Burstbuckers 1 and 2 on the les paul, stock Fender pickups on the strat.
Paborito ko pa din ang 59 Duncans sa neck pero kelangan ko ma-try muna ang BB1 bago ma-convert.
I want to try Throbaks. Madaming sampalataya sa Throbaks PAF's. :)

GFS hot alnico single coils on my strat. Entwistle HDN on the bridge of my superstrat (neck and middle are stock ceramic). Stock alnico pickup on my Epiphone Les Paul and Powered by Lace pickup on my custom dual humbucker strat.
The Entwistle pickup doesn't jive well with my superstrat. The body is bright and the HDN is just making it brighter to the point of being shrill. Will be replacing it but don't know when.

Nathan, what is the wood of the strat you put Antiquities in? How are you liking the tone? How does it differ from the 57/62?
its on a '62ri-ish guitar. i like it a lot. yung overall deeper bass and hotter bridge makes my transition from tele to strat easier. the 57/62 has more pop sa high end of the sound though (which i like). i wish i could have the deeper bass from this set plus the high end snap of the 57/62.
one thing i noticed about the 57/62 though is that, because its got all that top end, i tend to change the strings more often on it. on older strings, nawawala yung high end and it starts sounding thin but at the same time muffled. not bell like at all.

Nakapaginstall na ako ng Invader before. Grabe, ang laki ng tunog. Suited talaga for heavy music. Tweak lang ng pickup height kasi pag napasobra ng taas, medyo muddy na siya. So far, it's my favorite high output pickup, along side the Seymour Duncan JB. :-D

Im initially not into upgrades and replacements but due to constant usage my electronics eventually gave in one by one.
For my main guitar a Telecaster, I'm using a DiMarzio Twang King Neck DP172 and a Tone Zone T Bridge DP389. As a natural neck player, most of my guitar work is done with the Twang King. I find the Tone Zone T a bit louder compared to the latter so I use it only if I have to. Recently, I had Arie install a push/pull tone knob for series/parallell switching as an additional option and to help even out some frequencies.

I've put in a Dimarzio Super Distortion/PAF Pro on a 1983 Aria Pro II RR Copy. It just compliments the Alder body and I love the warm chunky tone I get with it.
Then I have EMG 81/85 put in on my LTD EX-50 powered by 2 9v batteries. Loved it til I tried an Andy James signature model with EMG 57/66

Rockstar Double Fat Strat Copy: DiMarzio/Ibz Bridge and Neck humbuckers - I got these pickups from my Prestige RG, and decided to put them here because the stock pickups of this guitar were terrible. In a naturally dark sounding guitar, the neck pickup adds clarity and throatiness to the single lines, and the bridge delivers a strong chugging sound when playing rhythm.
Ibanez RG350EX: DiMarzio Breed Bridge, Area 58 middle, and Air Norton neck pickups - With a sufficiently low action, you can get wonderful biting sounds from the relatively dark-sounding humbuckers. In order to increase the top end response, I raised the polepieces on one side of each humbucker which creates a slight imbalance in the sound that the two coils pick up. The Area 58 is an excellent faux-Strat pickup on its own, and combines wonderfully with either humbucker when in positions 2 and 4.
Ibanez RG2550EGK: DiMarzio Breed bridge and Air Norton neck with DiMarzio/Ibz middle - This guitar is more neutral in sound compared to the 350, so I decided not to raise the polepieces on the humbuckers. The result is a slightly warmer and a bit higher output sound which works really well with amp overdrive channels. The DiMarzio/Ibz middle pickup is a lower output single coil which has a "glassier" sound compared to the Area 58, and provides excellent contrast to the warm humbucker pickups. The split positions are equally awesome.
Yes, I'm a bit of a DiMarzio fan :-D

Bare Knuckle Pickups: Crawlers, front and back on an EBMM Silhouette.
Kept the stock dimarzio in the middle, which is a pretty good sounding single coil.
Congrats for the joining the bareknuckles club! I also have the crawler set in my BC Rich. Bareknuckles has so many humbuckers that I want to collect them all to place in guitars.

Unfortunately Im too bad at reviewing pickups :-P pero here's my first impression when the stocks, pots and pc board were replaced. The tone is very vintage but gnarly. Yung parang galit na PAF. Can do metal, with high gain amp yes, but still retain that vintage character. We gigged with Killswitch Engage/ As I Lay Dying set and my other guitarist was on actives. You can clearly distinguish the vintage tone on mine kahit naka high gain na. I do not know how these behave on the other guitars but sa SG, it felt tight sounding, not mushy and a bit agressive. A bit middy than the regular PAFs but not icepicky. Hope this helps!

'82 Gibson V upgraded with a Dimarzio Transition Neck Humbucker and a Seymour Duncan Screamin' Demon Bridge Humbucker.
The Screamin' Demon reminds me of the stock pickups of my old Yamaha SG1000. Very bright-almost single coily mid-output.
The Dimarzio Transition is quite dark...sounds like a half-cocked wah.

I use the same set as well.Kapag bedroom level wala akong problem with feedback at all. The tricky part is when playing at gig volume since i don't use noise gates.Nakaalalay talaga ako sa volume knob ng guitar and as much as possible medyo lumalayo ako sa amp.=)

Got a lace fingerburner. Didn't like it at first(ice pickey highs). I replaced my black tusq nut to bone. Then boom, love the lead tone.

Not your average run-of-the-mill pups for sure . I've played a buddy's LP w/ the Tims and another w/ Throbaks, and those LP's RAWKED. I've never had the pleasure of trying the others out, but I hear good things tone-wise. Some of those pickups cost more than some guitars damn.

Title: Re: What pickups do you have/do you use in your guitar?

Hmm, the ML X is a basswood body, if you're looking for a bluesy vintage tone... I'd try a P90 pickup set.
Lollars, Lindy Fralins and others are also good but a little more expensive. the Dimarzios and Seymour Duncans are more readily available, kahit used lang affordable.
Depende rin sa set-up mo, but I'd recommend P90's for sure for a bluesy vintage sound without the bite of higher output pups. Make sure the P90's are a hum-canceling version though kasi may hum yan eh, parang single coil siya.
My humble advice lang :)

thanks for the advice sir, I'll look into it! :) will have to watch and listen to more demos though, usually kasi mga bridge pickup lang ang nae emphasize at di ko masyado trip yung P90 dun. pwede ba pagsamahin yung p90 na neck at low output humbucker na bridge?

Yup, pwede naman more so if you like the combination of said pickups. Gibson actually had a model called the Les Paul BFG that actually had that pup combination. Not sure which Burstbucker it had on though.

Pwede, eto yung style din ng lee malia EP e and parang ganto din usual setup ko (with my cheapo gears). Pero dalawang humbuckers gamet ko, naka coil split lang yung neck.
I usually use the dc resistance as a starting gauge, pero di sya rule at all. Usually, vintage stuff around 8 to 8.9 outputs. swabe sa cleans yun, pero mej mababa na pag split coiled. yung akin ngayon nasa 9s yung neck (tone rider ac2) and satisfied naman ako sa coil splits nya.
PEARLY GATES FTW
Sali din ako.
Tonerider AC 2 (no covers) Cheap, but nice. :>

How's the voicing of DiMarzio Titans sir? I'm curious about it. Let's say a comparison to JB and Illuminators, in terms of voicing and output. :?
What hasn’t been said about the JB ? Mainly used in the bridge position, the SH-4 is high-gain, low, punchy, great for blues or hard rock, and can edge into ‘metal’ territory if you have the right rig. Cleans are warm, less sterile than a lot of pups in the bridge. Guitar used: Carvin CT4 (Mahogany)
The Illuminator bridge is an improvement on the Crunchlab; more ‘open' sounding, bump in the mid-range, less ‘compressed’ sounding than the CL. Cleans so so in the bridge, better in the neck. Guitar used: EBMM Majesty (Basswood, maple top)
The Titan bridge is full on high gain without the mud, in other words AWESOME. It’s got nice bottom end and mid-range if that makes any sense. TIGHT. It reminds me a lot of a Dominion bridge but with greater output, clarity, sustain and smoother overall. The clean in the neck is just so warm, ‘sparkly’ even, PAF like.; and also great for leads. Overall, compared to the other two: more clarity, tighter mid-range w/ good low, just smoother w/ more sustain. Guitar used:Ibanez RGA121 (Mahogany)
*For reference:
Set-up 1-guitars > KPA > JBL monitors or DXR10. Set-up 2- guitars > pedals> Mark V > Two Notes Torpedo Live > JBL monitors or DXR10.
Note that I’m not a big fan of cleans in the bridge, they tend to be ’sterile’ sounding imo. I prefer the neck for cleans, but that’s just me.
Of course, obviously, different guitars, rigs all lend to various end sound/results. So many various factors to consider. That JB 59 combo in my Carvin CT4 which sounded really good sounded not so good in my Washburn WM526, which also had a mahogany body.
My advice is to used other user’s reviews as a ‘guideline’ and check for yourself if it works for your guitar and set-up if chance or circumstance allows.
Plus these are just my opinions/experiences, YMMV as usual. :)

cool! thanks for the review. :)

in my experience naman the titan for me was too much of a mid for the bridge position. i liked the dominion better. it stays right in the middle when it comes to attack. what you forgot to mention was the attack the titan has. super sensitive. like a "clack clack clack" but i would understand why its like that because of jake's preference for that signature periphery djent attack. on the other hand, i loooooveee the neck titan. so buttery compared to liquifire or illuminator. has that distinctive glassy pick attack when you do fast runs on the neck positions. almost like a malmsteen yjm fury. :) by the way the titan set was equipped on my ibanez rg2720. it has now a dominion set in it.

yep dats what I liked about it, that 'tightness'. Tight w/ more sustain. I hear you about the Titan neck for leads, but I still prefer bridge for dat. (Though I do like my Cold Sweat neck for leads in my JS1000).. That 'clack' character you hear, I didn't like in my Dominions (RGA121) which is why I replaced them. I'm a LOG fan and liked Mark Morton's tone but found the Dominions sorta 'lacking' though my own set-up. They're nice pickups but wasn't for me. To each his own :)

Tuning is Dropp C and Eb standard. the guitar is ibanez RGD420z
For passives: you can't go wrong with DiMarzio CrunchLab/Liquifire, or Titan, or Seymour Duncan Distortion. For actives: I recommend EMG 85/60, or Seymour Duncan Blackouts AHB-1.
It really depends with the tone you're looking for :)
P.S.:wait for other's BKP recommendations.

1. no its not bang for the buck. 300$ for a pair vs around 140-190$ the most for production dimarzio and SD. but for me as a user, it has its own characteristics(im referrering to what i own/owned and comparing it the the dimarzio and sd's that i owned aswell), that suits my kind of tone. by the way ive been using painkillers, cold sweats, warpig and emerald.
as for if you choose dmz or sd, id recommend the ff: dimarzio neck: liquifire, airnorton, illuminator, paf pro, gravity storm. dimarzio bridge: dominion, dactivator, titan. not a fan of crunchlab but some likes it.
sd: sentient/pegasus set, black winter set, perpetual burn bridge(my favorite), old time favorite jb/59 set.
2. more like can it fit the route of your guitar? especially if your pickup route has either the triangular tab/ear or the square tab/ear aswell as the overall route shape/size aswell.
see pic: (http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g4/knet370/warpigs.jpg)
on the 7S, the bkp covered pickup doesnt fit the overall pickup route even though i have the tab/ears requested to have a triangular shape. the pickup routes corner edges needs to be more square-ish. case to case basis for bkp covered pickups. for the uncovered, usually sa tabs lang ayaw mag kasya tsaka if long leg or short leg ang pickup.
hth :)

I somehow agree. Given nasa $500+ yung guitar, it's not that worth it. The alternative I suggest is Titan since you're eyeing on Nailbomb, and you mentioned versatility.
plus the gold cover looks badass with your guitar

I don't have any idea about the pickup fittings but all I know that is my guitar is direct mounting and yes I am eyeing with the Illuminator and Titan more djenty feel and when it comes with SD pegasus/nazgul/sentinent is one of my choices but I had to think thrice about the perpetual burn because most of the guitar equipped with it have different kinds of of wiring like split coil/tone/volume controls but on my case I only have a volume knob so I think I can't use the pickups more than it should be

Hard to assess kung anong factor ang pickups... Parang may 'curtain' mga speaker cabinets niyo which I guess is because of the recording equipment limitations.
