pearl...ganun ka powerful ang customer service....

I don't mean to offend anyone....

Well, Ive been to SM (Fairview, North EDSA, Megamall and Main) branches of Perfect Pitch. I could easily say, that all attendants who have dealt with me are ok. Accomodating, answers all questions and even looks for the item that you want to test, hinahanap pa nga sa item list ung gusto mo malaman n price even if you said ur just inquiring, wlng problem....

Ive been to JB SM(Fairview, North EDSA, Megamall and Mall of Asia) branches, sa SM Mall of asia lng ako naentertain ng maayos. The rest thinks n di ka sure buyer, so wl silang iooffer syo.... di k man lng nga i assist, ituturo lng sa yo.. "ayun ung white"... hehehe.. nakakatawa sila.. lahat ng branches n namention ko except mall of asia, nagkwekwentuhan lng, ayaw maabala... they only entertain kids with their parents.... at yung mga rich looking lng... OK IM NOT SAYING N THEY ARE ALWAYS LIKE THAT, SINCE DI NAMAN AKO PUMUPUNTA SA KANILA ON DAILY BASIS.... BUT TO SM FV AND NORTH EDSA.. MADALAS AKO SUMILIP SA DRUMS NILA... STILL THE SAME..

Im not sure nga pala... somebody was buying cymbals, 1 set of ZXT yata... JB personnel said.... Mas Maganda to kesa sabian... low end yun.... di hamak n mas maganda tunog nito... mas mura to... wahhhh gusto ko magreact... e all Sabian ako... at misleading ang info.. it should have been... "there are different product lines, they should be compared among their levels".. YUN PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE DAPAT NILA MATUTUNAN.....

Anyway.. its up to their bosses.. sayang, sana ung gibraltar hardware napunta n lng sa PP, pr di mahirap mag inquire.... now I only go to MANILA MUSIC RAON or this product.. mura at maasikaso... lagi kasi nandun ang boss...

by the way... galing ako Main ng PP, met JP... i was surprised.... I have met him before (nakikita ko sya) sa dating school n pinagtuturuan ko... way back in 2002 p... regarding with the service... excellent.. no wonder i get good sales service from their branches.....

Well nowadays I would say Yupanco's JP and Bea score top marks for me.

Where else would you find sales people goin the extra mile? And talk about drum knowledge and skills, they have it. So no customer could [gooey brown stuff] their way through this duo. Whether you're a drum God or just gettin into drumming, JP and Bea will make sure you're treated like royalty.

its a shame Bea's leavin Yupancs, im sure tons of people will miss her and the Dragonman will be left alone again, back to his one-man-show groove!

Kudos to JP and Bea! Swerte lang talaga Yupancs sa inyo.

Yeah man,your'e right!
Aside from Jaypee of Yupangco (who happened to be my personal friend)
JB Music store in ATC is one of the few music stores that accomodates customer fairly well.
Galing ako sa JB Southmall kanina. Tanung-tanong, palo-palo ako, as usual.
Tanong-tanong naman ako about prices of their keyboards, sinagot naman nya,at nag recommend pa sya ng mga models na mas mura. Then I told her I already bought one yesterday, di sya napikon at tinanong nya kung saan ako bumili, sabi ko sa RJ Makati at Casio lang ang binili ko kasi 11-year old na bata lang naman ang gagamit at sayang naman kung high end ang bilhin ko kung ma outgrow lang ng bata yung keyboard, and she agreed!
Very accomodating yung chick...ehem!... bukod sa maganda :-D

After that, punta ko sa JB Alabang Town Center.
Well, I ended up with going home with 16" A custom fast crash and LP small Ice Bell in my shopping bag!

See? Problema sa ibang attendants very unprofessional! :-o
