offensive avatars
« on: September 04, 2007, 03:42:43 PM »
Sir/Ma'am,

Meron po ba tayong restrictions on offensive avatars? Parang may nabasa na po ako nun pati yung maximum size. baka po pwedeng palalahanan uli.

Yung mejo po offensive avatar eh gaya nung "jebs", "stripteaser" and the likes.

Avatar rules still under deliberation with the moderators. Will keep you guys updated. Thanks for giving us the heads up.

By the way, if you guys have any suggestions on avatar rules, just post it here. (We might not reply to everything, but that doesn't mean we don't read it).

i think avatars are a means of self expression and also are subjective. what is offensive to one person, may not be offensive to another... now there is a thin line between offensive and not offensive. restrictions on the size of the avatars are okay, but censorship of avatars is another matter. this is a musicians forum, and i think we should be open minded about this. there are settings on a members profile the don't allow viewing of avatars and signatures.

hey we are big boys and girls and this is a very vibrant and active forum. self expression rules. though its a matter of taste I guess..

ha ha. peace ha!

Opo ser. No offense po, but there are a lot more avatars out there to express yourself better.

Yes it is a matter of taste, though its true that offensive avatars are subjective, we can choose naman those avatars that are for GP and not rated R.

Sa akin lang po kasi na madalas mag-surf sa office, napapansin ng mga officemates ko yung mga avatars at napagkakamalan na adult site. Kasi nga naman music site pero strip me strip teaser or big bumpers jogging, again no offense po. It's the name of Philmusic we are carrying and protecting as members of this forum.

here we go again. another censorship issue. this is so weird: freedom of expression vs. morality.  :-D why not remove avatars so walang mao-offend? may mga handle/s naman, eh. seriously. i understand all sides but, for chrissakes, this is a music site and a site that i enjoy so much. ang trabaho ko ay nilalabanan ang censorship. pati ba dito sa philmusic may censorship pa?

Actually, as a public board, we will have to put some rules on the avatars in the near future. The moderators are just deliberating on the guidelines right now. Nothing too complicated. Kung baga, parang "Will I want my own kid visit this website & see my avatar?"

With great freedom, comes responsibility ....

let's all be responsible adults. not only this board's considered as public.... the internet, in general, is for the public. we'll never know, maybe an 11-year-old may be viewing this by now. don't give the moderators and administrators a hard time maintaining. do not force them to give you their iron fists.
