This is the kind of job that makes me think of leaving my current one.  8-) 8-) 8-)

May I ask, is this a fulltime position?

We're looking now . . . just send your resume to dennis@hitproductions.net. Serious applicants only. I uploaded some pics of the last studio we built in another post, but here is are some shots of our main music room. I am building another room now. I'm looking for guys who are really into audio. Believe me you'll need to really love the job to survive in this industry. Successful candidates will be trained to work in audio post and music recording for advertising. We are a real competitive company and work hard, having won 9 out of 12 Araw Production House of the Year Awards ( equivalent to a Grammy in the local Ad industry ) as well as the only two Cannes Lion awards for audio in the Philippines. So standards are high. We also party hard so there are pluses and minuses to the job.

Here is a shot of the control room of our flagship music room. Designed by Rod Gervais, Bob Hodas ( of Mix Magazine fame ) and myself. This is an in house production facility so we have lots of our own musical instruments and in house session players.

Here is the main tracking room which was designed by Rod Gervais who helped Tony Bongiovi with the Powerstation Studios in the US. I have always been a big fan of the Powerstation (now called Avatar NYC). The room uses a unique tuned slat resonator system and took me almost a year to build. Drums sound fantastic in this room with very little processing. So do guitars and vocals. With all the wood I am surprised I how clear everything sounds without gobos. Last year we brought in Michael Stavrou who used to be the chief engineer at Air Monserrat to give us a seminar and he was surprised how good it sounded. We're proud of this room.

Another view of the recording space. This is our iso booth where we put the Yamaha Grand and it sounds great for acoustic guitars and violins as well. As you can see there are a lot of monitors as we can control the ProTools system from any part of the studio tracking areas.

Well that is a small photo tour of the place where you'll be working. We have 17 other rooms, mostly audio for video rooms and MIDI scoring suites. You guys can check us out at www.hitproductions.net and or the company blog at http://blog.hitproductions.net/.

Cheers . . . Hello MiKe P, KitC, and Gerry Diwa!

To add I would have killed to work in a place like this when I started out 30 years ago. This opportunity does not come knocking everyday.

Our music department head Mike Villegas (ex Rizal Underground) will work you real hard but you'll learn a lot from him. We also bring in foreign engineers to train our staff every few years. You will also have to learn by osmosis and prove yourself every day. You will not be spoon fed. The ability to deal with stressed out clients on a daily basis is a must so your people skills will count a lot. Pace is much faster than in a usual "band studio" and you'll record everything from jazz to rock to OPM to classical all in one day. So you will get an education in sound recording like no other.

Our current music engineer KC Caballero, started out at ground zero. His only music experience was as a bass player with his band Cosmic Love and a year in LaSalle's music production program. Still KC beat out over a dozen applicants for the job and is a now pretty decent music engineer and ProTools maven. He even won our "Employee of the Year" award in 2009! Alas working 16 hour days is killing his social life. So we now need to find a couple of warm bodies to train.

When interviewed you'll get to meet Mike, KC and the rest of our music team. You'll find that they are a tight knit bunch. Many clients, including ones who have worked in big studios in other countries say HIT has that magic vibe that they rarely see in other places. Unlike most places where the "boss" does the hiring, we let our employees choose who gets the job. You will be judged by your peers.

Lastly, I have gotten email from you guys, but only a few attached actual resumes. Please I need your resumes (Google how to write one).

Cheers!

Konting pagmumuni-muni. Konting drama lang, if I may.

I would love to have a studio like that; to be able to produce at that level.

I'm pretty sure I don't want to do music for advertising though.
I didn't even want to go into advertising after getting my degree in *gasp* advertising.
Para sa isip bata tulad ko, that beautiful monstrosity of a studio is where rockstar dreams go to die.

It IS beautiful, though.

Hi, Chris Cantada. Long time no see. Magkaiba talaga ang tinatahak nating landas. Godspeed, buddy!

chromeknive,

My all time favorite music Engineer Bob Clearmountain had his start in commercials, as did one of my favorite music producers Robert John "Mutt" Lange. Like most of us on this board we are fueled by our vision. Hoping to give some real driven and deserving person an opportunity to reach their dream.

Yes those were the days NS10. Glad you people like the studio . . . it was my mid-life crisis.

Advertising has been good to us. Still deep down you want to do something more with all the rich musical talent in this country. Probably THE reason I built this room. In all honesty all you need to create a jingle is a laptop, music software and a single mic. Selling to a client is a different story . . .

Life is short, want to be able to say we've done something. From lurking on the other forums, I feel we are all driven by a similar vision.

Lot of changes in the music industry in the last few years and a shift in the way music is made, shared and produced. Who would have thought these days you can create your art on a single computer and let the world hear you via  the internet. The big boys are still reeling trying to find the next business model. Most of us on this board did not get into the music world because we wanted to be filthy rich, as we all know at least in Manila, if we wanted money there are many easier ways to make a buck.

We've been fortunate to be able to make our livings doing something we love. I in particular thank God that I've been extremely lucky.

Mixman . . . the job is for an assistant to be trained to a full engineer. Kung you are serious about your dreams, we're the place to make it happen. Get ready to work harder than you ever have. It will be worth it.

Please send me your resume. Go to our blog and website and find out something about us. Do your research on what we do. Put that in your resume and be specific about your objectives . . . please no generalities . . . "I want to contribute my talents to benefit my employer." type statements. That will not cut it. Tell us about your dreams and career objectives in the music recording field. Let us know what you have done that prepares you for this job. Even if you were a waiter at Jolibee, what skills did you pick up in that job that will make you a good engineer.

Hope others are reading this. I want to coach you guys how to get past our screening committee which I am not part of. They will be a group of our employees who will judge you first on your resume, then your interview and finally how you fit in with everyone. They will not be as nice as I am now. Having good technical skills is a given. This is career planning 101. I hope others reading this post will keep that in mind. Even when you apply to other jobs.

Cheers and keep those resumes coming.
