Price range on tort pickguards?
« on: September 23, 2010, 08:35:19 AM »
I'm contemplating changing my SE pickguard to tortoise.  Can anyone give me an idea how much it'd cost total with local luthiers to have one made?  I appreciate the work that goes into this, cutting, bevelling, etc, and I don't want to go DIY with it.  Would you say it'd be cheaper than 1500 pesos all-in?

Here's my guitar with the stock black pickguard.

Hey Siore, I had a custom tortoise pickguard made in the past but I had to source the pickguard from guitarpartsresource.com

http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/pickguard_material.htm

The pickguard material alone cost more than 1.5K, but in your case you'll probably need only 1/4 of it. Maybe there are others who would know a cheaper source for a tortoise pickguard material since the price for it in guitarpartsresource are a bit steep.

Oo nga eh.. Just need a small bit of material for it.. Think I'll check the luthier threads first.
