the boys from eraserheads?

my brother and I were talking about music from back in the day - no not Pepe Smith back in the day - just as far back as Eraserheads. When they came out, I was still in highschool and the music scene wasn't as big..whatever happened to these guys? They had some pretty catchy memorable songs that weren't flashy or anything, just good simple songwriting skills.

yeah i'm a die-hard e-heads fan.

i remember my summer vacations when we'd go back to the philippines during school break and my cousins said "listen to this.." and i was hooked!

great songwriting skills. music/words we can all relate to. they were THE pinoy band of the mid90s. not too heavy, not too light, just right.

im a fan too back in the 90s when their music was simple an raw...i like their first 4 albums...

sad to say they already disbanded:

raymund is in sandwich and pedicab
ely is in pupil
buddy is in the dawn
i dunno about marcus  :lol:

marcus have been a surfer for quite a while, he's based in san fernando, he said he kept all his gear when eheads broke up...and focused on surfing...thats what he said when i bumped into him a couple of months ago... 8)  8)  8)

i heard marcus performs some acoustic thingy and does make the audience laugh too. i dunno where and when but our manager told us he saw marcus once and told me about that one.

eheads is the beatles of the philippines.. tingin ko, ito tlaga ang pinka nakaimpluwensya sa mga banda ngayon.. tingnan nyo mga music ngyon, halos kadating ng tunog nila dati, dats why i like sugarfree, itchyworms, sandwich, etc..lam ko idol din sila ng rivermaya.. sguro kung buo pa sila magkano na kaya talent fee nila.hehehe

Marcus has a music project called Surfer Nando.  The music would be along the same lines as his lifestyle right now: surf music.  I've heard a track out of one of his EPs.  Really good stuff.  Last I heard, he was trying to find a label to distribute the music.

love his riffs during the e-heads days. pag naglabas sya ng EP, i'll be sure to get one!  :lol:

i agree :)

pero the way he sings, nandun pa rin ung parang mejo maarteng boses na cool naman. bsta yung parang pag may sinisigaw siya merong extended na lumalangoy na letter a or e. hehe

sa eheads din Bro, hindi rin si Ely lahat.  Pero kadalasan.

isa siguro difference na mapapansin agad e, mas mabigat ang tunog ng Pupil.

isa pa ay, imo lang, mas magaling at mas musical ang eheads line up.

Ako gusto ko sha. :) Pati yung last album ng heads, yung Carbon Stereoxide. There really sounded like a band on that last one.

para sa akin, mas nagustuhan ko pupil kaysa mongols (no offense). i liked the direction the heads were going to with the carbonstereoxide album. tingin ko nga, parang yun ang direction na itinuloy ni ely with his bands after eheads. opinion lang.

Actually ang daming wannabee Eraserheads..

Pero none of them capture the real AURA of the HEADS.

Yung tipong every album na ilalabas ng "Heads" ay lahat puro ginto (walang basura).

Yan ang kulang sa mga banda ngayon.

You win some,you loose some" type of the album.Iba mababasura mo.

For me my fave album is CIRCUS then sunod na yung STICKER HAPPY.

Marcus can produce some decent guitar licks..listen this track "BATO",MINSAN and MONO VIRUS...(slide guitar ata yon)

Ang sabi ko men..wow rock and roll
