I have an Epi SG (cherry - G400) and I'm not sure if it's sounding as SG hahaha. Ano ba signature sound ng SG ?

ok SG kasi magaan. hehe..

kaso i think hindi well design ang SG compare sa LP/strat/tele. hindi cya form follows function. hehe

Yung SG PRO, available, yung regular SG, discontinued na  :-D  Check out the out of production models in the Epi website.

http://www.epiphone.com/Products/Out-of-Production.aspx

Pero to summarize, here are the differences:
- PRO model has Wilkinson Vintage tuners vs. Grovers on a regular G400
- PRO model has a different pickup with coil-tap for single-coil (strat/tele-like) sound

More details here:
https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.276019922512847.63294.225644267550413&type=3

The link above is comparison between G400, G400 PRO, and Ltd. Ed. 1966 G400.  You'll see the cosmetic differences in the pictures.

Since G400 is discountinued, then go for G400 PRO.  There are still remaining G400s floating around, so even though it is out of production, it can be available.  Same with  Ltd. Ed. 1966 G400 - discontinued as well and has been replaced by Ltd. Ed. 1966 G400 PRO.

Haha, yeah contemplating. Super nakaka gas ang sale ng crescendo!

Techbp - depends sa music mo.  For all around pickups, you can't go wrong with PAF-based pickups like gibson 57s, dimarzio 36th PAF or seymour duncan 59s.

I'm not an SG expert (still finding the right time to buy a Gibson SG for myself), but I would describe it as Les Paul tone with a strat bite.  Note sure if this is how the SG experts would describe it, but at least that's my experience.  I find the les paul too smooth.  I'm a strat guy, so I really love the SG becuase it gives me some of that strat scream with a smoother tone.

Less than 50k sa Black Friday Sale ng Crescendo yung Gibson SG Standard Limited. Only difference with an SG Standard is the baked maple fretboard. I think I want one but the fretboard isbmaking me think twice.

To buy or not?  What do you guys think?    :-D

Might make the SG a little brighter than it already is because of the maple.  But good reviews abound!  Hayz!  :-o
