Sirs;
Its been to difficult to dig this thread, or the likes... and if there is... i assumed its inactive PMcians barely to have yamaha guitar as i often visited classified guitar section.
Or maybe.... said axe (yamaha) is for kept sake as i did...
my YAMAHA RGX321FP its with me since 2007, for until now its kick'in thanks to lester "bluejem" great selection of wood, craftmanship, electronics, resulting to over the edge tone playability aswell imo...

wow, ganda naman nyan sir. buong front ng body naka pick-guard? im using 3 yamaha guitars, one RGX621DM since 2008 yata, then i got the new RGX early this year and one acoustic. and sad to say natumba at ngayon ay may crack sa likod. will post the pics soon.

wow, ganda naman nyan sir. buong front ng body naka pick-guard? im using 3 yamaha guitars, one RGX621DM since 2008 yata, then i got the new RGX early this year and one acoustic. and sad to say natumba at ngayon ay may crack sa likod. will post the pics soon.

isnt it eto yung model scalloped on 20th to 24th fret? its almost the same yung feel neto with mine nka test nako more often makikita mo ito s mga senior rock heads, bihira n tlaga.
replaceable yung design nang pickguard, medu madami lang screw tyaga lang :) i havnt change design since then, when acquired..

Currently I have a Yamaha Pacifica 312 satisfied ako sa clean at mas satisfied yung mga friend ko sa Bridge HB niya for high gain Sound. Built wise good siya nice fret works. Downside lang sakin is medyo maliit yung body niya compare sa Fender Strat. Nasa IFS siya but then pag may mga nagtetext na nag-inquire or bibile na nagdadalawang isip ako kasi iniisip ko kunting upgrade lang it will worked as my Work Horse Guitar. But then di din kasi ako masiyado sa Electric Guitar more on Acoustic Fingerstyle. I also have 1978 Yamaha FG-122 medyo bihira ka makakita ng model na to OM siya. Will post later ng pics..

btw Sirs;
I also do have my precious YAMAHA APX4 (RARE MODEL) Tone walang pag uusapan, Cutaway so you can brit High notes, sleek body im not into dreadnought :) thin line profile and perfect neck imo.
Electronics yun yung major concern ko (battery placement lang nmn)
Drycell compartment located inside the guitar ohhh my... yun tlga previous model and limited lang lumabas, then after a year may lumabas APX series 500,900, 700 ofcourse improved version sa labas na yung batt compartment, digital narin, slide EQ control narin...
ampogi naman nyan bro... btw may nakasubok na ba sa inyo ng pacifica? any model?
Yung PAC012 sir entry level but then it all started there, usual strat body sleek lang bahagya electronics winner SSH config nun, med radius, and of course the wood.... ok yung feel
ayoko nalang mag name drop sa other commercialized guitar... esp entry level ibang iba kc and may magagalit s ibang thread... hahahha

Pasali naman po rito sa thread na to. Nadiscover ko yamaha rgx nun naghhanap ako ng 2nd hand guitar na lalaspagin sa gigs, at nakatagpo naman ako ng rgx 421 dm, nakita ko sa sulok ng tindahan na putol putol ang strings , pero ok pa ang cosmetics nya, nun hinawakan ko , boom inluv kagad ako sa neck nya, kaya ngayun ipun ipon ng konti para pag may matagpuan ulit na rgx , hirap na kasing makatagpo. Currently yun yams ko , Rgx 421dm, Yg821dmr, tsaka drop6 baritone guitar.:) post nlng po ako ng pix pag nakauwi nko ng bahay. Salamat po

@ Sir Brewstein15, Made in taiwan, halos lahat ata ng rgx na gawa nun 90's ...kahit yung mas high end n 821dm .. Pero sulit n sulit sa quality, gustong gusto ko rin ang ginamit n licensed floyd rose na gawa ng takeuchi japan, ginamit rin to ng older japanese made ibanez tsaka jacksons,na pag inilagay mo na tremolo arm di nag lo loosen, at kahit ilang dive bombs di nawawala sa tono...bout sa tone ,bright yung tunog nya, cguro dahil nga sa maple fretboard.Balak kung palitan pickup nya para mas bumigat tunog,marami na rin akong nasubukan na gitara pero nkka inluv tlaga gitara na to, hehe happy guitar hunting bro :)

I prefer talaga maple fretboard kesa rosewood...Made in taiwan din akin.akala ko kasi may iba pang factory ang yamaha dito sa asia eh. nice nga yung mga dating floyd models...di kagaya ng mga nakakabit sa ibang ibanez rg's.natatanggal kasi yung trem arm nun eh. Tip lang,pag nagpalit ka ng pickups,tago mo lang yung stock.Bka magustuhan mo pa yung dating setup eh.Hehe. O kaya ibenta mo saken!Haha! (nice try!)

@sir sideproject, last year ko lng natuklasan yams , tsk tsk sa tinagal tagal ko na rito sa japan its a shame, marami na akong nadaanan sa tindahan na mga rgx nuun pa sad to say di ko man lng hinawakan, iba kac yun target ko na gitara, ngayon di pa naman huli cguro hehe, bawi bawi..... yung rgx 421 dm , last year ko lng nabili, tapos yung 821 actually last week lng. Nauna ko pa nga naorder online yung drop 6, kaya lng chamba lng tong 821 , biglaan ko lng binili ng napadaan ako sa used guitar shop, hihintayin ko pa sana sahod ko bago bilhin, kaya lng baka maunahan ako ng iba.... kaya heto di maexplain ang saya at di maexplain kay misis bat yung isang order naging dalawa :-D :-D

Nang makuha ko ito yamaha ay walang pickup but kumpleto sa hardware and trembar.Di ko na napapinturahan kasi ala na budget.Bright tone maganda ipartner sa fuzz pedals.Di kagaya ng rosewood dark ang tone sa fuzz.Nabili kolang ito sa japan surplus matagal na daw yun nakatambak kasi walang pumapansin kasi walang pintura.Parang tinawag ako nun gitara nang mapadaan ako kaya biniliko na agad.

Yan din ang pagkakaalam ko.Kaya kinuha ko na agad ng malaman kong yamaha yung gitara.Wala pa ako budget ipapintura eh.Medyo panalo na sa gotoh tuner and floating bridge.maganda pa rin fret wire parang walang hilig sa gitara dating may ari nito.

yes sir brew, mismo gary nga he even allowed it to broadcast on national tv pa but then lets keep moving forward.. For now marami na siya pwesto, and finished 2nd solo album thru the help of one of our forumite here
i believed custom pac, was already loaded with sperzel and all those high end eklabu... Thats y may kamahalan tlga 1k usd s ngayon to eh...

Thank you sir sideproject for praising my 'Hera' and for answering questions of other forumates about my guitar.
Sir sideproject is correct about the infos regarding this PACUSA Custom 2. All the upgrades we're done inside the yamaha factory in USA, not by me. It was a project of Yamaha Guitar Development in the 90's(I think this is equivalent to Fenders'sr Custom Shop). They stopped producing it due to its expensive value (according to some site that I have read). Factory setup po sya. I didn't made any modifications.

hinanap ko sir audi yan na model sa website ng yamaha. jp la e, pero sa US meron, tsaka la akong nakikita rito nyan dito sa japan, cguro walang release nyan dito, baka sa US or europe cguro. San po ba nyo naiskor yan sir? anyway, nice to have an satisfied yamaha guitar user like me :)

Konting punas lang yan brother... kung ako sayo iisa isahin kong bumili ng upgrades nyan, sisimulan ko sa pots and wires, tapos ipa-setup ng maige. just a thought

hinanap ko sir audi yan na model sa website ng yamaha. jp la e, pero sa US meron, tsaka la akong nakikita rito nyan dito sa japan, cguro walang release nyan dito, baka sa US or europe cguro. San po ba nyo naiskor yan sir? anyway, nice to have an satisfied yamaha guitar user like me :)
I think US nga sha and crafted in korea and somewhere else hehe, LP style and set neck sha sir dark. And right now nagpalit na ko ng nevk pup's nya, SDunc na invader, swaaaabe!

what can you say about aes420 mga sir? Yun kasi gamit ko so far all stock and for me its good naman... I was just wondering kung my gumagamit ng same model makahingi ako ng tips and tricks sa current na madalas ko ginagamit na guitar.. :wave: thanks guys!

May nakita akong fender cd60ce sa classifieds 8k lang.Maganda yun nakatry na ako nun. Di kami endorser ng yamaha dito kaya siguro ok lang na magsuggest din ng ibang brand.Hehe...

I searched for reviews seems ok naman, I really love the natural finish of this guitar... maybe I will try this mamaya and pag nagustuhan ko I will buy it.
Please share you thoughts naman about this guitar.

May tanong ako sa finish ng natural matte finishes ng entry level Pacificas. Nagfofog ba talaga sila? Nakabili ako ng PAC 112J at medyo white yung finish. Nakatambak lang raw sabi ng seller sakin.

I regret selling my 312h, It was lightweight, it sounded good, and it looked gorgeous. :cry:
I also have a 312H, and it's my main axe for sometime na, maganda tunog nga mga SCs nya, kung hindi lang microphonic yung HBs, di ko na siguro pinalitan.

I have a Yamaha RGX 421D in cherry red sunburst finish which my dad bought for me back in 1995. Bought it from Perfect Pitch in SM North. I actually had a choice of getting either the 421D or the 621D in natural oil finish, but I ultimately chose the cherry red sunburst.
Unfortunately, my 421D is currently not in working order. Its stock Floyd Rose licensed bridge is terribly worn out, and I broke the high-E machine head when the guitar broke of its strap. Being the 19 year old guitar that it is, the finish has worn out and chipped where I've had knicks and dents on it.
I was able to source a Floyd Rose licensed bridge (lo-pro like the stock one) from Hong Kong, and 2-pin machine heads from the UK, so that's a start. Next week, I'll be buying paint stripper to remove the paint, then by March buy a set of Dimarzios (Air Norton, True Velvet and Tone Zone) and rewire the whole thing. But of course, I won't leave the body unfinished, so when I get back to the Philippines (I work here in Malaysia), I'll bring my 421D to a luthier for a repaint, to its original cherry red sunburst finish of course. Too expensive to do a repaint here in Malaysia with the local luthiers.
To be fair though, I've met a few good luthiers here, but I somehow trust Pinoy luthiers more. So the repaint will have to wait until I get back.

It was made between 1975 and 1978, I'm planning to install pickup para magamit ko sa acoustic gig. :)
