Help troubleshooting a faulty pedal.
« on: October 08, 2015, 11:06:14 PM »
Hey guys, i need your help. I'm trying to DIY repair my broken pedal, it's a ProCo Rat II.

The Issue: No sound when engaged. There's a signal when bypassed.

here's what ive done so far:

1. replaced a capacitor (C2) which i thought was faulty.
2. i tried taking apart the footswitch, seems like it's mechanism is working perfectly.

i have multimeter.... but i dont know how use it. hahaha

i cant do electronics for [gooey brown stuff].

so.. can anybody show me how to troubleshoot this pedal?

here are the gut shots & schematic

I'll subtract pain by ounces. Yeah, I will start painting houses if things come alive.

but the trouble is.. i dont know. what's going on.

i found a dead spot at Q2 going to the output.. though im not sure if that's what it think it is.
