Mga sir,
May nakapagsabi po sa akin na isang audio engineer na may available cd o downloadble files ng ibat-ibang tunog ng frequency (in hertz, khertz)? San po ba pwede makakuha nito? They said this helps you get familiar with diff. feedbacks at madali mo itong napapatay if you are aware with diff. sounds of frequency? Is this true?
anyone
thanks

This diagram might help you with the ranges of various musical instruments in relation to a keyboard and music stave. Remember that concert pitch middle A is based on 440 Hertz and that going up an octave doubles it's frequency while going down halves it.

There are indeed people who have memorized the sound of the various frequencies, and they can tell what particular frequency is giving a feedback. But this takes a long time to master.  I still rely on a 1/3 octave frequency analyzer to get to the offending frequency.  I have a small gadget that I use for "tuning" or "ringing" the stage monitors.  It is made by Goldline, but it seems it now out of production.  Google Goldline to see some handhelds you can go for.  There is a Korean brand that does speakers also that came out with a nice handheld 1/3 octave.  I have it but cannot remember the brand.  It cost me about 20K several years ago.  I'll tell you the brand when I get the item in my car.  I carry it every where with me.  It has become an indispensible tool.  Or try going to Audiophile.  They carry rack mounted units that are very nice.

There are CDs available that you can buy.  However these test CDs are not available locally.  There may be some you can download from the net and burn into a CDR.  Then yo familiarize yourself on the different feedback frequencies.  Like I said, this takes time to master.

Im actually attending a 3hour workshop this sunday to be held at tracks studio (angee rozul). I wanna know if there are other recording workshops that will be available because I'd like to learn. I don't think i'd be able to stay a vocalist forever and maybe this is what i can do afterwards.
I've got a basic fostex 8-track mr-8 and i'd like to start of with the basics and later on build on that.

Zocalist, the Workshop is scheduled for November 25 and 26, not this Sunday.  You won't find us in the studio during that day, ... but maybe Bamboo will be doing his recording.  They do Sunday recordings as well.

See you November 25 and 26, that's 2006, from 1 - 6 PM at TRACKStudios, 19 Gen. Delgado St., San Antonio Village, Pasig City. 6338710 or 6333175.

Sir Im not sure pero I think your the only one has that kind of software dito sa Philmusic :(. as ive search Traktion 2 is a Mackie Product also. Most of us here in Music Technology and Audio Pro uses eithe Sonar, Cubase, Adobe Audition, FL, PT, Nuendo ....etc. With regards on MIDI almost all DAW apps have the same uses for the MIDI. btw do u have a Keyboards/Workstation to do MIDI Stuffs?

depende sayo yan... dati naalala ko nung may banda ako we used tape recorders to record our demos. ngayon shempre high tech na. you could go 2 practical routes. 1 is to get a multitrack tape recorder/mixer combo or 2, get a pc, load a recording software and attach a mixer to the line in. you could either do a live recording or a sequenced one on both setups. hope you have fun recording!

Okay, forumites! Listen up!

If you had a chance to walk into a studio and be taught everything under the sun about recording, what would you like to know?

I have been in discussion with another forumite about setting up a workshop to learn about recording. The basic premise is that we will work with what is locally available, hardware and software-wise, mimicking the plight of most recordists here. The goal is to try to educate most musicians/bands on how to properly record their music, if possible in a DIY setting. Hopefully, we will post mp3's and pics of the workshop's progress. The purpose of this post is to let us know specifically, what interests the majority out there.

Any violent reactions?
