electronic drum for studios
« on: July 10, 2007, 11:09:43 AM »
just saw this vid and its really cool that you can now interface drum pads to the PC.

ang daming sound possibilities na magagawa using any vst instrument

i really really want his setup  :-D

siguradong mas mura to at mas flexible kesa sa roland TD-20

*awww nagcheck ako ng price, 4k USD pala yung unit sa vid. 1k na lang TD-20 na rin  :-(

There's someone selling an Alesis D4 in the classifieds, it comes with trigger inputs for pads; AFAIK, you can use the D4 as a midi drum trigger. If you google around, you will find techniques on DIY trigger sensors that you can attach to practice pads or even real drum kits. Use the triggers in conjunction with the D4 and you have an electronic drum system. Me? I cheat a little... I use a Roland SPD-11 for triggering.  8-)

but the D4 has limited (or maybe none at all) dual-zone inputs. the new alesis trigger io supports 10 dual-zone inputs  :-D

aaahhhh GAS na naman

I dunno... not all pads have to be dual zone. Toms and kicks, in particular, use mostly single zone triggers. One of the reasons I got the SPD was that it accepted dual zone triggers (but I couldn't afford one of those PD-7/9s then  ).

sir KitC what if etong combo na to

http://www.musiciansbuy.com/Alesis-Trigger-IO-Electronic-Percussion-Interface-TRIGGERIO.html

and

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ddrum-Red-Shot-5Piece-Drum-Trigger-Pack?sku=442393

tapos mga practice drumpad ? will it work kaya ?

Looks like a good combination although the ddrum triggers are single zone only. I think they will work for simple setups... besides, the price looks very right.

i like electronic drums kasi i dont have a nice room for recording drums... saka maliit yung space ko. it also removes a lot of work sa setup time at sa proper micking techniques..  8-)

oo Hazel, idagdag ko lang ang OBSERVATION ko
1. alang bleed sa kabilang track
2. wala ng mauubos na oras sa mic placement
3. mapapalitan mo quality ng drum sound like size, muffle material placement and amount, room size, room reverb, attack, delay.

incidentally, me and my friend also built the trigger to midi converter on the said link. all you need will be a midi input in your pc and drum sounds from a vst drum instrument or something similar.

my friend and i are thinking of offering to build the trigger to midi converter for anyone interested. i just need to know if anyone would indeed be interested and how much they'd be willing to pay. so, anyone up to it?

thanks for the reply sir. now my next question is. possible ba sya pluig in sa amp same with Rolands V drums? actually secondary nalang ung recording eh, i wanted to set up kasi this kit for practice na controlled ang volume ng drums.

Di ko pa alam kung magkano ang total e, pero I'm thinking mga 5k siguro lahat. Just to make it clear, what we're offering is to build the trigger to midi converter only kind of like the alesis trigger i/o. You need to build your own diy drumkit for this.

trigger to midi converter lang sya, like the alesis trigger i/o so no built in sounds. You need to plug the midi out to a sound generator or your pc to generate the drum sounds.

You may search the net on how to put on the triggers. Marami naman designs basta google ka lang. 'Yung 5k ung trigger to midi converter lang yun just like the Alesis trigger I/O. You need to plug it to a computer or sound generator (drum module) via midi to get sound out of it kasi midi lang ang output nito. Visit www.edrum.info for more details on the diy module we offer.

Sakin ba ang reply mo? Hindi ako si peeves e. Were still testing the market kung meron man. So far ikaw pa lang ang interested e. Siguro kelangan mag-up ng video of the unit in action para mas magkaron ng interes. Btw, you can buy piezo transducers (triggers) sa deeco electronics.
