out of curiosity and positive feedbacks, ayun kumuha ako ng double ply ng lazer, ung black for my extra 16" tom...hehehe ayun di ko na ginagamit lol :-D
ewan ko, i think the skin compromises the wood sound. if you really want the sound you're looking for, get a good kit(i mean good quality wood shells) with matching good skins.
like remo,evans...so far yun lang ang accessible kasi sa atin, pero marami pang ibang skins, basically there's no perfect sound, it's more of one's taste of sound.
godbless!

aight aight pangit lazer hehehe natanong lang wakokoko

OT: napansin ko sa fernando ko yung laht ng reso nya tlgang thinner than the batters (normal un i get) naisip ko kung maka bili ako ng pinstripe ok kayang ung lumang batter ang ilagay ko sa reso side pra mas makapal? may nakagawa na ba nun o iwan ko nlng ung stock reso ko na mas manipis?
Title: Re: Lazer 2ply heads
Post by: kibohead on November 01, 2006, 02:37:12 PM
bro ginawa ko na yan before, i noticed that na pag parehas na kapal ung skins mo ng batter and resonant parang namamatay ung tunog...better to leave your stock resonant heads there, or better bili ka nalang ng trip mo.

And that would be the old Rustans building.  Yung bagong Rustans kasi sa Araneta Center is already located in Gateway.  Anyway, Salonga Music is located on that building, facing Shopwise.

nope. lazer is not our 'own'. its a taiwanese brand ever since.

the hardware is good and i think you really can make the drums sound good kasi ok naman construction pati materials. marketing lang problema hehehe.

tingnan lang natin kung hindi bumenta yang kung kakabitan mo ng ocdp, sjc, ____ (put other sikat na brand here) kahit pa sabihin na entry level drums lang yan

im just speculating but i think you can sell that kit for 25k and still profit albeit only a little. i hate to generalize but i think with lazer's case...alam mo naman mga negosyante, 100% ang tubo para kung mag sale man sila ng 50% e tubong lugaw pa rin

i will shut my pie hole now...i still love lazer kasi sa kanila lang ako pwedeng bumili ng parts hahaha

nope. lazer is not our 'own'. its a taiwanese brand ever since. well, binase ko lang sa sinabi mong "pinoy na lazer = pangit" ang akala kong local un. i also thought na lazer is a local brand tulad ng fernando pero gawa sa ibang bansa. sorry, my bad.

the hardware is good and i think you really can make the drums sound good kasi ok naman construction pati materials. marketing lang problema hehehe. ah so marketing ang problem hindi quality.. i agree. di ko trip marketing ng lazer eh. hehe

tingnan lang natin kung hindi bumenta yang kung kakabitan mo ng ocdp, sjc, ____ (put other sikat na brand here) kahit pa sabihin na entry level drums lang yan un nga ang nakakalungkot. i think colonial mentality ang problema kaya mas bumebenta ang "branded" na kits. sana matuto na ang pinoy to love a "filipino known brand".

im just speculating but i think you can sell that kit for 25k and still profit albeit only a little. i hate to generalize but i think with lazer's case...alam mo naman mga negosyante, 100% ang tubo para kung mag sale man sila ng 50% e tubong lugaw pa rin sana nga bumaba mga presyo ng mga drums. :)

cguro sana di n lng nila tinapatan un price ng ibang brands na established na if ever naguumpisa pa lng ibenta un ganun n series ng lazer. lazer has nice hardwares pero d aq sure over all sa kit.. if they sell it lower malamang bumenta yan tapos saka na lng nila taasan pg na establised n nila un kit. parang un gianawa ng jb s pearl vision series. unang labas nun sa jb is worth 49k pero nun tumagal naging 60k pataas na. nanghinayang nga aq nun nsa perfect pitch pa un pearl, nabili ko pearl export tpos bglang sinalo ng jb ang pearl tpos nglabas ng vision series n ka worth lng nun exports. wahhhhhhh, sayang tlga. pero ok lng kc sulit pa rn aq s exports. masarap ang tunog. versatile..

i bought one months ago and i must say na wag kayong bibili nito kahit kailan (super wrong move).

i'm selling mine now (both as a single pedal). hindi kaya ng konsensya ko na ibenta siya as a double pedal. in short, pangit.

*btw, hindi pangit yung mismong pedals. usually ang main problem sa generic double pedals ay yung rod na nagko-connect sa dalawang pedal (based from my observation).

I had a chance to check out their hardware, mukha naman matibay. Pero nun binuhat ko, parang magaan in relation to their bulk. It makes me think they used low quality metals for their gear. Pero mura ah, around 3K for snare stand and 2K for the straight stand.

1. overpriced
2. hindi 100% maple shells
3. decent hardware
4. decent finish
6. overpriced

kung presyo sana nila slightly above the high end fernandos, panalo na. kaya lang tinapatan nila price ng gretsch catalina at tama superstars e - the lazers are totally outclassed

with rack na ba yung 30K? afaik hindi pa kasama yung rack, but if ever it's a steal for that price. meron din dito sa lazer alabang, maple naman daw. ok yung sound, nice punch specially from the kick. just change the heads according to your sound preference para swabe talaga. hardware's pretty good too. overall 8.5/10 IMO. sa basix set naman, this could help out!

Basix drums: has anyone ever tried/owned it?

personally, I'd choose the lazer set (given the choices there hehe) swabe yung sizes, maple shells, pati yung hardware. but if I were you, ipon ka pa ng konti since bibili ka din naman, yung built to last na talaga at maganda yung resale value. madami magandang sets ngayon like Audiophile's TAMA Superstar, JB Music's Ludwig EPIC or Gretsch Catalina Maple sets, Lyric's PDP CX and X7 sets lalo na yung sa Music Source's High end Mapex sets like the Saturn Series (FTW) to name a few.. patience is a virtue!

lazer 2-ply?
OR
lazer w/ ring muffler (parang PowerStroke 3)?

Try the 2 ply. The cheaper version of Pinstripe!

nice!

LAZER REMO Encore User here brother! I use the 14" Coated Ambassadors by Lazer (Remo Encore Remo UT/UX). So far so good naman sir. Sounds the same naman for my ears, pero I've heard some experiences from our fellow forumers na may durability issue siya pag nagtune ka ng tight. may tendency na magstretch out yung head at masira agad. so, it is not advised to use these heads for tight tuning.

Just curious, if Lazer carries Remo UX, how does the Evans Uno compare? JB carries the G2 versions for 300 bucks a piece.

I'd use the UX and the G2 for toms. definitely hindi sa snare. mejo mabilis madent eh.

The bad ones, I encountered from Ali Mall. The Good Ones, I got from Lazer Sta. Rosa.
