any feedback on a 13x3.5 mapex picollo?? plano ko bumili this september eh which is better for metal music?? maple or brass?? thanxx.. d pa kase ako nagkakaroon ng 13" na snare eh hehehe out oftopic ata tong post ko
I used to have a 13x3 pearl picollo and have used lildrummerboy's 13x3.5 mapex picollo on our music, sometimes, we also play heavy music, napansin ko na hirap siya mag project, plus nakakabitin yung punch niya dahil nga 3.5 lang ang depth nito. Pagdating sa mga pop at mga fusion, oks naman ang picollos...good crack, sensitive at focused...pero syempre, malaking factor ang tuning din. hope you find what you're looking for kapatid. godbless.
pero if you really want the pitch of a picollo with added power to that punch, 13x5-6.5 maybe the sound you're looking for, but usually deeper snares tend to lose the crack...and the solution for that is getting good quality snare wires or getting more strands on your snare wire(e.g. 30's or 42's strands).
