mga sirs...i was wondering, what's the difference of an ibanez made from korea and made from japan?besides the wood and the tone.....yung physical aspects po ng korean made and japan made...... :?:  :?:  :D  :D

Neck Profile & Fretwork
Bridge (Lo-TRS2/Edge Pro 2/Edge 3 vs. Edge/LoPro/Edge Pro/Zero Resistance)
Pickups (INF/Powersound/AH vs V series/QM/Dimarzio/IBZ/Dimarzio)

sir what about the serial numbers? do they differ?(japan-korea-china)my friend has a red ibanez js model guitar that is made from japan....the back plate of the guitar has an intricate logo of the ibanez and the serial no. is this authentic?sorry  i can't post pics of the guitar coz my friend flew to korea.... :?:  :D  :?:

Sir sigjoys, why'd you change your nut to a deerbone? And how much did it cost you to mod your sz520?

plastic kasi yung old nut. i have many experiences with plastic nuts, madali kasi masira so i opted to replace it with deer bone. sorry sir but di ko na ma-recall kung magkano. just ask jun, reasonable naman yung price nya in this work stuff.

i did the mods myself. i just bought the SD '59 and JB PUs and 3 push-pull pots at AP. i studied the wiring of the sz520 and got some inspiration from strat controls, coil split, page's out-of-phase, and guitars without tone controls. after i got the stuffs, studied the diagram over and over, and a liter of confidence, i did it. though i have made mistakes, it found a way to correct it. in the end, i appreciate the it. from the previous 3 combinations, i can have 9 possible combinations that i can do on the SZ520.

sir sig san nyo naiskor yung 12-string nyo? how much ang price tag? available pa ba?

sa AP alimall. nakuha ko ng 6.8k pero merong defect di masyado nakadikit yung bridge. naayos naman ni jun and its in good playing condition. my only comment-doesn't have a good bass response, more on mids and treble. this was also confirmed by jun because the bracing on the bass side nung top is not that open.

you got me uncovered :D. i really don't why it breaks. but it just happens, though some of the guitar didn't fall face down. di rin naman ganun kabilis maputol, its just a matter of durability for choosing the deer bone nut

I see. So its more of durabilty issue than a tone issue.

Btw, Ive been goin thru pages and pages of google search and still havent found info on my Talman TC620. Mine is a rare '95 Talman with the headstock matching the color of the body, the common Talman doesnt have this. And its got Kent Armstrong P-90s. Any of you guys seen it around?

hhhmmm... i never checked in its original state because i immediately did the mods and bring it to jun for proper condition. nevertheless i can't comment on the tone itself. most probably, it will sustain more over the plastic one.

yeah, nice jazz/blues guitar!
the only thing i have against it is that it doesn't provide a lot of upper neck access.
if thats an issue then theres the thinner AS83 and 73 i guess.

for all you guys who haven't changed/upgraded nuts (no pun intended, hehe), you should upgrade to bone or graphite nuts (they say tusq is just as good too). you won't believe the improvement in tone and tuning stability once you did this. i recently replaced my fender's nut to a graphtec nut, and such a HUGE improvement!!!

bone and graphite are "self-lubricating" nuts (think: roller nuts)... bone and graphite alsom are very hard/stiff materials allowing your strings to vibrate more freely, hence better tone (and maybe even sustain).

the nut cost me more than 600 php... i cant remember how much i paid for the installation.

I see. Sounds like its a good investment. So what's the difference between bone and graphite?

bone would be powdery (and they say, can be odorous when you cut it), while graphite don't have this powdery feel to it. some prefer bone over graphite tonally, while others prefer graphite. if you wanna replace a white nut with another white nut, then get a bone nut. me, i didn't mind if i used graphite on a previously bone nut.

Thanks for the info. I'll look into this as my next upgrade. Either this or a new set of machineheads.
