Drum Silencers & Mutes / Drum Muffling Thread *merged*
« on: September 08, 2006, 09:59:57 PM »
Hey fellow drummers, just wondering if u know where to buy mutes for the drum set. Or any easy and cheap alternatives. its kind of a hassle making alot of sound where i live. hehe  :D

Btw I used a mouse pad for my practice pad and just glued it on a hard bound book. seems to work fine..

THnx!
power in numbers!!!

A number of manufacturers offer drumset mutes/silencers.  Here are some examples...

HQ Percussion Sound Off...

Sabian Quiet Tone...

Pro-Mark Drumset Mutes...

Or perhaps you can try any of those mesh drumheads.  I haven't tried that yet; but they say that one can get the feel of a real drumhead.  And it's silent, which is perfect for noiseless practice.  The only downside, I think, is when you're gonna use mesh heads on a drumkit that you normally use on gigs or rehearsal, you need to replace the mesh heads with real drumheads, which takes some time and effort.

^ Yes! Mesh drumheads.

I kept the resonant head intact at nakatono, tapos mufflehead yung lahat ng batter.
So Be It.

So Be It.

i have the vic firth mute pads on my kit...i find it very useful kasi ipapatong mo lang sa kit mo this is a big help if you wanted to practice pero late na at ayaw mo makaisortbo sa kapitbahay..yung bounce nandun pa rin pero syempre wala na yun noise..antony dio was able to try this when he visited sa drum room ko sa bahay..hehe...ganda ng paintings ko noh dio hehe

sa toms ko, meron akong mga HQ sound off, na parang rubber thingy. un talaga, patay na patay ang tunog. actually lagyan mo lang ng kumot or any cloth ok na.

sa cymbals nakabalot sila ng t-shirt.

tada! murang mura. :-D
